This was a guy who was once the king of hearts in the TV world and the same fire is still visible in him, but I haven't seen Kanwaljit ji for a long time, my eyes got wet once after seeing him.
I have known him for a long time and the advantage of living in BHEL Haridwar was that his brother's wife, who was a teacher in BHEL KV No 1, was a very close friend of my sister, so I got a chance to know her closely. Very good, excellent artist and owner of beautiful personality. When I saw you, I remembered the past, which is very rare for the mind these days. He’s my fav actor till date. I remember as a kid how addicted I was to his shows. His name was enough to make those shows superhit around that time. I hope I get to see him in many more roles.
One of the most dashing actors, with a flair for Urdu and poetry, Kanwaljit Singh Sidhu is one under-rated actor. Proud to be from the same school. We were little boys when he used to visit our school, St George's College in Mussoorie, in the 80's..He was at the peak of his popularity in '86, as Satbir in Buniyaad. He visited school with his soon to be wife, Anooradha Patel (grand-daughter of the legend Ashok Kumar). We mobbed him, and Anooradha ji stood back and smiled approvingly,enjoying the adulation he was getting. He was a regular at the Alumni meets, and to this day, always stays in touch through social media. Proud of you, Kuku bhaji❤

But speaking as a man who grew up watching your serials (the late 70's & 80's ), I am forever indebted to actors like you and innumerable others of that era, the unsung heroes of our times, who played a major role in shaping our character and lives. I have watched Farmaan and Buniyaad I don't remember how many times (as they are also my mothers favourite serials) and revisited those good old days and memories thanks to you. They remind me of the gratitude we all owe to great actors like yourself and many more, who sadly have not achieved the success and fame that they thoroughly deserved. So please do not regret if you sometimes feel that you did not succeed in life and get the recognition you so much deserved. In my book, anyone who brings out laughter and tears in me even in today's selfish and godless world, has my deepest and sincerest gratitude and all of you will forever be in my prayers.

am 42 and every one who had the era of ONLY & ONLY DOORDARSHAN had limited entertainment because of "these TV STARS" who were just entertaining us for 30 minutes every day / week , but they are remembered after 35 years of my introduction to black & white TV and then color TV's. THANK YOU DOORDARSHAN & STARS LIKE KANWALJIT SINGH. you actors are remembered forever in spite of these fast paced entertainment sources...at few moments of this interview i had tears too...stay blessed...

to the Marriott hotel and gave us a lavish treat and his warm company. Later we went to his His country house and must say he is grand, compassionate and a very generous man, a real royal Sardar.

So touching to see that he is emotional about our home town Saharanpur. So am I !! My mom was his teacher in a junior school in SRE. She is sending him blessings and love. Jogi uncle and Rani aunty were the most loving neighbours and friends we ever had. We have very fond memories of his family.

i used to watch farmaan serial and just love it. i still watch it on youtube sometimes and i downloaded it too. i used to love both deepika and kanwaljit ji in this serial and their roles too😍🥰. i also like kawaljit ji in shankar hussain film too as i love all the songs of this movie also because heroine of this movie has same name in movie as my other name is😊
