I receive exported parts all the time with hundreds of bodies, most of which are cooling holes used for a subtract (vane and blade castings). One additional way to clean up the navigator in these cases is to create feature groups. Tidies up the tree quite a bit and can relieve selection chores for pattering, synchronous operations, etc..

Feature groups are a great way to go. I do use them and are actually necessary.
