    Important update! There is now a separate damage buff "Damage done to monsters" (these stack additively together: Bahsei set, Velothi Ur, Ansuul's Torment) which separately multiplies like this:
    damageDone * enemyDamageTaken * damageDoneToMonsters
    Side note: Originally this was believed to stack together into the "damage done" group but is in fact a separate group. This makes sets like Ansuul slightly stronger than originally believed due to the multiplicative stacking.
    After doing some math for Arcanists wearing Ansuul vs. Coral Riptide at penetration cap.
    Originally we thought Coral Riptide becomes stronger than Ansuul below 78% stamina. However, due to the multiplicative stacking instead of additive, the correct number is 66%

      Does Major/Minor Slayer fall into this as its tool tip describes "increase your damage done to dungeon, trial and arena monsters by 5/10%)? Also where is stagger debuff applied - as an addition to the end?
      Great guide btw!

    At last an extremely useful video on ESO damage calculation that has all the information the game (I consider ESO tooltips a pain you know where) misses out to communicate correctly.

    THIS! Is a god send. Trying to fully understand the ESO gargin is quite the task. I appreciate videos like this. It really helps to simply things. Gives more options to create your own build and playstyles if you understand the data. Please share more of your spreadsheets and input methods

    Thanks for this man the game really doesn't put any effort explaining what stats you want for damage and all the recent adjustments make finding info online hard. No clue how people are supposed to figure this stuff out playing the game hahah

    I would love to see some kind of damage calculator for easy use. Just plug in numbers for the target, plug in numbers for youself and the attack your using, it calculates and pops out the damage amount. Thanks for taking the time to make this video.

    Hey @Plectro
    That Video is so awesome, thanks for making it.
    Since the Arcanist wasn't out yet, at that time I have a question regarding the Glyphic.
    Let's say you are at max crit, but the resource buff of the War Horn is not maxed out, is it still stronger to throw the Glyphic or should you cast a horn so everyone gets 10% more resources?

    • @plectro3332
      @plectro3332  Год назад

      According to my quick mafs, the glyphic's 200 Weapon & Spell Damage gives about 0.1% extra DPS to Sorcs and Templars (thanks to the bonus spell dmg %, who are expected to be at around 55% spell dmg increase) but is about a 0.1% DPS loss for other classes so tl;dr doesn't matter

    How damages are calculated for light and heavy attacks?

  • @vaguelyabstracted
    @vaguelyabstracted Год назад

    Thank you for this, it is very clear. One question - added damage from arena weapons. Does this just get added to the damage calculation, before damage modifiers and damage done modifiers? Or is it added at the end as a flat amount?

    • @plectro3332
      @plectro3332  Год назад

      I was told it gets added after modifiers although I haven't verified that myself and it's always a good idea to double check things you're told in ESO. Many times I was told the wrong thing!
      When it comes to Blackrose Prison daggers, that just adds a 6% Damage Done modifier to everything. When it comes to specific skills like vMA Inferno's wall buff, I think it ignores modifiers but I'm not 100% sure. Might be best to test for yourself

      @@plectro3332 Did a small test. The added damage is added before the damage modifier. Definitely got the damage modifier to the arena weapon.

    If i do build with 55k max stamina and 3k weapon damage for pvp does it hit hard , or focus on weapon damage with low stamina, because i love playing with high stamina

    Do we have a crit chance cap in the game? Just like a crit damage cap

    • @plectro3332
      @plectro3332  Год назад

      Not a hard-coded cap for crit chance really but technically it is capped at 100%. No reason to go over. Although trying to reach the cap would be very difficult and would likely require you to sacrifice more valuable stats to help you get to that (For example Nirnhoned main hand when dual wielding gives additional 200 weapon&spell damage, which is more valuable than having a Precise main hand for 3.4% crit chance)

    Who gives a f**k ?? It's not meant to be a maths game, that's for nerds. it's a combat game, so learn to use your weapons skilfully and stop worrying about numbers.

    Isnt 660 armor 1% damage reduction?

    • @plectro3332
      @plectro3332  Год назад

      For players it is 660. For NPCs it is 500. So if you're building armor for yourself or doing PvP, you work with 660. If you're building for PvE DPS, you work with 500
