- Distilled Coca Cola Moonshine Cocktails - @WhiskeyTribe Collab
I took a little trip to Austin Texas to hang out with the Whiskey Tribe at Crowded Barrel distillery. They had followed our recipe for 1886 Coca Cola, fermented it and I was there for the distillation.
What came off the still tasted great; so I brought some home and we made cocktails!

I will once again be flying in the Give Hope Wings fundraiser this year! Our June of 2024 flight will see us stop in many communities in Eastern Canada to raise awareness for this worthy cause.
Last year 2023 we raised over $27,000 towards helping our neighbours - we made a positive difference in the lives of many.

"You're never going to taste this, and I feel sad for you."
But Glen did not look sad.
A little sad
2024 is shaping up to be The Year of Sassy/Snarky Glen! 😀 (But the earnesty makes it all work)
Give us the recipe for the coke spirit and some of us could make it. If you get my drift.😊
I enjoy a little sass from Glen lol@@noelwade
@@quarlow1215 I'm pretty sure the whiskey tribe video had everything you need if are an experienced distiller. And some of us are considering doing this because we do spend time in places where home distilling is legal. So no need to catch your drift I think.
It's already been 5 years? I believe those cola videos is how I found your channel.
That, and KFC for me..
KFC
I was happily surprised to see you on Whiskey Tribe, love to see the collaboration and recognition!
As a non drinker, this was still very fun to watch.❤

Loved the cola videos. It's what started my watching Glen and Friends.
Me too!
Glen's ability to maintain a poker face and not give away his emotional response to a taste right away is incredible lol
I feel like you've gotta make a Cuba Libre with your Squozen Cola and then the Coke moonshine
Glen is a very pleasant speaker and it is not just the timbre of your voice. I've known it all along but I just really realized it.
Is it the long O sound? Trebek, Degrassi, etc...
"Can I borrow a dollar to go to McDonald's for a Coke?"
Kidding aside, he is a great presenter.
Pemberton was an officer in the confederacy and was wounded and became addicted to opium that was given to him as a painkiller, and in his effort to become not addicted to opiates he shifted to cocaine and look for an alternative to cocaine to beat his addiction. Voila! Coca Cola!
Subscribed for 5+ yrs , Sunday a.m. wouldn't be the same w/o G & J... Love this channel. Also a Whisky Tribe watcher..
This episode is truly special. So awesome!
I love the fact that Glen knows why Julie doesn't like something without her telling him, you get the feeling they know each other better than they know themselves
This 1886 spirit sounds intriguing. Sure would like to try. Hoping they could bring the 1886 recipe into production then into this spirit. Naming it 1886 might be a way to get around brand name issues that might arise
my two favorite channels double collaboration... perfect. thanks
I'm loving the long, slow development of today's video.
This is a collaboration I never would have expected to see!! I love it!!
Lotta happy hand waving goin' on! Y'all be having a happy and blessed day now! 💖✝
When Glenn Gets Excited It just warms the heart❤
I am so thrilled by this collaboration between some of my favorite RUclipsrs, who I hadn't even known were aware of each other!
Great deep dive. Thank you for "nerding" out on this one.
It's 9am, so i guess i could have just a plain old iced coke😂
New Orleans Distillers! Well make it with you Glen! Contact us
Yes!!! Please make it!
faaaaah, love this collaboration. North meets texas! :head exploding:
This isn't a collab I knew I needed!
So Coketails?
That would be something to write home about.
that was fun Glen!
How did I just find out that this collab happened? Excited to watch both videos!
Bravo bravo great show as always thank you kindly.
Good morning from Jacksonville, Florida.
These sound really good. It does make me sad I'll never get to try these, or coke and coke. But sadness is what makes us more human than human.
I feel sad for me too. lol ...now that I'm totally intrigued.
I don't drink... yet here I am!
You SHOULD be making that.
Branding needs to be along the lines of 1886 By Crowded Glen (Hey now hey now don't dream it's over)
I'm already in line for a bottle.
Now we just need to get Crowded Barrel moving on it - I'm all in for whatever help I can bring.
Dad used to recollect the days in Eastern Tennessee where as a kid it was a real treat to get a glass bottle of Coke (AKA a 'dope') and moonshine from the filling station wait, I mean Moon Pie!
I don't want to rile up those damn revenuers! Not a drop of untaxed, unlicensed liquor has ever been near my family...
Another great video. I'd love to try that Coca-Cola moonshine
Certainly seems the sort of thing that would sell if you made it available and I thought the same watching the Whiskey Tribe video. Call it "merch" or make it a serious endeavour, either way make sure you're shipping to the UK as I want to try it!
OMG, I haven't watched this yet but just seeing it makes me so happy. Love both channels.
Yup, definitely need to have this as an actual spirit made by Crowded Barrel, plus it will be easy for me to get 😂
This looks amazing! You would use most of your useful load bringing all the bottles needed to make the new york minute...
It worked out really well - now I need a full cask of it aging for the next 3-5 years so I can test it again.
Looks tasty. I wonder if an old fashioned made with the spirit and 7X syrup would taste good? I hope they make a barrel or 2 so one day we can buy some
It would work really well I think
I've been watching your videos for five years? Wow! I remember when. you did the Coca Cola video and was eager to see how it came out, given that I'd heard about the recipe a few years before that video.
I wish I could taste that Coca Cola rum!
URMAGURD!!!! My two favorite RUclips channels combined!!!!! Visited the Fang and Feather twice last fall (from Michigan) and had a great time!!
I love a good traditional daiquiri, wish I could give this one a taste.
I want a bottle. Need a crowd funding effort.
This sounds like something many would like to try. Definitely needs to be made! Love your reactions to this spirit and those cocktails. I love Coke. It is my go to pop/soda
Cool!
When I saw you on their channel I was excited, the follow ups here are even better. Also, those seem dangerous in the best possible way.
If you ever dome it, I would love to try it because I don't live to far from them.
Clearly you both are having a lot of fun doing this tasting - and, yes, I feel sorry that I am not able to be there enjoying it with you. I have never heard of a “ New York minute “, but I will definitely be looking into it.
I was excited to see the Whiskey Tribe video when Glen Showed up. The Crowded Barrel Distillery is one of my favorite places to go here in Austin. Rex and Daniel are so nice and approachable and fun to talk too. I've been going there for about 3 years now. I was very happy to see this collaboration. I enjoy trying the different "Will it Distill" spirits they do at Whiskey Tribe. I hope that the Coca Cola spirit is available the next time I visit.
Glen: Interesting to watch something I totally don't understand. Four glasses of Passover wine is my "speed" and yearly limit. Respectfully, W.S.
I live in Virginia and Franklin County has been known for its moonshine!! Years ago I had a sip and I think steam came out of my ears!! LOL!!
I wonder if it would be good with ginger beer, with or without lime. Bright n' Stormy!
What a great collab! fun to watch! cheers!
Coca Coliquor! This sounds amazing. 😂
Glen...
Where are the coca leaves???
To offset the morphine???
2 of my favorite creators
So is this going to be a new on offer from the distillery?
I'm pulling for it!
Please make it!
Now I want an Old Fashioned Coke Old Fashioned
It takes quite a bit to make me want to brew at home... but I'm feeling the itch!
Cola addict. I used Constant Comment & Cinnamon Spice teas to break my 12 pack a day habit. (Orange with cinnamon)
Rum and coke 🤚
Rum IS coke 👍
That daiquiri-ish sounds wonderful!
It was really good!
love you guys!would llove to come hang out!
Feeling sad for us? Alleviate your guilt in one easy step: get Whiskey Tribe / Crowded Barrel to set up a pre-order system. Help us prove there's enough demand to make a batch. 😀
Working in the background to make this happen - if Whiskey Tribe won't, I know a local distillery here that will.
@@GlenAndFriendsCooking - Oooh, think of the crossover opportunity between channels! "Glen's Hangar" becomes "The Flying Bootlegger" 😀
Can you see how different it would be to add the extracts to a vodka and see how the two compare? You might be able to get something very similar that way.
While you were in Austin, did you happen to take a little trip out to Dripping Springs to check out the Family Business Beer Company? Craft brewery.. food trucks outside.. sometimes a band. It would have been the season for it.. you know, not 102 degrees in the shade.
Unfortunately I didn't see much - I was there for barely 36 hours.
@@GlenAndFriendsCooking I had a trip to Portland like that once.. more time dealing with transportation than actually on the ground in town.
So what did you think of the campus/grounds? I've been out there in 3 seasons and the changes reveal a new beauty each time. Hummingbirds in the summer mornings, cold wet stones of winter, and the spring explosion of color.
As for thinking straight it might not happen if a somm takes you to the vault.
It was great, I didn't get much of a chance to wander around but I did get a tour.
Coca Cola rum commercially when
Don´t feal bad for me, alcohol is not really my thing and even less if it has sugar in it, cocktails are never in my mind when I think of having a good time. Still interesting as all things human.
Whiskey Tribe!!!!!
Great video guys!! I was thinking as you were discussing daiquiri's - The rum itself really makes a difference as well. I did a similar tasting where the formula was the same but with many different types. 12 year old Eldorado and the 7 year old cuban rum both had fantastic results.
This would be a interesting scaled spirit run but I have no idea how to market it without copyright issues but I see no reason why people wouldn’t buy it
You just have to make the name a little more generic - 1886 Cola Moonshine is what I'm going with. Walk up to the edge, without treading on their trademark.
Woah fun seeing two channels you watch magically appear together! Pretty cool stuff
You would have to figure out how to market this should you choose to produce it, since you couldn’t use the C word name due to copyright and patent laws. Pemburton special formula?
The collab really made me want to try the coke and coke
The first time I have seen you both looking like you are going to get well and truly drunk.
I spent way too much time trying to come up with a potential name for a Coke based spirit. My mind kept wandering to Scotch Whisky names and the best I came up with is Glencaraid….Glen (obvious) and Google translate tells me caraid is Scots Gaelic for friend…so Glen and Friends.
Lol, the question is, when did they cut the cocaine out of the coke?
That is one science experiment I can get behind... when exactly does it go into production? Rex?
🎶In a New York Minute ooh-ooh-ooh LOL I got The Eagles on my brain, I would luv to try that NY Minute cocktail
Maybe don’t put the lav mic directly against your throat so we don’t have to listen to you swallow. 😂❤
The accountants and marketing people at Coca-Cola took a great thing and screwed it up. I cannot stand what it has become, even mixing it with decent rum or bourbon.
Where's the cocaine?
