    Sanne: this is just to let you know that a sum of money is on its way to your BPI (Surigao) account, to be used in the disaster relief effort that you are organising. It should arrive by tomorrow. Thank you for all that you are doing, to help the Philippines (my wife's home country). Malcolm Dragon.

    Hi Sanne, First of all, I want to thank you for devoting your life to helping the locals of Siargao by providing jobs to them. I visited the island in 1990 for a project on rural electrification when it was just a sleepy island only known by few locals and international surfers for its beautiful white sand beaches and world class waves for surfing. I'm heartbroken to see the aftermath. Siargao has a soft spot in my heart. The locals are hospitable. I just sent a little help a few minutes ago (through paypal) and have shared your channel to my family and friends. You are all in our prayers. In God's Infinite Grace, we will rebuild one day at a time.

I just hope your thoughts and aspirations for the island people won't vanish but will be fulfilled your wished for them..They need people like you, you are one of their inspirators.. Lots of donations and aids were pouring to the devastated areas already and more coming.. Time in the future will come and we'll be seeing them back to normal again.. Take care..

    Praying for all the affected families and we pray that all the communities can recover from this soon. Thank you so much for your care and concern to our fellow Filipinos there and you have a big heart and we feel the pain you feel from the devastation that have happened. Stay strong and stay safe and praying that more help will come to the community and the families and that you will be able to reach to as many people to help and support those affected by super typhoon Odette. I know Filipinos are resilient and may God bless us all.

    batanes residents know how to build houses against typhoons. metal roofing on island structures looks more vulnerable than nipa. and using glass sheets as doors and windows on high sea wind areas may look modern but unsuitable and dangerous in a time when supertyphoons are becoming to be the norm

    Lets hope when BongBong and Sara run the country, they will focus on Healthcare and Welfare in Mindanoa its about time Siargao and other areas has its own super Healthcare centre.

    Whatever cash or money that i will recieve we will buy some goods to put inside the box.....and including my salary for the month december i will buy a slippers for the kids to put on the box....only my problem now is to find people where i address the box to bring it over to siargao

      just send cash, its the smartest way to send help. let them do the buying because they would know exactly what they need. having parcels in manila would be cumbersome.

    i hope that there will be a masterplan to rebuild Siargao and return its glory into a modern design bahay kubo's and dome type tourist flat/apartment or batanes like houses or any modern design that can withstand major calamities with minimal damages if in case it will happen again in the future.

  • @rosey2349

    Siargao will rise again..and ready for new tourists again in God's perfect Time..we understand your decision.. Family First..but you will always be welcomed in Siargao..perhaps you will be the conduit for all the donations where ever you will stay in Manila.

    When a person builds his house on the Train Tracks the inevitable happens!,, When a person builds his house where Typhoons and Tropical storms come at least 20 times a year what will happen is what will happen to the house on the Train Tracks. What would a WISE person do???

    • @stephenday3417
      @stephenday3417 2 года назад +5

      Russell, the owner of the house has no legs. How do you expect him to get off the tracks without assistance? Most are too poor to move or travel. Your analogy sounds condescending sir.

    You don't know if people will ever recover? Well they have no choice. They have to stay there. I see very little government aid coming. Why is no one talking about that.
