When it comes to the videos always remember, perfect is the enemy of good. We don't need big screen production value, we just want to see you build guitars.
This format is 100% fine. You’re on RUclips. The “you” in “RUclips” strongly implies amateur production values. It doesn’t need to be made into “ProTube” to get views or be engaging and worthwhile. That’s the YOU part. We are here for that part.
Love the video format, Chris. We do not need to stand on formalities here. 😉 A always appreciate seeing what you guys are up to. Thanks for the share!!
Yeah, more of this. Also miss the sessions where you guys played a little music. I’m nosy and like to peak into work shops. Far more interesting than most makers think.
I'd be very happy to see more content like this! The more produced videos are good too, but it's not always needed

Yes I like this short format! Just show us your talent and we'll enjoy it! Once in a while, when you can, sprinkle a long form video! Greetings from Hollywood California.
Like the content, sometimes keeping it simple helps us new to Luthier not feel overwhelmed. I have learned allot watching and subscribing to you channel.
I really like this format. It’s not that I don’t like your full production videos but I really do think there’s value in the more informal updates and progress videos to let us peer in and see what’s going on in your workshop. It’s hard to wrap my head around how many different guitars you’ve got in some stage of construction given your backlog and all these projects. Amazing!
Seeing major steps of different models and woods being built is great, the process and thoughts behind the process is great, and regularity is very important, we’ve all seen shows/channels fade for different reasons, you’ve already put lots of instructional videos out…but I do love watching the step by step progress of a single build
Great idea, really like seeing your repairs and builds in progress. Yall always have great content. Thanks for sharing your craft experience with All of us.
Keep getting after it Chris and Matt. I think a lot of us will be glad to watch 10-20 minute videos, and when a longer one is warranted, don't hesitate to put the details in that you know will be useful. Wisdom and experience can only be conveyed when they are conveyed ;)
Looked like an angel on the back of that acoustic. WOW!! Beautiful on so many levels!! Congrats Matt on your "first" build!! Looking forward to hearing Dylan wail on it!
Like this video a lot. I needed this to get motivated to finish some projects that I’ve been putting off for no real reason. Your shop videos are always watched and appreciated.
So great to have you back...love the format, or any one you choose. Owe you a ton for guiding me through my first build and you still have the best luthier videos out there!
Great idea! Anything you put out to give a glimpse at the behind the scenes sparks ideas in my own guitars. Every video makes me want to get out to the shop to try something new!
Also, I'm looking forward to hearing your opinions on the Ancient Cypress. I bought a set myself so once I get better at building, I'm going to use it for a build.
This is SO sick! That junior is so dope! I love the contours and the binding. Beautiful job and I am junior fanatic and would LOVE to one day get a driftwood Junior if ever possible. Keep making and keep loving your work. Love your content guys!😃
I'm cool with the back to the roots style videos. One of my favorites was the Talisker Storm video. I even tracked down a bottle...not a big fan of it. It was good, but not my jam. lol
Dude, that sassafras guitar is gorgeous! Had to rewatch that a couple of times….that cypress looks like an old barn door, and paired with the crazy beautiful back and sides. Good to see you’re still at it. I’ve been playing the sh’t out the three I made, and I have to tell you, the maple one is a cannon. Would love to jam sometime! Take care and look forward to future vids. ✌️
Short format is good for quick updates. I thought for sure the "retail guitar" was going to be an announcement of a Driftwood acoustic model available for $999! Oh well :(
If I had my way…., multi-camera, daily live stream with one camera on the ready for up close interaction. I’m a 52-year-old semi disabled guy that simply cannot get my fill of this flavor of luthier-ism. If you must do something top secret, fill the void with a montage of Matt’s lacquer jokes! Also, offer as many dedicated videos as you see fit to do (for example, that extremely old guitar that you are about to wrap up (please, don’t skimp on the closing details)!! ….. ”if” I had my way 😉.
Personally this is more the type of stuff I watch the production can be nice but I feel the just doing is best. I don't build just live Vicarious though others.
I think you could just strap-on a Go Pro and film some pov guitar building, maybe with minimal real-time commentary, and you’d have compelling, low-production videos.
I like getting to see my wife every day rather than only on date nights when she's dolled up. Sometimes we don't get a date for quite a while because life happens. I wouldn't care what she looked like by the time I saw her again lol. I think it's kinda like that.
I'm kind of shocked by some of your videos! You certainly make beautiful custom acoustics! But to cut some of the other guitars is ridiculous. Why not look inside with cameras, lights and mirrors, and give these guitars away to young players who can't afford a new guitar. You're not promoting new players. You should rethink this promoting of your guitars!
When it comes to the videos always remember, perfect is the enemy of good. We don't need big screen production value, we just want to see you build guitars.
Nah, I like the perfectionist quality about him. Love his attention to detail and well thought-out execution
While I would still like the formal videos, I definitely enjoy the "what we are up to" videos.
I agree 100 percent
Yep, just pick up the camera for a few minutes once a week & show us what's happening, we love to know
I like that format. More casual and personal.
This format is 100% fine. You’re on RUclips. The “you” in “RUclips” strongly implies amateur production values. It doesn’t need to be made into “ProTube” to get views or be engaging and worthwhile. That’s the YOU part. We are here for that part.
I could see my set of the tree mahogany in the background. Can’t wait to see you get started on that.
Really like the junior style....
We really missed you guys..I was worried that something may happened 😢…I really liked the format to keep in touch with your community!
Beautiful single cut. Kudos!
WOOHOO way to go Matt! That’s one sexy guitar 🤤 So proud ❤
It's really good to see you again 🙂 Please don't be a stranger! 🙂
Hey Bud ... A little bit of somethin' is better than a whole lot of nothin' ... I am game for whatever y'all put out! Congrats to Matt!
Great video Chris...........love the raw videos........keep em coming!
The Video Format is fine
Great video Chris, always good to see you!
Appreciate the video, totally makes sense being really busy...like all of the new stuff
What I really notice is when a new video pops up in my feed. Hey they're back!!!
I'd be very happy to see more content like this! The more produced videos are good too, but it's not always needed
Yes I like this short format! Just show us your talent and we'll enjoy it! Once in a while, when you can, sprinkle a long form video! Greetings from Hollywood California.
Good looking work! It'd be great to see some of that inlay work over those couple of weeks that you are focusing on inlays.
I would watch you guys tie your shoes... beautiful work!! Congrats to Matt on the Jr and that blue in the blue spruce is amazing. Keep at it!!!!

Please do continue with the format. Always pleasure to watch your videos, and kudos to Matt.
I enjoyed the "shop updates" format.
I would like to see your bracing pattern for the soundboard. The Tap tone on the Da Vinci sounded really good.
Great idea, really like seeing your repairs and builds in progress. Yall always have great content. Thanks for sharing your craft experience with All of us.
Nice video! Loved seeing more of the big picture of what's developing in the shop.
Keep getting after it Chris and Matt. I think a lot of us will be glad to watch 10-20 minute videos, and when a longer one is warranted, don't hesitate to put the details in that you know will be useful.

Absolutely love Tasmanian Blackheart Sassafras! Can't wait to hear it!!! 😍
If you're that busy, that's really awesome! It's always great to hear from you guys no matter what you have. Thanks for the video!
Looked like an angel on the back of that acoustic. WOW!! Beautiful on so many levels!! Congrats Matt on your "first" build!! Looking forward to hearing Dylan wail on it!

I do like this format, I really enjoy seeing the updates.
I like this format and this video a lot…. Can’t wait to see my guitar finished! Most excellent, Chris!
So great to have you back...love the format, or any one you choose. Owe you a ton for guiding me through my first build and you still have the best luthier videos out there!

Great video. Make them when you can.
This is great - love to see the big picture every once in a while! You guys are great and congrats to Matt on his 99 percenter!
Thanks for the update. Nice to see your current in-progress guitars.
I like this format. It's sort of like a teaser.
Glad to see you planning more videos! Is it just me or there's only sound on the left channel on this one??
I like the update. Some really exciting stuff coming up.
Also, I'm looking forward to hearing your opinions on the Ancient Cypress. I bought a set myself so once I get better at building, I'm going to use it for a build.
Glad to hear we will see more of you guys!
Im really excited for both you and Mat. Awesome stuff
Always good to have more content. Keep 'em coming!
It's always nice to see you in good shape. Maybe it's time to get a factory like the Taylor, but smaller?
Yeah, love the format - fun walking around and seeing everything… really cool. Thanks!
I'm happy with this! I'm happy with anything you can put out. You're the only guys I watch 😊
That thing is gorgeous!
This format worked well, and cameras these days can make a lot out of a little👍
This is SO sick! That junior is so dope! I love the contours and the binding. Beautiful job and I am junior fanatic and would LOVE to one day get a driftwood Junior if ever possible. Keep making and keep loving your work. Love your content guys!😃
Keep 'em comin' man. Class
Always good to see content from you guys, and just seeing progress on guitars around the shop.
Love seeing what is happening in a working shop!
Matt did a great job so far! Can't wait to hear this one!
Keep them coming!!
Awesome. I like these videos
format is fine.
I like this format :)
Always love the content regardless of the frequency! Have ya thought about live streaming?
Cool format, thank you!
I'm cool with the back to the roots style videos. One of my favorites was the Talisker Storm video. I even tracked down a bottle...not a big fan of it. It was good, but not my jam. lol
Love the format.

Like the format!
I don’t mind what format the video takes, as long as both Chris and Matt are in there and we get to watch at least one per week.
Short format is good for quick updates. I thought for sure the "retail guitar" was going to be an announcement of a Driftwood acoustic model available for $999! Oh well :(
I like this type of video
Hey Chris…
What’s the story on the “Ancient Cypress” soundboard???
That’s a nasty burn on your arm, Brother. Hand-bender mishap?
Yeah I got bit by the side bender about two weeks ago, but I’m recovering.
Don’t ask me how I knew what it was from 🤔🫣🤫
I’m glad that it wasn’t any worse.
Was the snakewood difficult to work with as binding? Isn’t it super dense, hard and brittle?
I'm more interested in seeing content on the building process! No fancy video production is required! Keep the content coming!
dat snakewood ❤
😂my wife saw me watching this so I had to explain who you were. She gave this. "Humpf,he needs a haircut!

I like the format. It's like Ted Woodford's approach. Don't do tutorials, just let us look over your shoulder while you do what you do.
I know what the fingerboard looks like. Y’all need to subscribe so you don’t miss it!
Nice stuff. Gnarly arm burn? Not so nice.
the video has no sound or i have a problem with my phone ?
Personally this is more the type of stuff I watch the production can be nice but I feel the just doing is best. I don't build just live Vicarious though others.
They have a vitamin that cures color blindness
Eddie's Guitars?
I think you could just strap-on a Go Pro and film some pov guitar building, maybe with minimal real-time commentary, and you’d have compelling, low-production videos.
Nice job, thought you guys passed away.
This is fine. I’m all for increasing content, even if it means reducing production values occasionally.
👍😎
How about a 4000 year old guitar build ?
What's happening with the 3000 year old guitar build?
😄👍
Great guitars sound great how about that 3,300 year old guitar😅
Must be nice to make a guitar just to express your current ideas and artistry.
Hire some more artists in Woodworkers
Is it just me that has no sound? I have sound on everything else.
Only one audio channel working, makes it annoying to listen on headphones.
I like getting to see my wife every day rather than only on date nights when she's dolled up. Sometimes we don't get a date for quite a while because life happens. I wouldn't care what she looked like by the time I saw her again lol. I think it's kinda like that.
Sounds like you guys could use someone on staff to just do content creation part time.
Yes
@@DriftwoodGuitars I’m local. Let’s chat.
No sound?
I listened right after you and the sound was fine.
@@yadaroni looks like my headphones are tied to one channel 😅
audio only on left channel for me
