Nice review! Ive been looking for a trail tire that isnt slow but also not riddled with flats like some xc tires do. Currently have dirt wizards that are heavy and slow but never had a puncture.

These tires are awesome. Had them on my ebike. Then went to E- Mazza for now on the ebike since I wore out the Aggoros, to try the Mazzas now.
I podiumed my last 4 XC 25 mile races on their Mezcal Trail 2.6 x 29 front and rear on my analogue full suspension. Love them.
Mezcals are my favorite Vittoria tires. Your 2.4 Race up front and 2.6 Trail in the back is spot on thinking. You cannot even get a 2.6 in the Mezcal Race tire but only 2.4. And! They do not make the Mezcal Trail in a 2.6.
So I like your thinking on that and that is why Vittoria did that. And?
You can count on no punctures with the Mezcals. We ride the sharp evil moonstone jagged edge rock trails in Georgetown and these tires just laugh at these rocks. I roll the Mezcals through these rocks with no line picked out in full confidence. Again...your front 2.4 front thinking is spot on.
I run 2.8 x 27.5 Bontrager Xr3 front and rear in my hard tail. (The racing tread of the Xr2 and the side knobs of the Xr4 make the Xr3). And they fly!
For racing I will stick with Mezcals.
By the way - I ran 25 rear and 22 front on the ebike Mazzas and they fly.
Curious what your PSI thinking is on 2.4 f and 2.6 r for Mezcal.

@@richardwebb3013 I'm thinking I might run the same PSI front and rear as I'll need more in the narrower tire even though it's on the front. Maybe 20 to 21 on both for actual XC?

Sure. I ran 23r 21f on my races with the Mezcals. I weigh 205 WITH the bike and water/gear.
