- If you have a drysuit with a neoprene neck seal that has become too big to stay dry, then there is a simple solution that can delay a complete replacement for a while.
If you have any questions or suggestions please use the comments below and I will respond as fast I can.

Thank you very much for taking the time and trouble to make and post this video - I think it is more helpful than you realised! I do most of the maintenance on my dry suits and that is pretty straightforward as the seals are all latex. However, I also have a semi dry suit with neoprene neck, wrist and ankle seals. All the seals on that suit have problems and they are all sewn in - which makes the repair cost ridiculously expensive and not cost effective! This was frustrating as, apart from the seals the suit is fine - and has plenty of life left in it. Having watched your video, I realise I could either make new neoprene seals and glue them to the cut down old ones. Alternatively, I could cut down the old seals and attach latex seals (cut down where necessary).
There is at least a couple of inches (50mm) of sound neoprene at the base of each seal and that is ample for a simple glued overlap joint. If I make new neoprene seals, your video gives me enough information to figure out the construction (and 'adjustment' - if necessary); attachment will be similar to latex seal replacement.
I probably will not have time to repair the semi-dry until later in the year - but I now believe I can get at least another 3 years life out of the suit. When I do it, I will add a further comment to let you know how it went.
Thanks again

Thanks you very much and thanks for subtitles
Glad you like it.
Great idea
Great tip! Did you re-use the plastic strip from the seam or is it a new one? What material is it?
Great video and thanks! Is there anyway to increase the size?
Do you think I could add a latex neck into a semi dry top? It came with neoprene only. It's kokatat brand with nylon interior. Thanks
What kind of glue do I need for this?
I bought Neoprene Queen, it comes out of the tube as a thick black gum, doesn't really seem fit for the job.
Google searches and forum reads only really throw up Neoprene Queen, Black Witch or people recommending me/others to get a professional to do it... too late for that, I've already taken the knife to it!
Great video thanks for making it. What was the seam tape material you used to glue back over?. Cheers mike
cool clip, curious how strong are the two connections and what material is the strip you used? how log did it last till you replaced a new neck seal? safe dives and greatings from Hamburg
This is such great helpful video. What glue did you use for this?
Good video! Thank you for this!
Thank you! Helped me alot
Super tutorial! How can I mesure neck/preferable size on neck seal? All I know now is that it is too wide...
I measured my neck and pulled off 2 cm on the neckseal. I think 2-3 cm should be fine.
Send me an update of your result if you try to resize.
Thank you for the video! How do you determine the correct size for the V cut? Is there a formula for measuring the V cut from the circumference of your neck?
Hi Mike, there is no formula. Draw a centerline down to bottom of the cut, and you have the V-shap
