pieter: " equipments that is worthy of the name of North Saila" Great quote. Those guys are pushing hard and should be celebrate. Very impressive works.
Sail development has really increased, and although some of the alterations were slight I could see how those would immensely improve the windsurfers abilities to perform the various extents of tracking and gybing and have less of a strain on the people performing those. The descriptions of the alterations were excellent also 👍
Peter visited us this weekend here in Portugal, where it opens the first Club North in Viana do Castelo! We fortunately to assist all his explanations about the sails that they produce and we could test them in water…they’re much better than you can ever think! Thank’s a lot Peter
wow this guy can talk 😀😀...great to see innovation, even though I could not catch the main idea yet..but would be super interested to take the Freespeed to the water
Very interesting interview. Well spoken Peter. Also interesting that their MDM mast wasn't mentioned. At one point I thought it might be an April's fools joke.
I tried the 23 racing last month. Just incredible!! Easiest jibing i have ever seen on a slalom/racing sail. Also the most stable shape. I wish i could afford to have a full rig.
Great walkthrough and tech talk, with Alfie doing the pro quiver shots. 👌 Impressive innovation. Just imagine North would do something else different - and sponsor the legend Campello for Pozo to rock their fresh gear. 🚀 How awesome would that be..
Great interview Ben. A bit disappointing of Pieter though that he forgot to mention Justyna Sniady on his wave team, who rode his sails to second place in the 2022 PWA wave tour.
North 3D sails has revolutionised sailing at nearly every level and is the go to technology if you want to win races and money is not the object. It's obvious, that they are still scratching their heads over some windsurf specific topics but they will not give up until they have won PWA titles. I am sure, that in the not to distant future the Pros will be queuing up to get on to the North Sails slalom and foil race team.
mindboggling , to say the least...and innovation is exactly that . Its just like lightweight tape , overlapped into a mould . kind of like a sculpture.
I am really interested by North new range and above all "new" technology (compared to other manufacturers), a light, durable and non tearing sail body is very attractive to me, the idea of being able to keep a sail for years without having splits in the monofilm or some part of the sail cracking is definitely seducing. Had a very lovely pink NP Atlas HD, ti handled very well, but after 2 years the bottom where the downhaul pulley is stitched cracked. I've had the strap replaced with a strong and longer dyneema one, and the sail cracked a little higher and is dead now. 100 sessions before the first issue, 24 more before the final death (and 3/4 of those were in foil where the sail is not suffering at all).
I thought one of the coolest practical things about the construction was precisely what he explained about, first, how the layup stops any tear or puncture from spreading; and second, how a simple patch will then accomplish a repair.
Freespeed - on normal panelled sails you cant have the inbuilt shape? Then have a look at Ezzy Cheetah. Handles like a wave sail? Doubt that. With a freerace you want the instant power out of gybes, you dont get that with wave flat sails. Nobody mentioning the small window and restricted view?
Pieter had 10 coffees before this interview. 😂 Good info!!
And they were double espresso
Awesome - passion, knowledge and innovation. Great combo and a great run down. That will translate to sales.
awesome North commercial! This guy is really passionate about the product!

Lots of respect! Loving it❤ real innovation, if it ain't Dutch it ain't much 🎉
Very nice interview and really great format

ABSOLUTLY AWSOME SERIES - THANK YOU SOOOOOOO MUCH.
More Please!
Awesome job of North Sails 🎉
I like the beach chairs at the back !!!!

Be awesome if Ben could do a factory tour at North sails Windsurfing. The new tech looks amazing
YES. I would love to see that!

Air cam? Thats really amazing!
North & Flikka - the combo!!! ❤❤
epic interview,
so you fix a whole in the sail like when doing a board repair, i can´t really get my head around this ;D

Good work
Leading the way
Legend
Have a gen 1 Wave 4.2 those things are out of this world...amazing!!!

If the sail is fast as Peter speaks.... will be #1 for sure
an air cam now thats cool
awesome stuff - so sad that north has been 5 years late to penetrate the market.

Ben..but when the ns guy starts to speack we need just 50% speed 🎉
Great sails but holy cow expensive and how dyou repair one of those 3D sails if there are no panels?

Ben earning his year of beer money in a week
haha.. No wind at the Defi had it's advantages!! But didn't really stop for 4 days :)
Pieter on rapid fire mode
Wow...interesting concept! Maybe way to the future....worth trying out! Anyone you can try/buy these sails in Austria?
Amazing high tech sails. But 1800 euro.
🎉
If my comment gets 1K likes, North Sails will give me a FreeSpeed sail…….for research.
❤ i

Make a Colab with Patrick, air inside and 3d i could be fun ;)
Those masts look like Slake masts
Some says that this man sails faster than he talks ...
It looks and sounds expensive.
Moin Ben
To be honest: this was the most interesting techtalk yet. Peter is talking as fast as a machinegun. Thanks for the nerdtalk ✌🏼
can he talk faster? think about people who are not fluent please.....
you can play at 0.5x or 0.75x speed 😉
@@douwemonsma5874 exactly !
@@douwemonsma5874 yes but they looks drunk now
put the subtitles on ( works pretty well) or slow it down to 0.75... but we both sound really drunk at 0.5!! haha Next time I'll slow them down! :)
Put 1 coin in, get 3 out. That's how driven those guys are. A good match for products like this.
Not really into these cheap sails… On the positive side, you can now get a puncture!
21:50 - I love when brands are coming from an engineering mindset. Explained very well by Pieter, with plenty of Dutch power oomph
Jesus Peter speaks fast! I thought I had the video on x2 speed for a minute there! Really interesting stuff though.
Is it possible to use SDM on your non-cambered "FreeSpeed"?
Peter is an incredible salesman! 🤯
More nerdy stuff!
