@@slanggemz2419 idk what to tell you it came quick tho I had to redownload the extra they some lager downloads also so I did everything from my phone also so I could only download 1 at time because of the files size still it didn't take long for that either I hope you get things up and running soon this is cool being able to used this with both of my midi controllers I have a nektar impact lx25 and a nanopad22 by korg they both work with this software the midi learn I haven't figured that out I don't really need to yet still I would like to use my transport controls with my nektar also so just letting you know you will enjoy it alot like I am 👍🏾👍🏾🔥🔥🔥
This is fantastic and in keeping with Logic’s 10.5 update - they had to do this - was made for customers like me. I have a renaissance on 1.9 - why should I pay £200 to get the new software which comes with the MPC One. This new Beats is fantastic because it stays up there in MPC sampling workflow and rivals logic but now you can use not just good MPC plugins but Pro Worldclass - this is where Alain needs to be - thanks to the team - don’t change the MPC formula ✅✅
If there is such an award as best free software product of the year, then this should win it hands down.. smart move by akai making it free, even I'm thinking about buying hardware just to make it easier to use!!
Can't wait 2 get mines!!! I'm a rapper but I always wanted 2 make beats but it always looked so difficult, but I said the same thing about protools but I was forced 2 learn how 2 learn how 2 record & mix, but when I was watchinganother video on this when the dude hit record & also how it looked on screen, a light bulb came on in my head b/c it looked like how my sessions look in protools. I never felt that feeling b4 b/c that was the 1st time I seen someone make a beat like that with hardware b/c when I see most people make beats they do it with the software ware, & I always wanted a beat machine too but I always thought it was going 2 be like 10 bands. I'm so ready 2 try this out
@@mooklane Nice! @ an 8 track limit I'd use it as a plugin. Not enough tracks to use as a standalone version (imo). I blow through 8 tracks with just the melody alone lol. Of course you could always merge tracks but I like the nondestructive nature of _relatively_ unlimited tracks. At the same time it is free so I'm definitely not complaining!
@@lyteyearz5810 indeed! I got the full version with my Mpc one it is a killer but as far as DAW it is better to use as plugin in another DAW for better results because there are some things missing to bring it to the boss level.

I'm working with the Akai MPK mini MK3, but i have a question: How do I stop the repeat of a song? for example I have a sample chopped & setup with a beat, everything is ok until I hit the spacebar to stop all the music, & when that happens, the sample continues to play for about 3 or 4 seconds then it stops. What can I do to relieve that?
Wow. I just bought Akai Mini Plus controller and i'm ready to rap the Snap - Rhythm is a dancer! I love mpc beats and akai mini plus. I also have a m-audio oxygen pro mini. It would be a plus if i add a second controller to my setup? Can i set an instrument (track) on one controller and another on the other controller?this way i can record in the same time 2 tracks? Ok I downloaded all this and followed this video and I can't even get the track to play when you started it at 2:09 . My program does absolutely nothing. It doesn't recognize the midi I plugged in even though it's an Akai MPK mini. I'm pretty annoyed. I can't even log into the website after registering an account.
Thank you very much Andy. I already installed the MPC Beats and I’m really impressed from the quality of sounds and samples and from the workflow which looks very fast and pleasant to use. Now I’m thinking to upgrade to the MPC 2 software. From Akai the only controller that I have is the Fire, for the FL Studio, and I’m wondering if it works with the MPC Beats, I will try it today anyway. So, I hope Akai to release soon a new midi keyboard controller with advanced integration with the MPC Beats and the MPC 2.0 software. My only question about the MPC Beats is that when I try to set the tempo at 90.00 it returns it to 120.00, so maybe this is a limitation of this basic version or I’m doing something wrong?
Alex, the DAW Tempo is the master which MPCBeats follows. Simply change FL's tempo and you're good. When using MPCBeats software standalone, you can set the master tempo in the program. .
Midi learn doesnt seem to be working?? Just tried it but mini play is not supported? Was hoping this be ideal for my daughter...but keys work so dug out m audio trigger finger n that triggers pads....but midi learn def not working (I own mpc live)

The F9 Instruments Pack needs to be installed seperatly. You can find the download link to the installer in the email you received under "Included Content". After installation, you should be able to find the F9 instruments in the Media browser. You can access the Media Browser in the Status Bar (bottom right of the program) or by pressing 'B' on your keyboard.
You click on the 'Free Download'. That opens a small popup with three *blank* text boxes that don't tell you what to put in there, answer some stuff, click the 'I'm not a Robot' thing, receive a message that the download link will be sent to your email and.... *NOTHING HAPPENS* I've been waiting for this damn email for almost a week.
This is so frustrating. I just want to know how to set sounds to the keyboard and beat pad and have the ability to record and adjust the sounds I place.

He was reviewing it, gave it a good review said it was great, he had a few minor gripes, one of them was it had no 808 slides option. My guess, he talking about how trap producers use the slide in fl studio. But, my take on the software is it looks damn good. 👍🔥👏

D-One so you can open it in a daw....I know you can open VSTs in the software but if they are giving away this and it'll open on a daw there is no reason to use anything else but this for drums
@@Craftmaster3 That's a fair point, on the other hand people would complain if it didn't open in a DAW. It doesn't seem like people are interested in replacing their DAW's with anything standalone-sofrware that also doesn't work as a plugin.

I will tell you this i spent alot of money on a mpc one i tried to download mpc beats about 9 times and they have not sent me a link on my email yet I dont have to tell you how I feel about the akai support they suck!!!!!
I wonder what system new beatmakers will go to.. the free MPC Beats or Maschine. And after getting used to the MPC workflow they get the hardware. This is a smart move :)
Where can they go other than standalone Maschine? and I can't see that happening anytime soon (as they try to keep flogging us another over-priced paltry sound pack). They must be sweating hard.....
@@fincorrigan7139 the last thing I read about Native Instruments said they're switching most of their focus to VSTs. That was a few months ago. I think NI has the film scoring crowd in their pocket. Along with their incredibly high prices, I'm sure they're okay without a few thousand music producers buying their products.

This is mad confusing. How do I even access the sounds in the first place. If I open up an empty project, I can't even input anything because there are no programs available to choose from.
Yeah, he skips over a lot of key components. You have to add them from the expansion browser. If you hit X, it will open the panel. It should be a list of things that comes with the program. When you drill down, you will see programs. Double click on the programs you want to use and they will automatically load into programs to choose from.
It was so confusing. I just got it today and had to figure it out/ watch videos then the application crashed! How are you doing with it?? Does it get easier lmao
I played around with MPC - Beats for a few days now. A really great product. It's fun to work with and thats for free. I only have two small feature requests: 1. that you can select the installation paths of program and content manually during installation. 2. VST3 support. Otherwise there is nothing to complain about. 😁
Getting hang of the this now... thanks Akai :) But damn, this software is kind of a mess. Forever flicking between views for almost everything....& you guys know that you can right-click mouse on a PC for targeted menus etc right? ;) Strangely zero utilisation of right-click anywhere at all in the software....instead gotta fly around all over the screen and views....And even weirder to find this doesn’t have super basic fundamentals like double-click a parameter knob or mixer level etc to reset it to defaults. I actually like the software overall and I’m buying an mpc...and for free I can’t complain....but still...PC workflow & gui need some love pronto..
Half the things I tried following this tutorial didn't work with my MPK Mini MKIII... I've been over an hour on a 16 minutes tutorial. Sure, blame me... although I don't normally have this amount of issues with tutorials..
What was Akai thinking calling it "Beats". It is absolutely impossible to search for anything on the Internet about this software without coming up with decades worth of information about... BEATS.
I am so confused on this its not even funny. Not sure how to learn the program with so much stuff, the main problem is I can't even find this stuff on the program.
It is not working with the Outlook, Hotmail or Yahoo mail, if you have a gmail account use it, otherwise you will need to create one to receive the link....that will work.
*This innovation for this DAW running as a VSTI plugin is ingenious!* *I am still totally floored by the power and advantages it brings to my favorite DAW, Magix Music Maker.* Yes, I use that basic DAW but for a pro, you can do things so ridiculously fast vs any other DAW, I have no reason to return to the others I'm also a wizard in. MPC as a DAW and Plugin fills in every gap possible. Just as a drum machine VST-I, even for a thousand bucks, you wouldn't be able to get something better.
Looking like they mixed FL studio and Maschine together- Wish FL studio would let you change time sig of the Chanel strip so u can program triplets etc
In this video it looks and sounds like the preview of samples is playing automatically. On my program, when I click on a sample, it does not play? How can I preview/hear a sample? Is there a button for this? Now I have to move it over to actually hear the sound of it. I am coming from a daw less world and I don’t understand much! I see there is a lot of potential! I own the Akai MPK mini mark 3.

Hi, I just bought the Mk3 yesterday and downloaded the software, but when I opened the MPC Beats, there's no sound at all & I got the message that "no audio output device is installed". It's so frustrating. I'm not sure if I got a faulty mk3 & plan to return it.
Around 7:17, they flash in the left upper quad the expansion pack "Trap Soul & LoFi Beats". You have buy it and load it from the expansion browser. Jan 2021 $9.99 (US). (Over in lower left in expansion browser window, it is last one in list under Programs, LoFi)
Akai really need to get rid of Retronyms for developing their IOS apps, to me it just seems like no one at Retronyms ever really used a hardware MPC as their go to. This would definitely be great for IOS, IMPC doesn't even have keygroups.
I have a problem with mpc beats when I hit the keys on the midi or keyboard my sounds, sound horrible like they barely c ome in with like a little echoe, can u help me?
This is fair garbage. Crashes as a vst. Doesn't resemble classic Akai workflow in that is is nothing like the process of operating a classic sampler. It is just overfeatured modern DAW rubbish. Appreciate it is free, but does not make me even slightly interested in the paid version, which is more of the same above. I have settled to using vMPC vst now (2000xl emulation not even made by Akai) which works with my pads and as a vst. Come on Akai, grow a pair and make some emulators, a bit like what roland have done with their cloud and leave this trash behind.
Reason #1 to not buy any Akai Product is , that you never get any answer from them when contacting the support. Seams to be common to this group AIR Music Technology is the same s**it who sells broken software and do not answer any support requests, they simply do not care. But back to teh topic, I tried beats and it still have that off behavior when you click a volume fader that the fader jumps to teh mouse instread of staying in place.

this video did not help AT ALL when it came to the sampling section. like it looks like he skipped steps on how to set it up. I literally watched that section over and over and over again and followed EVERYTHING this man was saying. I honestly dont know how to add a sample to a pad when all my stuff is filled. It looked like he either: A. just so happened to have an empty pad open B. his whole set was custom made and was able to put something there i really need a video that does a step by step on how to set up the sampling cause i REALLY want to do that and again this video is not helpful in that sense.
So new MPDs and Keyboard controllers are coming out to compliment this? If so, smart business move and well played.
That would be a good idea... the mpds i hear have faulty pads on triggering...mpk pads seems to be better

Double-check you have your controller set as an active MIDI input under the Audio/MIDI Setup menu.

The F9 Instruments Pack needs to be installed seperatly. You can find the download link to the installer in the email you received under "Included Content". After installation, you should be able to find the F9 instruments in the Media browser. You can access the Media Browser in the Status Bar (bottom right of the program) or by pressing 'B' on your keyboard.
You click on the 'Free Download'. That opens a small popup with three *blank* text boxes that don't tell you what to put in there, answer some stuff, click the 'I'm not a Robot' thing, receive a message that the download link will be sent to your email and.... *NOTHING HAPPENS*

D-One so you can open it in a daw....I know you can open VSTs in the software but if they are giving away this and it'll open on a daw there is no reason to use anything else but this for drums

It doesn't seem like people are interested in replacing their DAW's with anything standalone-sofrware that also doesn't work as a plugin.

You have to fill out a form with your name\email and a couple of other questions. Then they send the download links to your email.

@@fincorrigan7139 the last thing I read about Native Instruments said they're switching most of their focus to VSTs. That was a few months ago. I think NI has the film scoring crowd in their pocket. Along with their incredibly high prices, I'm sure they're okay without a few thousand music producers buying their products.

This is mad confusing. How do I even access the sounds in the first place. If I open up an empty project, I can't even input anything because there are no programs available to choose from.

Yeah, he skips over a lot of key components. You have to add them from the expansion browser. If you hit X, it will open the panel. It should be a list of things that comes with the program. When you drill down, you will see programs. Double click on the programs you want to use and they will automatically load into programs to choose from.

I played around with MPC - Beats for a few days now. A really great product. It's fun to work with and thats for free.
I only have two small feature requests:
1. that you can select the installation paths of program and content manually during installation.
2. VST3 support.
Otherwise there is nothing to complain about. 😁

Getting hang of the this now... thanks Akai :) But damn, this software is kind of a mess. Forever flicking between views for almost everything....& you guys know that you can right-click mouse on a PC for targeted menus etc right? ;) Strangely zero utilisation of right-click anywhere at all in the software....instead gotta fly around all over the screen and views....And even weirder to find this doesn’t have super basic fundamentals like double-click a parameter knob or mixer level etc to reset it to defaults. I actually like the software overall and I’m buying an mpc...and for free I can’t complain....but still...PC workflow & gui need some love pronto..

Half the things I tried following this tutorial didn't work with my MPK Mini MKIII... I've been over an hour on a 16 minutes tutorial. Sure, blame me... although I don't normally have this amount of issues with tutorials..

It is not working with the Outlook, Hotmail or Yahoo mail, if you have a gmail account use it, otherwise you will need to create one to receive the link....that will work.

Yes, I use that basic DAW but for a pro, you can do things so ridiculously fast vs any other DAW, I have no reason to return to the others I'm also a wizard in.
MPC as a DAW and Plugin fills in every gap possible.
Just as a drum machine VST-I, even for a thousand bucks, you wouldn't be able to get something better.

In this video it looks and sounds like the preview of samples is playing automatically. On my program, when I click on a sample, it does not play? How can I preview/hear a sample? Is there a button for this? Now I have to move it over to actually hear the sound of it. I am coming from a daw less world and I don’t understand much! I see there is a lot of potential! I own the Akai MPK mini mark 3.

Hi, I just bought the Mk3 yesterday and downloaded the software, but when I opened the MPC Beats, there's no sound at all & I got the message that "no audio output device is installed". It's so frustrating. I'm not sure if I got a faulty mk3 & plan to return it.

Where do you get the LoFi LS kit from? I only see my "Program 001" as an option.
Around 7:17, they flash in the left upper quad the expansion pack "Trap Soul & LoFi Beats". You have buy it and load it from the expansion browser. Jan 2021 $9.99 (US). (Over in lower left in expansion browser window, it is last one in list under Programs, LoFi)

Akai really need to get rid of Retronyms for developing their IOS apps, to me it just seems like no one at Retronyms ever really used a hardware MPC as their go to. This would definitely be great for IOS, IMPC doesn't even have keygroups.

Doesn't resemble classic Akai workflow in that is is nothing like the process of operating a classic sampler. It is just overfeatured modern DAW rubbish.
Appreciate it is free, but does not make me even slightly interested in the paid version, which is more of the same above.
I have settled to using vMPC vst now (2000xl emulation not even made by Akai) which works with my pads and as a vst.
Come on Akai, grow a pair and make some emulators, a bit like what roland have done with their cloud and leave this trash behind.

Reason #1 to not buy any Akai Product is , that you never get any answer from them when contacting the support.
Seams to be common to this group AIR Music Technology is the same s**it who sells broken software and do not answer any support requests, they simply do not care.
But back to teh topic, I tried beats and it still have that off behavior when you click a volume fader that the fader jumps to teh mouse instread of staying in place.

this video did not help AT ALL when it came to the sampling section. like it looks like he skipped steps on how to set it up.
I literally watched that section over and over and over again and followed EVERYTHING this man was saying. I honestly dont know how to add a sample to a pad when all my stuff is filled. It looked like he either:
A. just so happened to have an empty pad open
B. his whole set was custom made and was able to put something there
i really need a video that does a step by step on how to set up the sampling cause i REALLY want to do that and again this video is not helpful in that sense.
