Well done Callum and Charlie. Maybe the best episode yet as talking about stuff hardly anyone does. Plus not trying to create an illusion but focus on the reality. Refreshing to watch.
Thanks Mark, really appreciate it. Very much inspired by how many people tune in to watch your videos (covering the races nobody else thinks are worth filming it seems…). There’s an audience out there with an appetite for this!
Your transparency and honesty is a breath of fresh air! Congratulations on your achievements and good luck for the next season, don’t lose your enthusiasm and naivety
1) I love the series 2) Would love to see callum do road races and cross country in winter! 3) If'd live in the UK I'd up for a community run 😅 4) Callum live race reports and comments (EC cross country, ... )
This is better running content than 99% of running channels out there and it’s your first ever series. Keep ploughing on with the running and content, both really inspiring 👍🏻
Love following you since "getting to know you" through Run it three ways POD. You are so funny, open and "without filter" which I find awesome! Keep on enjoying and improving! 💪👊
Thanks for sharing mate. You’ve absolutely smashed it this year and managed to get to a level which should merit a pro-contract. It frustrates me to see shoe companies gifting thousands of £s worth of kit to good club runners when you are struggling. Keep up the great work.
thank you! that's the world of 'sports marketing' I'm afraid... the harsh reality is Lululemon will get a better ROI paying a run-influencer £30k a year that will show off the clothes & engage with the right potential customers, than they would giving me the same money to try and be a world class athlete!
Thanks a lot, appreciate the feedback! Certainly not scared to do things a little differently, but failure is pretty crap so hopefully it doesn’t happen much 😂
Great video, love to see the honesty and content! I'm an athlete in a similar position to you and have actually raced you in Boston and WXC, and your progression this year is super inspiring ! Excited to continue to follow the series and your progression
All jokes aside, the level of focus and dedication you have put into your training this year is incredible to watch. You have become a genuine threat to the top in UK running and thats incredible. The next steps are huge but whatever happens its going to be amazing to watch. And we beat Milwall 0-3 so that made my weekend alongside watching this
What everyone else said. Great content Callum. You’ve come a long way and so much has changed for you since I witnessed you jet off at the Vale of York 10! Keep up the outstanding work!
Such brilliant insight Callum. This is real life, even when you have the talent you have. My forecast is that next year you will be making a profit… all your incomes will be a lot higher. Your challenge is can you keep costs down?
My theory is…. Decent video sponsor + bit of ad revenue = enough to cover the costs of the video. That’s only because we want high quality stuff and to do lots of things. If we wanted we could easily get a sponsor and spent £0 making a super easy “workout video” or something… but I want to make unique content! Thanks for watching mate 🤝
@@the.distanceproject Callum, spot on… there are plenty of folks who can do the “how to run a faster 5k” video. There are very few that can make the type of vids you can. Don’t forget to show us the downs as well as the ups. We can handle it.
Loved the series and can't wait to see what's next! As to future videos, i think it would be nice to see you doing some road races (and it would also help the channel as they seem to get more views, let alone if shared by a 29:XX guy). Other suggestions would be classic videos like workouts, day in life, buildup to goal races and so on...nothing new, just with a better runner and a better producer :)
Thanks for the insights! We have some road and XC videos coming for sure - some just about me (World Road Champs next!) and some about my club team here in the UK. Thanks for watching 🔥
I mean you are the vice world champion That it wasn’t in Budapest does not matter, only other brita beside you who have a medal are Kerr, Jake (1500) you did great mate Wishing you the best for next year and paris or tokyo in 2025, aswell Europeans next year would be great experiences for you. Just unfortunate that the British middle distance depth is so deep, Mills, Jake, Kerr, Giles, Heyward, Gourley make it very difficult to qualify Wishing you the best
All the previous comments say it all really - refreshing to see the honesty, absolutely here for it. Solid A- year there, maybe swerve the dodgy food before your final track race of next year though yeah? 😂 go well in Latvia lad
Callum enjoyed the content in your RUclips videos and the podcast next year when you qualify for the Olympics and you beat Ingerbrigtsen to the gold that’ll be another Brit to piss him off good luck 👍
You might not improve by another 5 seconds but there is no reason why you shouldn't improve next year. For what it's worth, I reckon that if you are to get close to 3:30 you probably need to get significantly faster over 800. Sub 1:47 is more or less essential if you are to run the first couple of laps in 1:53 ish which is the pace set in most Diamond League races. Otherwise it terms of training massive changes are surely not necessary. It worked this year and if it ain't broke ...
Largely agree. I was definitely capable of a 1:47 this year, the one 800 I did run was poor conditions and not executed as well as it should have been. Thanks for watching!
Josh Kerr ran a Half Marathon Autumn 2022 and then went on to win the World Champs, will you build any 10ks/Halfs into your winter training as preparation for next season?
Similar to last season I’ll have a club road relays (~6k), a full cross country season & hopefully a fast road 10k between now and when I turn my head to the track in March time. These things are always changing though!
Yes we know it says "2022" twice but that's why you love us #texthere
I think I need some tests at this rate. Sorry Team. #texthere

Thanks mate! Plenty of road & XC videos coming… first up is the small matter of the World Road Championships 🔥
2:30 'Not broke 4 minutes for 1500'🙋♂
In all seriousness you've smashed it this season, keep up the good work!
Haha cheers mate

thank you for the support - we're heading in the right direction!
Thanks for the series guys, it feels like we’ve been able to watch the start of something huge and special!

Fascinating discussion! Thank-you for sharing all the details. Looking forward to Closing the Gap next season
thank you!
Nice video, mate. It's really good to watch and see the passion you have for running. You are not afraid to fail, and you are hungry for more
Thanks a lot, appreciate the feedback! Certainly not scared to do things a little differently, but failure is pretty crap so hopefully it doesn’t happen much 😂
Hes back with a banger! Loved this!!! Congrats on the qualification too :)
Thank you! We’ll be filming the race hopefully 👍🏼

Nice mate, appreciate it! Send me a DM on IG and we can see if any of our training or camps coincide 👍🏼
Loved this. So happy people are giving the realities on social media now! Would love a video on managing injuries?
Thanks for watching. Definitely something we can create if (or when) an injury comes up 👍🏼
@@the.distanceprojectthanks! Not wishing anything on you at all though!😮
Would also love some more insight into daily life etc - not just races?

Thanks mate. Whilst I wish we were still going away to Anfield etc. you can’t complain with 3 points at the Den!
Great series guys. Congratulations for everything this year looking forward to next year!
thank you!

So interesting to hear about the finances. No one ever talks about that.
We’re trying to change the game over here!
I mean you are the vice world champion

Very excellent video. This was me. 30 years ago. With triathlon. Shame. No RUclips back then.
If only

I didn't get 10k! 😂😂
The sponsor money isn’t too much
At this point no :)
The RUclips add revenue will be so much more this year spend lots more this year you’ll have the money
100% of funds are reinvested until we take this channel to the moon 🤝
