Okay. Very detailed video - thanks. One suggestion: FAST FORWARD (or even skip) repetitive tasks! For instance; I really don't need to watch all 4 motors being unscrewed ... one example is enough (just say: REPEAT FOR THE OTHER 3 MOTORS). This video could have been 1/4 of the length it was.
Thanks so much, I will order a new she'll and start the replacement again. I did use some locktide, may be that could be the problem, will do some test on the old shell, thanks
What a fantastic set of videos. I'm going to change my shell because of a recent crash from crappy DJI firmware on my Phantom 3. This set of videos definitely put some confidence on doing the repair myself. Looks like you were taking your time and were very careful. Where can I buy that same tool that you are using in the video? Any help would be great.
When I purchased my P3standard, I began sport flying primarily at night with my P2vision, since I lost my P2vision in a garage fire, I purchased my P3pro and now want to sport night fly my P3standard... Is the P3standard fly able without the camera/gimbal???
This is great!! Thank you for sharing. I'm building a bird around Phantom3 shell with CC3D FC and all the rest. You'd ask why? I'd say why not..I don't really like exposed electronics and the F450 frame so this was really very helpful.
I have a phantom three pro and I’m getting an esc error when I try to start the motors. How can I identify which motor is the problem if I can’t get any motor to spin?
Hi thanks for the videos, good job, I'm having some issuse when reinstalling the motors, since I was very carefull and didn't thighten them up I produce some crack on the base of the motor mount. Is there a special way or order to fit the screw and thighten the motor to avoide damageing the shell?
+El viejoperro Hello. I do not have any order when it comes to the screw, reason for that is, i "hand tight" the screws then back the screws haft a turn or one full turn, depending on how tight the screw, and i highly recommend that you do not use those locktite because the case is plastic. I hope this helps.
Thanks for making these video's. Can I ask how you how you removed the small cable from the vision positioning port?? (3.20) I am aware how to remove the 2 cables from the camera but not sure as to how to remove the small cable from the VPS housing and I dont want to force it. Thanks in advance.
I highly recommend against EVER disconnecting ANY cables by pulling on the wires! You should use either forceps or small needle-nose pliers to pull on the CONNECTORS ONLY! By pulling on the wires you risk creating a loose connection that you'll never be able to find & trouble-shoot. The only exception is the printed circuit-type cables, the ones that are basically "flexible circuit boards." (They are made the same way as flexible printed circuit boards (PCBs), and slide into a connector which is then locked to keep the flexible PCB cable from slipping out.) That;s only because the connector is stationary, and the flexible PCB cable slides into the connector (after you unlock the connector) and then you GENTLY slide the cable into or out of the connector. Remember to always unlock it before removing the flexible PCB cable, then lock it back after re-inserting the cable.
I replaced my esc board and now my remote won't connect to the drone. the app won't even let me select connect controller. should I remove the SD card from the old board and use in the new One? any ideas?
what made you decide to replace yourself? Aren't you technically still under warranty? And if you did this, then void your warranty? But i guess if you fix drones then its okay....
+3xilelast Hello. As soon as i noticed the crack on my P3 arms, i sent an email to DJI asking them what they can do about the shell, but i did`t received any response, (waited 2 weeks) so i decided to replaced it myself.
Hmm I sent an email and they responded and gave me RMA label but I thought I had to pay for sending it in but apparently no longer do we have to pay for send in shipping if located in Canada or US. So I sent to ask for another RMA but have yet to hear back from them. Will maybe give them another week or so.. but, my cracks are hair line and they don't seem to be getting any bigger so I may or may not actually send mine in afterall. Thanks for the response!
Crashed my 7 day old Drone.. Going 32MPH... . bottom right side.. where you insert the battery .. has a Gash. . and kinda Hovers Back right wing side clock wise.. . Thinking .. a lost motor mount. why it does that.!
+eric wang To iFixDrones, can you please make the appropriate changes, as I, too, am hearing no sound! I've maximized the sound level on the video and on my computer--yet, I hear nothing. I checked some other RUclips videos, which I hear quite easily. The problem seems to be with your video. Thanks for your assistance.
One of the very best repair videos I've seen. Great production value.
Thank you Peter, fly safe my friend!

Thank you very much for taking the time.
It's of great help if one wants to do it oneself.
Nice video mate, thumbs up. Cheers from the IGY Simpson Bay Marina, Sint Maarten in the Caribbean.
Thanks Captain! Fly safe.

Awesome video. Question where did you buy the shell? Mine recently broke and I can't locate the shell online
At 4:36 what size screw bit did you use?
What size Allen wrench did you use to remove the two smaller screws near the motors. Mine seem to be either too big or too small :/

IFixDrones i have a question for you. Will the camera work if the OFDM Receiver is disconnected on the Phantom 3 Pro?
holy detailed description batman!! Ive gone deaf,,,,,,
I have a phantom three pro and I’m getting an esc error when I try to start the motors. How can I identify which motor is the problem if I can’t get any motor to spin?
where did you find that gimbal lock? i searched several sites, eBay, amazon, and b&h and didn't see that one. looks pretty solid.
+thewaysect the plastic gimbal lock came with the drone
What kind of screw bit did you use to unscrew the smaller screw on the ends?
What torx sizes will I need. I just crashed my phantom 3 professional and the shell needs replacing along with gimbal mount and cable.
Thank you for this video man.
+UAS DRONE Very welcome and thanks!
🔴HELP!🔴 : Are the replacing steps the same on a Phantom 3 4K? Thanks!

+Colin McMurray Just pull the cable slowly.
+iFixDrones thanks for that mate. Took the cover off the VPS and then seen it was just a case of gently pulling. again thanks for the reply.
Helped me alot. Thanks!
+Dealviinde Productions Welcome!
Excellent videos, thanks for your tutorial, just replaced mine with your help.

PS.: Add some music lol

Which shell do I buy to replace a Phantom 3 4K drone? I assume it will be for the Advance / Professional and not the Standard?
yes get the advanced/pro shell.
Thanks, DJI said there is no replacement. Strange they would say that.
Good vid great channel subbed

Would a phantom 3 standard main board work in my phantom 3 advanced

I changed only 2 motors and I bought 2312 instead the 2312A, and didn't fly. And now I have the correct ones but don't work yet, ¿What can I do?
+brian ramirez You should only use the recommended motors, replace the two motors and it should be fine.
+brian ramirez You should only use the recommended motors, replace the two motors and it should be fine.
+brian ramirez the 2312A motors are the updated phantom 3 pro motors. be sure to use those.
