  • Getting my walk on at therapy! it’s the hardest task to accomplish physically and mentally. Just imagine trying to move your leg, but you see nothing. No matter how hard you try, nothing moves. At therapy, we walk anyways. As Andy, my PT, supports my hips and blocks a knee, we pull my opposite leg through together.

Abby's pretty but more important is her determination and tenacity! Thumbs up to Abby! I've watched a few of her other videos. Very much worth it.

PT's, in my experience, will put-out all they got when a patient tackles therapy like you! FES bike for six months and you might not need Andy to this extent - keep moving; so inspiring!

@@abby_marsh29 Back in the late eighties, my wife and I moved to Middletown, OH to participate in a program called, 'Moving Again'. Nan Davis was the Administrator who had been the first sci (a high para) to walk using leg braces and FES technology (her college graduation and wedding). She pointed me to exploring LSU leg braces which eliminated the need for trunk control...I never escaped the parallel bars as Nan did with the use of a walker. She had the heart of a Lion and so do you!

Great video. Curious how you injured your cord. I too have a SCI at C5/C6 from a disc herniation. I got my neck fused at that level and my symptoms improved a ton up to a point. Walking fine, just takes more energy and sometimes it's hard to get started when I've been sitting, or laying awhile. My symptoms 2 years post op are mostly sensory, but still have good and bay days, nothing like what you've been through though.

Hey Abby my name is Myles I am an incomplete quad. Talk texting has my first name spelled wrong but that's okay. I really love this video of you walking. I hope to be walking on my own within two years. I know that I will always have to have a walker or some other kind of support but I will be walking in two years. I have been a quad for 13 months now. I have good arm and leg mobility and your video is very inspiring. I know this video is a couple years old but I hope you are doing well and have your improved Beyond what this video shows. Best of luck to you and I'm going to watch more of your videos. The two things I hate the most are my hands clawing up and bowel program. If you have a chance please reply to this message and let me know how you are doing . Please excuse any typos due to talk texting not translating perfectly all the time. Keep On Keepin On!!!!

I am a C5/6 incomplete since 2011. I can even drive with normal pedal foot function but unfortunately we are not dealing with body strength here. The spinal chord is a nerve meaning it cannot be strengthened like a muscle. No matter how much exercise I do I will never walk again.

Just want to let her know that If she believes on what Christ did on the cross in that he paid the price for her sins and everyone’s sins so they wouldn’t have to pay for their sins with eternity in hell she will have a new eternal spiritual body like the one Jesus Christ rose from the dead with!! Just a matter of believing!! For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life!! John 3:16
