  • Hi friends!
    Indra here!
Today I wanted to show you another EVA foam tutorial; how to make a layered shoulder piece.
This incorporates many of the previous techniques I've shown, so you'll find some familiar steps!
I hope you find it useful and soon I will share the second part, where I show you how I painted this piece!
    ------
    Where to buy foam:
The foam I am using is the new EVA from the Yaya Han Collection! It's super high quality and will be exclusively available at JoAnn stores very soon! Until then, you can purchase it through the joann.com website.

I’ve been doing cosplay with EVA foam for years. Not once did it occur to me to use wax paper on my work table. Genius. Thanks!!!

Hey, nice tutorial, I'll be surely trying it out on my own.
Do you have any idea on how to make it so they move along with the arm?

So happy this could help you! Instead of gluing each layer, attach them with a grommet and brad on the corners of each layer. Hope that makes sense!

Great tutorial for an easily modifiable pauldron. What thickness EVA foam do you recommend?

One tip from another foam smith with the user lost wax is to get good curves you can use your knee

Thank you! That's exactly what I was looking for. May I use a hair blower instead of a heat gun?

    • @ashleigh3016
      @ashleigh3016 3 года назад +4

Not the OP but hair dryers don’t get hot enough to mold foam!

@@ashleigh3016 Thanks! I think my uncle does have a heat gun, I guess I'll borrow it.

I have never attempted something like this before, but I have an idea for a Cosplay and this shoulder piece is perfect, thank you for the tutorial, I am excited to try to craft something like this for the first time :D Do you need the heat gun, or would a hair dryer be able to get hot enough? Thanks! 🙏

I like how you leave the second and third piece edges open where they aren’t going to be seen. I think that would save both time and headache

Great question! You can use industrial velcro, snaps, or elastics. This may be a good topic for a future tutorial

The way you were trying to shape the flat paper on the round shoulder really stressed me out. How about plastic wrap and painters tape to make your pattern.
