Ebay and Mercari both have good purchase protection and you get double protection if you use Paypal in conjunction with them! I've never had an issue with Mercari because the sellers aren't paid until you confirm you've received your dolls (so NEVER mark as received early!!). Ebay definitely can be scammy (though I've been scammed way more as the seller than as a buyer so I just completely quite selling on there...but it's good to know as a buyer that eBay will almost ALWAYS side with you.) There's dangers to any online shopping unfortunately but if you are careful you shouldn't have an issue :)
Both sites depend on the seller, I buy off eBay all the time, you just have to make sure the seller has decent ratings, also eBay always sides with the customer for the most part

I had to sell a bunch of my dolls when I was 21 and moving away from my hometown and I had the best time explaining the extra outfit to my mum😂
