I love this keyboard ! I have had mine for 10 years now and It's been one of the best things I have ever bought in my life. It's basically a portable piano. It weighs about 74 pounds. It weighs less than an 8 year old chubby kid and definitely less than a upright piano.
I have a Korg sp-250. It does weigh 74 lbs according to the shipment weight without a stand. They are both semular. Good to know that this "korg B2" weighs less.
This has the perfect piano and that one electric piano sound is fantastic but the catch with this is you can’t layer sounds!! I so would want to buy this but that stops me from doing so!!
How does it's action and piano sound fare against the Casio pxs1000? Pretty confused between the two of them. In my country, the pxs1000 sells for 50-60 dollars more.
That's definitely a matter of opinion. In terms of features the P125 is a better option, but they're quite different feeling and sounding instruments so it's worth trying both.

1, It is definitely a good instrument for a beginner through to an upper-intermediate level player. More advanced piano players would likely prefer to be playing on a decent quality acoustic piano - likely grand piano. It has simple functionality but a nice keyboard and sounds which are important. 2, In terms of investment - one way of thinking of ANY digital instrument (piano, keyboard, guitar amp etc.) is it's a bit like a computer. While it won't date quite as badly as a laptop, the technology is still moving on which is why most manufacturers replace their models every 2-3 years. The B2 is Korg latest digital piano so it is better than buying something at the end of it's cycle. In terms of resale value, I would expect a 10-year-old digital piano to be worth around 30-50% of the new price, although that is just an estimate looking back. It's hard to know what the economy will do going forward!
I used the headphone output into a DI that takes an auxiliary input (designed to take sound from a laptop) and then through a Presonus Studio 6|8 audio interface into Studio One. I intentionally left the sound clean in Studio One though so it wouldn't colour the sounds.
Hi. I believe everything I played on the video was improvisation or extemporisation. I had a quick listen back and it’s definitely one of the more ‘influenced’ pieces. It could easily be any number of gospel or show tunes.

1, no, unfortunately, it can't. I had a play before the demo to see if I could get it to and checked the manual. 2, you could do it in a similar way I recorded the digital piano. Using the headphone output. To get a quality sound I went from the headphone output into a DI box designed for this kind of signal and then into my audio interface. You can go straight in but headphone outputs can have quite a high output so be careful.
I am just curious if you have plated a Roland FP10, I am trying to decide between that and a Korg B2 being a beginner....seems like they are very similar and the price is the same....
Hi, I have tried the FP10 but not in as much detail - so I can't say why I prefer the Korg sorry. For me, it was just an overall impression of the sound and touch.

I bought the fp-10 but quickly returned because of the weak intern speakers.... do you feel the korg b2 has good speakers overall? like are they loud? and hows the feeling of the keys? Cheers
Hi. They're not the biggest speakers and I can't find the technical specifications on the Roland FP-10's anywhere which is odd. The Korg does draw more power though, which would suggest the speakers will sound better.

Hi Preet, thank you for your comments. I was demonstrating this instrument, I don't own it so don't played it regularly, however, things like this can be hard to comment on. I suspect you're talking about the sound that comes when felts wear away on the keys which might happen to an instrument quite a number of years down the track. I suspect cheaper instruments will develop these issues before instruments with better quality key-beds (like the Korg LP380) however I've personally never seen it happen - I move through instruments too quickly! It is worth noting that even an acoustic instrument will have these issues - the difference being they're designed to have this fixed, where-as electronic products (computers, keyboards, fridges etc.) are designed to have a shorter life span. That opens a whole other discussion on consumerism that we shouldn't go into here!

I bought this piano. I’m the happiest about it, but I’ve been wondering. My piano makes a hiss noise, when turned on. Played or not, same static noise. Is it normal?
It depends how loud a hiss you're talking about. I didn't notice this on the one I used to demonstrate - but often powered speakers do have a light hiss. It would be hard to diagnose over RUclips and I'm not a technician. Perhaps try contacting the place you purchased it from?

Yea, that definitely doesn’t sound right. My demo’s are all using that headphone output. Can you hear the hiss on that? It’s strange that you’d be getting a second hand one this early in the product life of the B2. They only came out in the last 6 months

Hi, sorry for missing this one. I'm unsure. They just mention it's modelled on a German piano, so it could be Bechstein also - or potentially a mix of the two. The hammer action is great for it's price, but the LP380 has the Japanese action in it (from memory!) which I personally prefer. In my country it's roughly 60-70% more though so you would expect it to be a bit better!

I'm stuck making a choice between Nux WK400 & Korg LP380U. I observed that the piano voice on Nux is more realistic compared to other well established piano brands (They have confirmed using Steinway Grand Piano for sampling) & cost is also less. Only doubt i have is regarding the durability of Nux Pianos as it is relatively a new brand. Which one should I go for ?
@@happylearning192 I would strongly recommend trying both of them if you can. They have quite a different feel and sound. In our store the Nu-X NPK10 has become our best selling digital piano because they're incredible value for money. But if people can afford things like the Korg LP380 they'll usually go for it.
You can't add sounds to the built-in sounds, but you can use the USB output to control a MIDI sound device (like a recording program or Mainstage) which will have limitless sounds
Hi. The B2 and B2SP are the same in terms of the keyboard part. The B2SP is the version with stand (S) and pedals (P) I mention in the video. This is useful if you're going to have it permanently installed in your house, and if you will use the left hand and sostenuto pedals. In New Zealand there is normally a $300 difference in price between the two options.
I think I mentioned it in the video. I recorded a little bit at the start of the demo with the camera. The main demonstrations were recorded using the headphone out into a DI box then into the audio interface to the computer.

I personally prefer the P45 for the piano sound and touch, but B2 for the EP and organ sound and touch. I don’t have much experience with the Roland sorry but the feedback I’ve seen is that the B2 is a better instrument

No. Never. Not even close to it I would think. 60 notes at the same time is a lot! Even playing big Rachmaninov pieces on it I didn’t notice any drop off.

Hi Craig, it is a little firmer than some keyboard pedals, but I find it a similar weight to a good pianos pedal. She won't have any issues pushing it down and it will prepare her well for playing on a real piano.

Hi Georgia, I’ve seen a couple of people run into issues with that because it’s different from most other digital pianos. On the bottom of the B2 about half way along is a socket to take that plug. It will only go in one way. From memory there is a place to put a standard style sustain pedal on the back of the B2, which is a different pedal than the one that comes with it. Hopefully that helps!
Are you talking about the app that Korg does? Normally to connect this type of device to an ipad you use a normal USB cable, and then the Apple USB to Lightening adaptor which you get from your Apple dealer.
The audio that is on the video? That was recorded from the headphone port on the B2 into a DI box into an audio interface. The sound is unaltered in the DAW. If you mean does it have speakers you can hear the audio through, then yes.
It may sound random but I wonder why my Korg b2 sometimes sound good and sometimes it sounds bad. I can also notice a difference with the feel when pressing a key. When it sounds good I feel something the lightly pushes the keys back up when I press it. I don't hear the hammer hitting the strings when it sounds bad so to speak. I tried to play with the settings but the beautiful tune just really comes out of nowhere
Thanks. All of the demos are things I made based on what the sound inspired me. Some are roughly based on other pieces. That one is pretty much just an original

Is the key action of this B2 lighter, similar or heavier than, say, a Yamaha or a Roland? I have a Roland and the action is lighter than on Yamaha digital pianos. In fact, as far as I'm aware, the action of the Yamahas is the heaviest on the market.
Hi. Thank you for your opinion. I'd strongly recommend trying any instrument you are looking to but to assess how you feel about the key quality. Things like 'sound' and 'key quality' are very personal opinions. What you like may be quite different from what someone else likes.

No it doesn't. It has a headphone output that you can hijack to use for that. That's what I used for the demo.

Are you talking about the app that Korg does? Normally to connect this type of device to an ipad you use a normal USB cable, and then the Apple USB to Lightening adaptor which you get from your Apple dealer.

The audio that is on the video? That was recorded from the headphone port on the B2 into a DI box into an audio interface. The sound is unaltered in the DAW.
If you mean does it have speakers you can hear the audio through, then yes.
is it my impression but KorgB2 keys look smaller than normal piano? am I wrong?

It may sound random but I wonder why my Korg b2 sometimes sound good and sometimes it sounds bad. I can also notice a difference with the feel when pressing a key. When it sounds good I feel something the lightly pushes the keys back up when I press it. I don't hear the hammer hitting the strings when it sounds bad so to speak. I tried to play with the settings but the beautiful tune just really comes out of nowhere
Marcoconutty the keys have to be played for it to start feeling more fluid.

Is the key action of this B2 lighter, similar or heavier than, say, a Yamaha or a Roland?
I have a Roland and the action is lighter than on Yamaha digital pianos. In fact, as far as I'm aware, the action of the Yamahas is the heaviest on the market.
I’ve found Korg to be a similar touch to Roland. Yamaha to me feels firmer. The heaviest I’ve found on the market is the Nu-X NPK-10

Honestly - sound is below a mid level...but what about a key quality?
Hi. Thank you for your opinion. I'd strongly recommend trying any instrument you are looking to but to assess how you feel about the key quality. Things like 'sound' and 'key quality' are very personal opinions. What you like may be quite different from what someone else likes.
The harpsichord sound is really bad
