Great score! The Gen 1&2s don't turn up at the gun shows very much. I bought a 659 from a lady selling off her deceased husband's collection last week. I have been hunting a 639 but I am very happy about coming across this one. Either way, they are beautiful pistols and I appreciate you sharing yours. Thanks!
Grew up shooting a 39-2, old man has a 39 no dash in the box with papers never shot brand new.. but always 645s etc. I keep a 6906 near by and iv been saying for a long time these pistols will demand a price eventually.. that 39-2 my father said he has no idea how many 1000s of rounds through since early 80s I think . Before I was born and I’m 38. Keep it up

Despite the improvements and grip ergonomics of 3rd Gen Smith’s the 2nd gen stainless autos are personal fav.
They are excellent too
Can you put an ambi safety on this model also will a 659 upper slide fit it I wonder
