With Pa going to the sale barn it proves to me that if the members can specialize in the different aspects of the total operation. That's that much more money in the pocket. I'm a dairyman. I'm better with the cows than my brother but he is a much better mechanic than I. Together we make a pretty good team I believe. That's what it is all about.
Putting the camera in the tree is genius! I heard the birds chirping. Your Dad is multi-talented: actor, singer, Julia Child impersonator, comedian, song historian, sale barn expert, cowboy and agronomist.
Thanks for another great video. It was interesting and enjoyable. Busy busy time getting ready for spring. Nice work getting the planter hooked up and getting it ready for putting the seed in the ground. I have a suggestion for you. Not telling you what to do. Just a suggestion. You were having trouble getting two hoses hooked up. You might want to clean both end up real good and put some lube on them. They might snap in then. I noticed the hose ends were really dirty. I would clean them up real good if it was mine. Might help you a bit. Lots goes in to getting a planter ready to go. Lots of adjustments and such. You did a great job Cole of getting the planter ready to go. Nice work. Your calf catcher worked wonderful I thought. Seemed easy to operate and you felt save inside of it. I thought it was a real good piece of equipment. Nice going Cole and uncle Jeff. Neat piece of equipment. You got some nice warm days to Work in. Good for you. Helps when you are busy. You and uncle Jeff are doing good with your calf’s. Hope that one with a sore leg gets better. Thanks for everything Cole. Take care and be safe. The Iowa Farm Boy.
“He’s Alive” as He promised. That Fast Calf Calf Catcher is the bees knees that’s for sure. Hey Cole, you won’t really start feeling the back until, til you’re about oh, 50 years old. Then you’ll feel it every day. Hey Jeff! I hope you guys calving season goes a good as at Brian’s. That’d be sweet. That is a beautiful baby boy out there looking all fancy. There’s Queen Ellie looking as beautiful as always. Every time the that folding piece of equipment unfolds I think there should be orchestra playing the 2001: A Space Odyssey or some such fanfare. That mean girl looks like she would try to mess up your day. Thanks for taking us along while you work raising food for folks. You’re always appreciated. Storla Station
Hi Cole and Brian. We have been watching you from Georgia, but I’m a West River Murdo,SD girl. You have helped my husband and I through some tough times just by watching you two work together and literally deal with sh**. You’ve given us joy and a distraction. Thank you and God bless.
While I was watching this video, I kept on hearing the Walker Hayes song "AA". "Trying hard not to be my old man but the older I get, the more I am". One day it will happen! It will be a nasty rainy day. The morning chores are done. Your kids will be off at school. Your wife will be one of those 100 "Banker Holidays" that they get. She will walk into you home office with nothing on but a smile! She ask what you are doing and without looking up you will say, " watching the cattle auctions, don't bother me" As she leaves the room you turn and glance at her and realize OMG I have become BRAIN!
Cole - I noted a couple things in this video. 1) Calf Catcher - slick! Not unlike a shark tank in that it keeps you safe. 2) Like Brian, Uncle Jeff is left-handed. Were either of their parents also left-handed? 3) Put some sunscreen on that nose, please (yours). 4) Thank you for wearing eye protection when under the tractor. 5) You do fine on your own on the farm, but you seem to be missing your best friend. Have a great day. Looking forward to the Bull Day video. :)
I love that calf catcher!!!!When you pulled up…. The look on that cows face..she was surprised!!!!! What a safe way to catch them calves!!! Have a great day!!!
Glad you guys are having much better weather. Late is better than never. Time to get ready to put crops in the ground. That song of the day by Big Daddy DJ Brian would make my middle little sister Karen happy. She has a really outstanding singing voice and loves singing songs by female country aristo. Patsy Cline is her favorite. She can perfectly nail the voice of all of them. She's made a lotta cash in bar singing contests.
Calf catcher new to me,it’s awesome. You’re doing an amazing job Cole, you keep yourself busy all the time. Look very knowledgeable with the farm machineries. Make your dad proud for sure.👍❤️🇨🇦
Brian, while I agree that your song of the day is a good one and Dolly did a great job of it. The song was written by a gentleman named Don Francisco. He won a Dove award in 1980 for Song of the Year.
Thank you for Easter commemorations. We also had Anzac Day on Tuesday 25/4/23 , Great success , lots of the young attending , morals are rising In Geraldton ,W.A
That is a nice way to catch calves, the calf catcher. My oldest son was rolled by his cow with a new born, she has always been friendly, but he had a bag with him that the cow didn't like. Good to see Jeff, I hope all is going good for him. Never a dull moment on a farm, but wow that draw bar on the JD is one heavy lift there. Nice one Cole, thanks and have a nice night.
Cole, Another great video, the fast "clav" catcher was cool, I think the mother was more excited than the little "clav", she was very chill about it. I had to wonder, as you pointed out the same cow twice as being mean, had she taken a run at you in the past? Missed Brian, hope he had a good time at the sale. God Bless
Passive scripture from Brian. One of the reasons I watch these two. And yes Cole it was time to wash the windows so time for Tiffany to say ours need a washing.
That’s what’s it all about, being in tune with the markets. Knowledge is key, in good decision making. Some will be winning decisions, some will be losing decision’s, it’s a game, make more winning decision’s than losing decision’s, and life runs a lot better. Positive mental attitude, plays a big part in good decision making. Be profitable and safe out there. Greetings from Ireland, where the grass is always greener, well that’s what they told me when I was a cub.👍
Cole, I really appreciate the genuine care and compassion you and your family has for your herd! It shows! Sure sign of good cattlemen! We all know what the ultimate end goal is, but quality of life along the way means a lot. That calf catcher is sweet! Looks like a really good year so far!
Glad to see the calf catcher at work. I was imagining you racing after a calf at a dead run and trying to put that cage over top of them. Your way makes a lot of sense. Keeping everyone safe.
According to my RUclips it looks like I have a couple more videos to watch but I'm pretty sure I've seen this one so I may have actually finally got to where I started before I started binge watching I think it was four years worth of watching. It's been nice going through this journey with you and your father. Getting to see you graduate from college grow into a man and now you're married and become quite a rancher.
Nice video my friend ❤❤❤♥ A very creative idea ❤❤❤❤ I look forward to seeing your designs. Congratulations on your journey forward 💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚
hmmm Mr. Cole, where did that "grower and shower language come from, I wonder..." On second thought, you better not answer. Never mind, that young bull is a winner for sure. Nice to see the calf catcher in use and really nice to see you getting ready for spring planting, a great time of year.
Cole, buy an empty 5gal pail, and a squeegee like the type at a gas station, pour a few jugs of washer fluid in and use that for the windows on the equipment, much cheaper and works great during winter and summer.
AH yes !! Hydraulic couplers! Ran into the same problem of hard to insert those things time and time again! 90% of the time was pressure in the hose and sometimes pressing in the ball sufficed and other times had to smack it with a hammer!! 🙄💪
Tough to be little & not know what's wrong. ---Brian, I know what fun it is to sit & watch auctions, even if I don't plan on buying anything! I consider it free entertainment!---Wow, that seeder moves like some huge alien bug!---Thanx for the weather report!
When Cole says “ really in tune with the market”………. Translation it’s nice to have Dad off the farm for the day! Lol. (just kidding because Brian would be an absolute delight to hang out with. ).
Who can argue with Dolly Parton's voice and her business sense? We took in her rodeo show at Branson. They served a meal as well. I thought Brian might choose the song, "I can see clearly now" after you cleaned the windows on the tractor cab. 😬 Your channel always is entertaining but we know that you all can be serious as well. Blessings.
I remember when hooking up hydraulic tools back in my job at the fire department. We would have hoses not hook up too. Usually we would hit concrete or pavement with the point of the connection. For some reason it releases a little pressure. Then hookup was easy. Just a guess. I know absolutely nothing about tractors.
Love the videos! Always great to watch you guys work routine as I wind wind down from hard day at work. I miss raising Angus, but I'll get back into it in a few years. May God continue to bless you and your family Cole!
Another great video Cole, thanks for sharing this. Question, prior to starting planting what other maintenance will you be performing to that rig? I assume there are grease fittings throughout the system that you filled off camera. Could you power wash the hose connectors where they are plugged into the system; they looked almost furry.? Wishing you and your family a blessed week, gentle weather and restful evenings. Peace brother

Love the song and the message Brian.

Uncle Jeff must be a valid candidate for becoming the calf assistant of the month😂
He taught Cole & Me

With Brain out watching and spreading the bull it was good to see Ellie help you hook up the clave catcher.
The calf catcher worked pretty darn great!!!!!!

Good to see the calf catcher in use and getting the planter out means spring can’t be far away.

Much appreciated Tom!
Another great video 👍👏👏👏 thank you - from a follower in Lincolnshire UK 🇬🇧
I was waiting for Marlin Perkins to start narrating the calf catching. Maybe a little Wild Kingdom music.
For sure checking into getting the Fast Catch
Glad to see the calf catcher at work. I was imagining you racing after a calf at a dead run and trying to put that cage over top of them. Your way makes a lot of sense. Keeping everyone safe.

A Sonne Farm/Storla Station/Ellie/baby clave coloring book. Cost quite a bit to do it and you might even break even. Sort of like farming.
Cole, buy an empty 5gal pail, and a squeegee like the type at a gas station, pour a few jugs of washer fluid in and use that for the windows on the equipment, much cheaper and works great during winter and summer.
Always a great video when Jeff’s in it ! SONNE PORK !!!
Sonne Pork! Follow on instagram
Awesome Video and Much Love as Always 🌞 Farms!!!
I had a moment where I thought you might try to catch Ellie in the calf catcher. Next time!
AH yes !! Hydraulic couplers! Ran into the same problem of hard to insert those things time and time again!
90% of the time was pressure in the hose and sometimes pressing in the ball sufficed and other times had to smack it with a hammer!! 🙄💪
Yay Calf Catcher!
Enjoyed the seeder work and the off screen grunting.
Stay safe!

adding comment for the rating algorithm because Cole deserves the best.
Running the bulls throughthe pressure washer would make great video worthy of a some other Hollywood award!
Great mix of chores today
I'm with Brian, I love going to the sale barn. And leave the young ones home to do the heavy lifting Lol
You Dad taught you well. I guess living on a farm you have to learn most trades to keep everything running.
When Cole says “ really in tune with the market”………. Translation it’s nice to have Dad off the farm for the day! Lol. (just kidding because Brian would be an absolute delight to hang out with. ).
hehehe yes
Brilliant just brilliant great thanks for your videos
Well done young man, well done...
0:38 LOVE the clean windows!🎉
Get it right, people, it's a clave clatcher.
You guys really make my day. Thanks so much.
Yes He Has Risen 🙏🙏
Well Cole the calf catcher worked rather well. That would be real handy to have, you can use it for other animals.
Hello Cole and Brian awesome video stay safe and blessed outthere Rosa
Your definition of Brain “taking the day off” for some people is an entire career in ‘Market Research.’
Glad to see you guys get some nicer weather! Those remaining heifers are likely waiting for a thunderstorm to stress them into calving. (not so lol)
Can't wait to see those JD in the fields prepping and planting! The calf catcher is genius.
Hey Cole, wasn't 140 the pipe licker? I'm glad to see the weather's warming up. Thanks for sharing, guys
That was sweet, getting to see you use the cafe catcher!
Another AWESOME video.
You are like a surgeon with that bale lifter 🤔😳🙂. Great job.
Blessings.
Really didn't think the calf catcher was a viable solution but it seems to work well.
That's more hose than the Bunny Ranch.
I'm looking forward to the new season have a day love from TEXAS
That’s a great song sung by a great singer!
Good to see your calf catcher in action.👍
Nice calf catchin', Cole ! 👍
It's crazy !
When 😂 was passing thou 2 weeks ago it was in the 90's !
Good video nice to see Jeff on the video
Calf catchers are very convenient.
Isn't #140 Mike? You remember the calf that was lacking the barn wall and any metal he could find.😂
Now I’ve seen it all-Cole is actually wearing gloves and top that, safety glasses too! Don’t get those hands raw Cole! Hi Uncle Jeff!
I got a song of the day for you two. It’s The Who’s Teenage Waste Land. Fit you to a tee!! Roll on real spring!!!!!
Glad you're watching out for the mean ones!
Love the videos! Always great to watch you guys work routine as I wind wind down from hard day at work. I miss raising Angus, but I'll get back into it in a few years. May God continue to bless you and your family Cole!
Nice to see the little ones laying in the nice straw sleeping in the sun.
You need a Xboom Coupler for those disconnects. Gotta keep them clean too.
Finally! The catcher in action 👍👍
Hi from the Tully farm in Manhattan Kansas.
Thank you very much
Never dull moment on the farm Son😂 planting time is here?
This is going to be good I have used a calf catcher before and it is amazing
It worked great 👍👍
thank you
I happy the weather is finally getting warmer for you guys.
Bull Day is coming -- does that mean Stroopwafels too!
Fantastic song of the day!!!❤
Calf catcher looks awesome!
All good with the calves...2023 is going to be a banner year!
That calf catcher is a nifty tool! 😃
You made it look easy Cole
Wow, the air seems much cleaner in South Dakota now!!
Another great video Cole, thanks for sharing this. Question, prior to starting planting what other maintenance will you be performing to that rig?
