    Hi Stephen, trust all's well..
    I have a problem accessing my songs in a live set. Is there a faster way to recall a particular song(sequence) rather than spining the dial wheel till i find that song? Please help🙏

    • @StephenMendes
      @StephenMendes  Год назад +1

      Unfortunately NOT...... my suggestion is to change your FLASH CARD (must turn OFF the keyboard when changing them)..... set up a flash card for your GIG and you will not have to change the card on stage ...... by using multiple flash cards you will not have to spin the wheel through hundreds of songs ...... you CAN organize the songs on your computer and download them to various FLASH CARDs (however it is quite a complicated process and easy to mess up also takes a LOT of time)........ with FA series, Roland has offered a relatively CHEAP keyboard with quite a few ADVANCED features HOWEVER their intention was (and still is) to steer people to their MUCH MORE EXPENSIVE models where these problems (so I am told) are "fixed" ..... you will NOT find "celebrity musicians" playing either FA-06 or VR-09 .... they will buy the far more expensive FANTOM ... or use the older JUPITER (which was also quite pricey in its day) ..... of they buy Yamaha, Korg or Nord (the EXPENSIVE models) ..... but choice is yours, bro.... there are "work-arounds" for almost ANYTHING if you don't have the cash to join the "big league" 😁

    • @topgunanu
      @topgunanu Год назад

      True that. Thanks Stephen. I still use my Yamaha psr s775, where the registration memory allows me to store and recall specific arrangements including a midi track stored along with it. And the best part is they are saved alphabetically. So it's easy to just to a particular page to search for that song.
      I so wish that if i could extend that feature to my Roland if it's connected through midi.

    Wuss good family just checking to see if you can copy sequences in the fa 06 to make a verse, chorus , hook , intro and outro etc. to make a complete song.

    • @StephenMendes
      @StephenMendes  Год назад

      absolutely yes ...... from the sequencer menu select TRACK MODIFY ..... then select COPY ..... then you can select which track you want to copy (or copy ALL of them) ..... you can select the copy DESTINATION ..... the MEASURES you want to copy .... the types of MIDI EVENTS ..... and the number of times you want to repeat the operation .... it is indeed a very powerful and flexible tool to creating music 🙂 ..... if you have any difficulties using the tool just let me know and I can make a video to help you ...... but PLEASE experiment on a COPY of any "song" while learning how to use this tool cause it is easy to mess up and spoil your work UNTIL you get the "hang of it" 👍

      also the tempo tends to jump around any way of adjusting this issue can't have an off beat track know what i'm saying

    • @StephenMendes
      @StephenMendes  Год назад

      @@jameshardy5578 You have to LOCK the tempo with the following settings..... on the TRANSMITTING (playback) sequencer make sure that switches (or menu options) are set to transmit MIDI start, stop, clock and Song Position Pointer (SPP) ....... on the RECEIVING (recording) sequencer make sure CLOCK is set to "MIDI CLOCK" and the TIME SIGNATURE setting matches the transmitting song........ if you do not see all these individual settings on your sequencers then set "MASTER" on the playback unit and "SLAVE" on the recording unit (and the above settings should be made automatically for you)

    Hi Mate, I have a Roland fa 06 and wonder if you can help me with this. I have saved 5 tones from each category (eg. Piano, organ, brass etc) for live play. When I move from one tone to another, and then press the tone category button to revert back to the earlier tone, it doesn't come stright back to the same spot. Hence I have to manually search for the tone I was in.
    Can you please help me out with this.
    Not sure if my explanation is clear. I wonder if I can call you? I'm in Australia. Thanks

    • @StephenMendes
      @StephenMendes  2 года назад

      You are NOT supposed to do it that way...... you have to use the FAVORITES feature (along with Studio Sets) to organize the tones for quick access during your gigs..... you can even change tones with a footswitch if you do it the proper way..... here are the relevant videos .... USING FAVORITES ruclips.net/video/zb0UZXTueZ0/видео.html ...... USING FOOT PEDAL TO SWITCH STUDIO SETS ruclips.net/video/Vegx8mg8IKo/видео.html ...... I can schedule a ZOOM session with you and you can show me what you are doing if you have a movable camera setup (but you have to pay for this kind of support) ...... so familiarize yourself with my extensive library of videos for the FA-06 (there are 69 videos currently on the FA-06 playlist) and with a little experimentation you will probably figure it out ..... you can always ask a question (in the comments) and get a "free" answer 😁

    Is there a way to save the tone parameters when you change them from the knobs on the left (attack, eq, chorus etc)?

    • @StephenMendes
      @StephenMendes  2 года назад +1

      When you save the tone the value will be saved and restored whenever you load it back ..... no matter what the position of the knob is at the time

      @@dominiccottrill2387 the knob values are saved in EITHER the studio set OR the system settings .... you can choose which you prefer..... they are NOT stored with the tone ..... but what IS stored with the tone is the way in which the knobs affect the sound and by how much (sensitivity)...... I guess I will have to make another video ? 😂

    how do u save the beats . i lost like 10 beats , i save the beat then when i turn it off and back on to play them the data is there but my instruments are change its so frustrating ....my fantom x6 is straight forward it dnt do anything like that ...i dnt understand what im doin wrong

    • @StephenMendes
      @StephenMendes  29 дней назад

      You need to save your drum kit (you save it the same way you save a tone) and THEN save the studio set .... in TWO save operations .... first save the drum kit and after that save the studio set .... press the WRITE button select TONE and do that THEN press the WRITE button again and select STUDIO SET and do that and when you rename them use similar names so you will know they are related ..... it's a system that confuses a lot of people ... although I can see why Roland has set it up this way .... let me know if this works for you 🙂

    • @TStarbeatz
      @TStarbeatz 25 дней назад +1

      @StephenMendes so I use the drums already in the fa 06 , so it's no external samples , so basically whatever sounds I use to create my beat I have to save the studio set and then save the song , because I'll save the song when I'm done without saving the studio set , then when I turn it off an come back to the beat the song data is there , but the instruments are different...

    • @StephenMendes
      @StephenMendes  25 дней назад

      @@TStarbeatz correct ..... you must save the "Studio Set" BEFORE you save the song ... try it and see ! ..... it should "fix" your problem 🙂

    So when you take your SD card out does that mean it erases everything in it like songs and samples? New to the Fa-08 and it's fine if that's the case because I didn't lose anything amazing but I'd like to know for future songs?

    • @StephenMendes
      @StephenMendes  Год назад

      NO.... you do NOT erase the SD card merely by taking it out ..... the only thing that happens is that the songs and samples on the card are no longer available to the Fa-06 (so they disappear from menu UNTIL you put the card back in place)....... however, you should TURN OFF the FA-06 when inserting and removing cards for complete safety (to avoid any possible data corruption of the card contents).

      @StephenMendes thanks for that important info because I really don't want to lose anything when it come time for a complete song! Is there a good program I should use to record into my laptop for the finished song and would the best way to do that be the MIDI into the the USB of the laptop?

    How do you reload it tho

    • @StephenMendes
      @StephenMendes  5 месяцев назад

      it's easy..... to reload songs you just press "song select" and use the wheel to find the one you want ...... normally you would save the studio set with the song, but if you desire to load a different studio set then press "sequencer" and move the "highlight" to the studio set and you can change it from there...... I could make a video to show how to reload (from lists) every thing you can save ..... which includes, in addition to the above, patterns, tones, drum kits, arpeggios, etc.
