You do realize they release these videos as promotion for their subscription services right? If you want the comprehensive comp vs comp breakdowns you can go to their site
Would also be cool to have video on how medium/top players look at their screen. Are they constantly scanning the UI? How do they also keep up movement of character, following opponent, while scanning ui, etc. Ie how do they get the information from the UI into their mind
I think one key feature to have is a GOOD and well setup nameplates addon. This can massively help you see what cd is popping by the enemy. Otherwise is super difficult to track everything in a matter of seconds.
Congrats on Glad to the Rogue and his team . This is a perfect video for me as we have a warrior who never holds his trinket .......ever first time he gets cc bam popped trinket. Hopefully this will help him see what we keep trying to get him to realize. His answer is always "I had him going and thought I could finish him". Good video as always Skill Capped!
As other people already mentioned, you should use more classes as examples, but also, don't forget to include positive examples of the trinket used correctly
I think my biggest problem is my ui setup. Looking at your settup it so much clear i can see whats going on. I lvled everyclass to 60 to learn all the abilties since i played vanilla thru cataclysm and everything has changed.
How to be good at the video game, a guide by skillcapped: Step 1: Whenver you're thinking of making a bad decision, make a good decision instead Step 2: ??? Step 3: Gladiator or your money back
I follow this rule and didn’t know it was a rule, but solo shuffle low rated players never do what I want them to do. A few times I was feared but had the initial shield of rapture on our mage whose HP was 60% and the shield was up to 30% which made him 90%. The bubble was never damaged through and I never used my trinket despite the Ret training him.
idk how viable the example with warr+ret+shaman (9:40) is tbh. at the moment rogue trinketed shaman was still sheeped and pala was like 5% hp w/o any defensive cooldown available. if you don't trinket offensively in this case having all your dps coolies up, you don't trinket offensively at all it seems. it actually forced trinket+link from the shaman so IMHO it was a fair trade. defo not the biggest mistake there, if even a mistake at all
UPD: if u look closely, there's a sheep landing on shaman right after he popped the spiritlink, so probs the comms were "go for the kill, i cc sham". very unfortunately mage was like half a second late with that sheep, otherwise it would've been a game. and still, even with the late poly on a shaman they got both link AND trinket, while only sacrificing a trinket on their side, so more than a fair traid, if u ask me
This video certainly seems to be aimed for people like me. Gives a lot to think about. Especially the skill triangle shocked me. I now understand better, why even at 1300-1400 we regularly face people over 2k exp. As for translating the 80% rule into practice, I will have to try it out. What concerns me is how many things there are to weigh in such a short amount of time. I really do hope this approach helps. We've played in almost every arena season last 15 years and still consider getting 1600 an "exceptionally good" performance for us. =) It's good to analyze trinket usage, but I must admit we often die to enemy dps pressure outside CC. Having a trinket won't help then.
@@BlizzArtPiano-wh9gj Well, yea... I guess "really low level" would be correct. I play Havoc and my wife Holy. We started doing arenas when they came out back in the Burning Crusade some 15 years ago and have played several hundred games in most seasons. Still stuck at 1400-1500 rating. Got the right builds and have watched all the vids, but I guess it's just an inherent awareness and reaction problem for both of us. The game is just so damn fast you don't have time to think about your choices...
i think in blade's edge example ,rogue trinketed cause it was every cd from the ret and he also was focusing the rogue. can't really say it's a mstake there cause if the priest got no dispel or is late to react the ret will cheese the rogue in 1 sec like we see everyay ^^
im new wow pvp player, and i have big trouble with drs. Can i see my own spell that will trigger dr in the diminish returns section in gladius or sarena? For example, i have a mage in my team and i play rogue. when mage used polly and i want to see "sap" dr is that possible?
also, i didn't even know you COULD trinket disarm. it isn't a stun and doesn't cause you loss of control of your character, so i never would have even tried to use it for disarm, so shows wtf i know
I love these videos they help me a lot but I feel like the hard part is finding other people in lfg that know these things and are willing to communicate
I don't know what this guide is going to say... But the #1 rule for leaving low CR is.... Don't get Banned for abusive chat even though you don't say shit to nobody, so you can actually play. And Blizzard never tells you "what" got you banned, so how the fuck you fix something you don't know what's going on? I'm pretty sure i got reported for calling someone a snowflake when someone was trashing him and he kept crying. "Stop being a snowflake and crying, you're just making it worse for yourself." but who really knows.
Like the point of the video the problem isn't actually making the 80% decision. The problem is how to have the information of the status of the match in your mind when a decision needs to be made. Yes the trinkets, spell cooldowns, stuns etc is displayed in the UI but how do you look at 4-6 small locations, process what each of the icons mean (from a much larger pool of icons). There would be incredible value and improvement in gameplay if a much simpler display of information was possible, that could be more easily followed. Maybe with standard icons for all stuns, defensives, dps cooldowns, would loose some accuracy but gain simplicity.
You can do whatever you want with your ui using weak auras. Even exactly what you are describing with default icons for each cc type. You just have to know how. For me it adds another layer of gameplay, where I "code" reactive ui for every arena situation and I space it around my character with some set rules so that it looks professional. It's a lot of work though and my major at uni was Interactive Design, so I can imagine most people don't want to be bothered with weak auras and Ui building. Hope the ui in the new expansion makes sense, but I will go on using my custom stuff.
Arena is incredibly complicated, the amount of add on and weak aura I not only need but have to use optimally just to compete is insane. I don't feel like I'm playing a fantasy rpg, Arena should be Called Spreadsheet master, can you click the flash at the right time . By the time your screen is set up to play Arenas and you look at your screen you wonder ... where did my wow go .
Keep your UI as clean as possible, while displaying the most important info possible in easy to read places for you. Your UI is fully customizable and practice is key. You have to learn cd trading and when to press thoes buttons. All the info is there you just have to read it, and practice
i mean, i get all the arm chair quarterbacking. it's super easy, barely an inconvenience... when you can pause the video and analyze it. when you're hot in the middle of combat, you don't have time to think about this shit. you have to make INSTANST decisions

Play a rogue! Most fun class since the beginning. No bias or anything
For reals, can I pay for your website with WoW gold? I have.. substantially more wow gold than irl money.... lol.. IRL money I couldn't even repair my gear... That's sad actually
I feel like this is a bunch of bs imo
That's funny in this video you said if 250 Rating or money back, in the others you say 400 rating.
All of their recent videos say 250. It IS a business they can change it son
the ladder is much more deflated compered to last season, 400 guaranteed rating is no longer reasonable
copy pasta from LOL guide xDD
This rock paper scissors cd trading meta needs to end.
Nah man the game has always been that way. Its what makes wow pvp so good, the skill ceilings and cd trading seperate the good from the one who need to learn. Notice i didnt say bad, because anyone can do it and all it takes is practice
cool i learned nothing, video is a scam
