Finally got around to finishing this (watched it in 3 parts). It was fun to hear the perspectives of Martin & Danny of your riding style as well as your photographer. I think they are spot on when they say it's inspiring to see what you can do with a feature just down the road. I know that's what originally motivated me to get out and start filming more.
These videos are awesome I can't get enough of them I remember watching Chris akrigg at school with amazement and so I'm not surprised of his success in the slightest can't wait until all this virus is out of way to see what he has in store for us all in 2020.
The first time I saw Chris was whilst I was waiting in line at a section at the British championship trial in Essex (1995 maybe). Chris came flying past coasting on his back wheel and shouted "I have no brain" as he hopped, coasted over a tree stump and carried the coasty on the other side! His riding is epic, and so was that Pace trials bike he rode!!
It is an honor to be complimented by Martyn,Danny, Martin and Hans , and you are so lucky to have a Dad like yours and a trials legend too.Keep up those amazing videos.
Not sure why this made me so emotional watching this! Pure joy! Complete renegade artistry and skill, nonconformist to the full! My gosh. This is legendary!
This is legendary. Akrigg has the physical strength and raw power bursts that one fails to see in other riders. Along with Ashton and Brummotti, he is my favorite, old school not included. Keep em coming Chris
Beast. Dude is so smooth and so good you don't realize how good he is. Watching Akrigg crush one impossible line after another is a treat, and I never tire of it. Great video.
Thank you for making this video. What a legend! I remember the first time I saw a Chris Akrigg edit and just thought to myself who is this guy? He rides like no other!
Thank you Chris for this video. Definetely gonna watch it again. Next sunday, I guess. 'A hill in Spain' is the first of your videos that I saw. I went on Vimeo and watched all of 'em. You've been a huge inspiration! The way you ride, the cinematographic aspect in your videos, everything is impeccable and so full of creativity. Thank for all these years, hope you can continue for a lot of years to come. Wish you all the best!
If it wasn't 9.30 at night, dark, peeing with rain and I'd drunk a couple of glasses of wine, I'd have been inspired to grab my bike out of the shed and go for a ride. Great video.
That was superb! Such a talent Chris. Those old clips bought back so many emotions from being a teenager on my bike, mbuk, mates and VHS bike films. Loved it!
This was an incredible documentary. Thanks so much for putting effort into producing this. Chris you are legendary! Have fun with the rest of your time riding bikes!
I can remember when I was 3 years old and getting a bike with stabilisers and within half hour I was like get these training wheels off lol, I can remember making obstacles in my uncles garden and trying to ride over them and kept challenging myself to ride and like you it was years before I even realised that riding over stuff was even a sport let alone people even were doing the same thing, you have always been my biggest inspiration Chris and I can’t thank you enough for that, and I’m still pushing my riding at 46 years old which is amazing as I’ve pretty much rode by myself all these years, this video was so emotional for me and has only fuelled my passion for trials so much more , what a true fucking legend you are.....can’t wait to ride my bike today lol 👊🏻👍🏻💪🏻
Parmi les personnes les plus inspirantes dans ma pratique, voila sans doute celui que je mets sans doute au sommet .ça dépasse l'entendement. Keep your mind Chris !
Awesome, nice to see the interviews with other riding legends. One of the most inspiring riders, I remember watching grainy youtube clips from maybe 2004 or so.
Holy smokes! Thank you for your constant effort put into biking and filming and creating entertaining and motivating content. Until now I've not realized that I followed your step to youtube almost from the beginning!
My favourite rider since I think bike 97 at the NEC? This feels like finally the recognition this guy deserves, I really enjoyed this. Well done Chris ☺
You lads are legends it’s what inspired me to ride trials back in 98 I rode for about 8-10 years started with a GT timberline then progressed to GT zaskar, Azonic ,Giant etc but for street use to ride Martin Ashton 24”. love every bit off it! Thank you
Absolutely spot on video!! The development of bike trials in the 90s and since by these guys has been so important to cycling in general and my own cycling history that watching this documentary was like taking a walk down memory lane with some friends I've never met. So happy a documentary like this has been made, and made so well! All the right people in there with amazing first-hand accounts of the events that have created the world of freestyle trials as it it is now. The 8 or so individuals featured in this video basically rebuilt trials and moved it away from rules and competition and into a place where individual creativity, freedom of expression and innovation have all been welcomed as a legitimate form of cycling and a way to be, lessons that so many aspects of modern culture and society would also benefit from. Changing the way things are is never easy, but guys like this show that there is so much to be gained from having the balls to mix things up and go against the grain. Thanks to all involved for this much needed important story in cycling history.
Love the attitude, Chris! I’ve been a fan of trials and street trials since 1994 - when I was 14. I’ve never been in a position to afford things, but I’ve always tried to buy the odd bike magazine over the years and your good self, the Martins (Martyn’s?), Eddie Tongue (where is he?) and Hans Rey, were very real inspirations. At 38 years old now, I’m still not in any position to do this (bloody bills!), but this video has been great, to once again, catch up with your antics and see how things have progressed for you; you had and continue to have a great riding style and watching this video shows why. You’ve also always come across as a bloody nice guy too. Anyway, I’m glad to see you’re still doing well and riding as hard as ever! Great video.
Why the bloody hell is there 5 dislikes???? Do these people watching this video not know what this lad has done for MTB / Trail riding? Bloody idiots!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Chris is a legend, he is so driven to succeed, in my mind he is a true champion of the sport!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Where were the clips from Retro All Terrain Biking?? That video caught my interest in following your riding. Such great style and humor. Keep it up Chris! Love what you do
Great story! Really cool how you made such a big impact on trials and riding with all the street and flow and now it's become such a beautiful art form that shows the best of what riders and bikes can do!
Nice film Chris, I enjoy your (and everyone's) perspective. I've been a fan of your videos for some time now. By the way, the Yorkshire moors have gotten onto my bucket list of places to visit, because of your films. (I'm an American.) Thank you!
Congrats to this video it is so cool! I really watched all your videos and really love your style of riding! I think the diversity in your riding and your videos really inspired me and my riding! Thank you for that! Keep on shredding!!!
Such a cool video, but makes me feel completely inadequate as a bike rider ;-) Still love the sound of a Yamaha TY, reminds me of my childhood watching my Dad riding trials, but unfortunately never got to the same level of skill as he had. Oh well, off I go to see if I can bunny hop up something higher than a kerb....
Remember being in the NEC watching Akrigg bash the $hit out of the metal rail so talented absolute favourite rider, would be happy if i had 1/2 his talent on a bike!
What a legend. Deserves far more recognition than he gets. I'm just glad he's been able to make a living out of riding a bike.
The finest 40 minutes of bike video that I've ever watched.
It's an absolute pleasure watching you do your thing Chris. 👍👍
Great video! I always get excited when I see a new video from Chris.
Finally got around to finishing this (watched it in 3 parts). It was fun to hear the perspectives of Martin & Danny of your riding style as well as your photographer. He truly is the riders rider.
Edit: Oh damn didn't realise Ashton would quote me like 2mins in 😂
Why does the video not have like a million views...what an amazing rider!!! Thanks for the video - Happy Riding !!!
One of the best films I've recently seen. Chris is incredible, his tricks and riding style is unbelievable! I'm absolutely stoked!
Clad I waited till had enough time to enjoy this film and not rush it. So good Chris
These videos are awesome I can't get enough of them I remember watching Chris akrigg at school with amazement and so I'm not surprised of his success in the slightest can't wait until all this virus is out of way to see what he has in store for us all in 2020.

I'm so happy this film exists. Chris has been one of my favourite riders since forever.
Chris, the world is glad there are people like you! Not just as a rider but also as a human being. Wish you the best!!!
About time. I've been waiting and waiting. Cracking video! And fair play to you for including all the moments when it doesn't quite go to plan.
The first time I saw Chris was whilst I was waiting in line at a section at the British championship trial in Essex (1995 maybe).
