Claudio Roditi's "Piccolo Blues" Jazz Showcase May 13 2010

You don't encounter jazz soloists playing the piccolo trumpet very often -- its high pitch tests the lung power and embouchure of even the hardiest players. Roditi took up the challenge in his own "Piccolo Blues," showing little strain. The instrument's pungent colors and piercing tone explained Roditi's interest in it.
