I feel like it should be mentioned that people involved with The Acolyte have said that the acting in it is unintentionally hilarious. According to rumors, every scene has characters dressed in costumes, and the actors involved apparently struggled with delivering lines seriously while wearing the costumes. I also heard that the atmosphere while shooting felt more like a high school play than anything, so the actors were having a lot of fun acting in the scenes, but they were like "Oh... That's really bad," when watching the scenes later on.
I'll keep pointing this out, the major problem with the acolyte is that a non-force user has almost no chance at a straight fight with a Jedi. In KOTOR2, Atton Rand specialized in fighting Jedi and he is very clear how hard it is to fight against a super human who has super speed, constantly sees partially into the future and can feel the intentions of everyone around them and HOW he got around those super powers. Having an assassin just trying to run up and attack a Jedi would never work and is really dumb.
They have to be exceptional like the Maladians or Mandalorians to even think about defeating Jedi. It's even worse challenging a Sith. A heavily wounded Darth Plagueis without his lightsaber was able to destroy dozens of Maladians. A Sith Apprentice can even win out against Jedi masters.
There was also Teras Kasi, which - if utilized properly - _does_ work? It’s a martial style unique in the SW universe that employs meditation and mastery of the self to allow for almost superhuman feats, but it takes a huge amount of discipline to master. If you’re going to fight a Jedi or a Sith in hand-to-hand combat and aren’t a cyborg, then Kung Fury’s not exactly a bad thing to bring to the table.

And while its practitioners didn’t have any kind of telekinetic powers like Force-Sensitives, their strength and speed were on par with Jedi Masters’ physical feats. The style - in Expanded Universe, anyway- was actually created to counter Jedi, specifically, as the original masters of the art were victims in a brutal war the Jedi were involved in. So they would definitely have had ways to disarm lighsaber users.

Turns out, Rags was mostly correct about his guess about the first episode. The "murder mystery" of the plot is for all of one episode because that's how obvious the solution is (Most of the characters take two episodes to figure it out, but the audience gets it in one), but they don't give us full motivations until episode 3, that being said it's a shameless Kill Bill rip-off so it's obvious what the motivation is from the first scene. Aside from that, my Gods imagine being this hyped over a derivative show that steals from better films while doing none of them well, and make a mockery of the setting it's based in.
We already have something that fills in the gaps in Star-Wars, it's called the expanded universe. That's what it was made for, to expand on the lore and stories that the movies did not elaborate on as they were not relevant for them.

@@nagger8216 I agree that SWTOR doesn't handle Revan well but I don't discount everything else from that game. It doesn't handle KOTOR 1 and 2 well but as a stand alone game the story is quite good. Prior to Shadow of Revan it was actually quite easy to go through the whole game without running into those issues because you'd only run into Revan and Exile if you did the entirely optional flashpoints.

I feel like it should be mentioned that people involved with The Acolyte have said that the acting in it is unintentionally hilarious.
According to rumors, every scene has characters dressed in costumes, and the actors involved apparently struggled with delivering lines seriously while wearing the costumes. I also heard that the atmosphere while shooting felt more like a high school play than anything, so the actors were having a lot of fun acting in the scenes, but they were like "Oh... That's really bad," when watching the scenes later on.

I'll keep pointing this out, the major problem with the acolyte is that a non-force user has almost no chance at a straight fight with a Jedi. In KOTOR2, Atton Rand specialized in fighting Jedi and he is very clear how hard it is to fight against a super human who has super speed, constantly sees partially into the future and can feel the intentions of everyone around them and HOW he got around those super powers. Having an assassin just trying to run up and attack a Jedi would never work and is really dumb.
They have to be exceptional like the Maladians or Mandalorians to even think about defeating Jedi. It's even worse challenging a Sith. A heavily wounded Darth Plagueis without his lightsaber was able to destroy dozens of Maladians. A Sith Apprentice can even win out against Jedi masters.

There was also Teras Kasi, which - if utilized properly - _does_ work? It’s a martial style unique in the SW universe that employs meditation and mastery of the self to allow for almost superhuman feats, but it takes a huge amount of discipline to master. If you’re going to fight a Jedi or a Sith in hand-to-hand combat and aren’t a cyborg, then Kung Fury’s not exactly a bad thing to bring to the table.

The style - in Expanded Universe, anyway- was actually created to counter Jedi, specifically, as the original masters of the art were victims in a brutal war the Jedi were involved in. So they would definitely have had ways to disarm lighsaber users.

Turns out, Rags was mostly correct about his guess about the first episode.
The "murder mystery" of the plot is for all of one episode because that's how obvious the solution is (Most of the characters take two episodes to figure it out, but the audience gets it in one), but they don't give us full motivations until episode 3, that being said it's a shameless Kill Bill rip-off so it's obvious what the motivation is from the first scene.
Aside from that, my Gods imagine being this hyped over a derivative show that steals from better films while doing none of them well, and make a mockery of the setting it's based in.
We already have something that fills in the gaps in Star-Wars, it's called the expanded universe. That's what it was made for, to expand on the lore and stories that the movies did not elaborate on as they were not relevant for them.

Revan is meant to be *your* character, that's why he was so popular to begin with.
@@nagger8216 I agree that SWTOR doesn't handle Revan well but I don't discount everything else from that game. It doesn't handle KOTOR 1 and 2 well but as a stand alone game the story is quite good. Prior to Shadow of Revan it was actually quite easy to go through the whole game without running into those issues because you'd only run into Revan and Exile if you did the entirely optional flashpoints.
