I could have sworn more people had chrome than blacked out. Chrome has been the industry staple for like 50 years now, blacked out has been around maybe 5 to 10 on bikes. Either way rock with what you like; that’s what I do…. 🤔
@@JohnJBBoydenIV I agree on both - rock what you like, and also that chrome has been industry standard but more for boomers (lol). Most young people under 40 I know have all been going blacked out for a decade now, almost across the board. I'm just starting to notice more and more young people moving more to chrome though. Lots of the Dyna bros all seem to be heading more that style.
@@JasonSick I can concede to that, I’m over 40 but under 50 and been on the bike scene damn near my whole life; but I can most certainly see how the “Blacked out” look can be considered the new standard depending on your age. For me chrome has always been the default go to look for Cruisers and later in life sport bikes… All good; I have a chrome bike and a blacked out bike so I guess I have the best of both worlds. 😝
I've been riding for 44 years the best part about Harley Davidson was the individuality, everybody's bike was chromed out with many different components some were hand made when you went to a bike meet it was great to see all the different bikes but now days they all look black and the same I don't even look at the bikes anymore, my bike is chromed out
I bought a a black RK from the original owner who put every, I mean everything that could be chrome chromed. The bike was too clean to pass up. I wanted all blacked out bike... I fell in love with this bike. I have changed a few things to black but all that big blingin chrome will stay. It will last longer than black too. I think you made a good choice brother. Keep the rubber side down
That bike is sick. I personally never been a fan of blacked out motorcycles. That’s the thing about Hd. You can make it your own. Chrome pops day or night.
I think you made a good decision, picking the chrome trim version. Not only that but the red/black color scheme looks absolutely smashing too. I think you never will be tired looking on that beauty... 🤩
I just bought a blacked one from Florida and it was not delivered to NJ yet. I've had the same dilemma for about a month now. I'm not a Chrome guy anymore but it looks so damn good on this bike. Your bike is gorgeous
I have a 21 RGS in Midnight Crimson w/ chrome the only thing is for the money we pay it should have chrome lower forks !! But love the chrome. Awesome channel and content. Stay blessed brother.
I’m in to both. I have an all blacked out ‘08 Fat Bob with Crimson Red Denim Paint. Looks good and a limited paint color. That’s why I bought it. Everyone had the black denim at the time. Next ride will be a RG with chrome for sure! Either way the RG is the best looking bagger HD makes IMO. That’s what I love about our community. Different tastes but one big brother/sisterhood!
I have an all blacked out SGS. I prefer the blacked out look but when you put the comparison picture of the RG blacked out.....I actually prefer the look of your chrome. Nice looking bike. Ride safe!
I'm old school and love chrome and candy colors. When the 2021s came out I wanted your bike with matching chopped tour pack and chrome front forks. It's so good looking.
Chrome with your paint is definitely more eye catching than the black. I’ve got the blacked out Heritage but stuck with the chrome exhaust when swapping out the stock. The contrast is “some” chrome against the black makes it pop more.
You made the right choice. I’m a sucker for chrome on cruisers. That’s the only place chrome is acceptable these days. It’s played out on cars/trucks but classy asf on a wet paint cruiser.
I went for the murdered out look on my '21 Road King Special. I do like the small chrome bits on it though to break it up. The chrome parts like the gas caps, bezel around the speedo, hardware pieces, etc really pop against an otherwise blacked out bike. I like the balance. My biggest complaint about the chrome bikes is that lower fork leg not being chrome too. Drives me nuts and that's a pretty major piece to change.
i bought a new 2021 road glide in snake venom and chrome. i have a 2018 heritage in black and it is so much harder to keep clean. plus after a while enough of the black. it loses it look to me. i agree with you chrome is coming back. i am glad i got the new road glide in chrome.
The chrome engine looks killer with the black, i have chrome on black breakout, only thing that would look nicer black is the forks and the engine will pop more.. def went right going chrome when you already have a blacked lowrider anyway
i was going to go black up onto the moment i saw the chrome version, and i said, " hell no, Im going chrome!" Blacj might go great with other colors, but with this color combo, chrome was it. I have the exact bike u got.
You're the only one that can decide if it was a mistake but its a little late to change your mind. I had a lot of chrome bikes over the years, when I got my 2007 Street Glide I spent a fortune blacking it out so when I sold it to upgrade in 2019 I jumped all over the Blacked out Road Glide Special and love it.
IMO, it all depends on the color of the bike. Darker colors such as yours look best in chrome. The lighter bright colors (white, grey, red) look the best blacked out.
Yeah they both look good. Chrome is timeless. But the chrome option DEFINITELY needs chrome fork lowers. Harley chrome ain't what it used to be though. A black Special with an aftermarket chrome exhaust to break up the black a bit perhaps?
I went from an all chromed out Sporty, to a mostly blacked out Dyna, back to a chromed out M8 Road King. Why? The blacked out stuff chips easier & degrades faster than hard chrome. Even scratches are different. They can be polished out of chrome, but once you get a scratch in paint or powder coat, you're screwed. I'm a chrome-boi 4 life now.
Both [chrome pkg. & black pkg.] look excellent, with the chrome obviously having more "pop" than black. The only solution is to have at least two Harleys...one with chrome & one with black; and also 2 different types of bikes (re: 1 Bagger & 1 Sport Cruiser, for example). For me, I have a '21 Road Glide Special (Snake Venom w/black pkg.), and an '06 CVO V-Rod (Red w/chrome everything).
I was wondering if you have ever had the saddle bag metal skid plates that are glued onto the bags make contact with the ground? I never noticed them before until somebody had one fall off and showed it on a RUclips video.
Good to watch this video bro. In September I bought the Indian pursuit limited premium edition black metallic chrome. I had ordered the dark horse black smoke challenger. But the delivery was months away and i couldnt wait. And the pursuit made more sense. I got it for like $1,500 more than the challenger after all the add ons i was putting on it. And the pursuit didn’t need to add anything. Electronic suspension as well which is godly like. That said. I have moments of regret with the chrome. Like thinking of blacking most of it out. Then at times i embrace the chrome. I do like it. And i certainly like the gloss black over the matte black. But i go back and forth. And dont know if it’s worth the money to do it. But I am loving this fucking bike.
Chrome is nice but taking care of it is something else. I like to ride more then cleaning my bike. I had a chromed out bike before and it bothers me when the chrome was dirty cause it made the bike look old. But definitely always appreciated a nice chrome build. But for me all blacked out is just easier to keep it looking clean.
I love both. Prefer black cause being a sailor, I love by the ocean and want to ride not just polish chrome before and after I ride. If it at sea that takes a toll and cost to replace parts. Black can be painted. But the eclipse chrome is sick too
Love the dual tone. I got the exact same bike and prior to getting it I was debating about getting a black one with chrome but then I saw the red and black in the chrome and fell in love. Another reason I got the color was bc nobody had to ask if it’s a special bc the dual paint is only on the specials.
I went with the teal and chrome . I just feel like everybody is getting black. There are some things I will be changing to black though I.e handle bars and crash bars. Chrome gives it that old school look
On your bike and that color scheme I think the chrome is where it’s at. To me, black on black isn’t it, I think it looks better with that contrast, now if your bike was all red I would say the black looks better but because the paint scheme has black the chrome makes it pop. That’s what I think anyway!
It depends on the color tbh like that snake venom color, I thought the chrome looked terrible with it but having a matte black bike with everything in black, I definitely want some nice gloss paint with some clean chrome or even polished finish🤘🏼 also that jacket you got on is cleeean
I think with the black (and red) in the paint the chrome looks amazing. I believe if you would have went black it would have been to much black. I like the black (with chrome or polished aluminum) if there is no other black on the bike. However I have seen where you can get accents (not sure if any color is available) that you can put on your rocker boxes and other spots. Might be something to think about. However I’d think red accents (if possible) would look badass (sorry about my French lol).
Great looking bike and great video. Never owned a black version bike always gone with chrome. Would like a change but how does the black paint wear over time in comparison to chrome? Would appreciate any thoughts.
Black looks good. But it ain’t gonna stay like that. If you ride a lot…. The black is gonna get chips and scratches….. and the worst is the bug stains. Also I don’t like how the black rocker box covers start to fade and dull out due to engine heat. Chrome will hold that new bike appearance longer.
You will be glad in a few years. The all blacked out look will fade. It is what everyone has. Murdered out cars are already fading. It’s cheap looking imo. Although I’m an old soul and love my chromed out ultra.
I dunno bro! Chrome is classic. I went with black and chrome on my denim black street glide. So many options for accessories now a days that everybike is different in its own way. Ur bike is sharp bro! Let's face it tho Harley's are beautiful fucking bikes no matter what. Keep up the hard work lovin the channel
I think it looks really good in chrome. I don’t know what’s the story with the blacked out version and the stupid salt on the roads up north especially in NJ plus the moisture from the East coast. Hope you don’t have any issues and do like a coating to prevent such issues. Ride safe and Happy New Year to you and yours bud!!! Come ride in Arizona hahahha
I fuck with old Harleys heavy, so I'm a chrome fan. I think all black is boring. Bring back the 60's-80's easy riders choppers, with chrome and candy colors!!! But that is a clean bike man.
Chrome is the new black - I think you made the right call 🔥
Chrome is definitely coming back. Blacked out looks dope but it's what everyone has. Like you said, it's nice to stand out a little. Looks killer.
I could have sworn more people had chrome than blacked out. Chrome has been the industry staple for like 50 years now, blacked out has been around maybe 5 to 10 on bikes. Either way rock with what you like; that’s what I do…. 🤔

Chrome is the original Harley look , chrome looks bad ass especially at night . I don’t regret getting chrome👍
Nothing looks better than chrome when it’s polished. Blacks best feature is lack of maintenance vs. chrome

I got black the black motor and I’m more than happy with it; my Magnum is all chrome. You made the best choice for you.
I bought a 2018 low rider last year. It was the first time I bought a bike with chrome and I love it. Never thought I would but it looks great.
Yea man chrome is special

Chrome makes any color pop
The chrome version. The black and red is it.
I think Chrome makes the bike look older. But in reality it depends on the color of the bike tbh. In your color combo, I’ll went with black.
I got the teal and chrome, love it!
I like the chrome, but there are a few parts that I would make black though 🤘🤘

my next Harley will be a chromed out tourer

It should come with crome lower fork tube since black version matches but beautiful bike
For sure man that’s one of the things I said when I first got the bike.

Chrome is my preference
No way, the chrome is way more dope. Black pipes just don't pop.
Throw some glow lights on your bike and you’ll never second guess that chrome 👍
I like chrome because mines a 2001. If that new bike has a dope fairing I’m going to finance that bad boy 👦
all black for sure
Chrome is the shittttt🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
i have a 21 RGS and its black on black. I think your bike looks good with the chrome though. Chrome is just not for me
I bought the 2021 street glide in chrome. I love it. I almost bought the black, but the pipes turned me off. Everyone has black.
I like both but lean towards the chrome
👍🏽
I have the same bike in Crome
Dude that chrome looks sick everyone got black lol

Chrome baby!
It’s not for me but chrome has a nice pop to it
With Some chrome bars it look good
