Just like to point out, because I'm sure you've already finished the book. We have seen someone fight off blood bending before. It was Katara, against Hama. Only a more powerful blood bender can negate other blood benders.
Love the Reactions and I can’t believe how far ahead you guys are on patreon then RUclips 😂😂😂. I checked it and out and you already on Book four. I’m going to keep showing support on YT
I mean it’s great how you guys watch these shows. It really brings you back to a time when people where waiting for every episode a week to come out! Cheers guys Merry Christmas!
Nickelodeon played fast and loose with their commitment to LoK. The season-by-season renewals, and then cancellation made planning for the season a challenge but *on top of that,* Nickelodeon abruptly cut the budget for the final season, putting the creators in a bind to deliver the same number of episodes with less money to pay animators, voice actors--the people making the dang show. Nickelodeon also pushed back against a female protagonist, until the creators sold them on Korra being a very hands-on fighter/brawler. Part of what Nickelodeon was thinking about was toy sales. They assumed no boys (whom they were primarily targeting) would want toys of Korra. It's frustrating. Oh, and Nickelodeon also went the extra step of moving the show's time slot around. First season went very well in terms of viewer ratings, but then they moved it and ratings suffered. Final season eventually got pushed to online-only because Nickelodeon had basically given up on the show (DUE TO THEIR OWN SCREWING AROUND). It's why I am excited but also wary of what Avatar Studios can accomplish with this new deal with Nickelodeon because when the bean counters get in the mix, this franchise suffers.
The move to online only was a really dirty move at the time since their website had a really bad player and wasn't available on any legit streaming service. You had to be a super dedicated viewer to watch the final season.
What I do love about team Korra, despite their messy relationships and personal dynamics, is that they are all PROS at what they do. They go from arguing 1 second to merciless beating Equalists the next. Despite their flaws, the dichotomy between their battle prowess and emotional incompetence has always been entertaining to me
The issues in LoK are really pacing. Season one needed another 4 ish episodes and season 2 drags and is a bit... nonsensical. 3 and 4 are both very good in that regard
@@maloo538 Nick kept screwing this show over so badly, making it unclear how many seasons the show was going to have, forcing the creators to put Books 3 and 4 online. It's honestly impressive the show as a whole turned out as good as it did despite these problems
@@ashhabimran239yep and originally the plan was to just do a single season with Korra, then switch to other avatars. Like single season looks into different eras and events in various Avatar's lives but then the executives went. Nah Korra too popular you have to stick with her. Was at a panel with some of the creators and VAs a few years back and they talked about that. So they didn't have really a plan past season 1. And had to work out 2 through 4 all rather last minute never knowing how long they'd be sticking with Korra
2 isn't that bad If you want to talk about nonsense talk about season 4 and the IRON GIANT+DEATH STAR RAY and SPIRIT ENERGY WINES season 4 was going so well until they just started making up new technology that 1.makes bending 99% useless and 2 . Is none sense even for a fictional show
I will say, season 2 is not even bad. There's one part of it that's really messy and annoying, but the rest of it is absolutely gorgeous. The animation in it is top tier, the storytelling as well. The characterisations of other characters were fantastic as well, and it led into the absolutely stunning season 3. People just get so worked up about the 1 bad thing that they paint the entire season as bad when it was, in fact, fantastic.
Love the Korra reactions! Honestly, I'm a big fan of Korra, it was a blast watching this show for the first time. Only part I never enjoyed was the Love Triangle stuff. Mako is so unlikeable when it comes to being a partner lol 😆
Tenzin is not Aang’s only child. On the first episode Katara mentioned that they have two more kids, Kaya and Bumi. Tenzin is just the only airbender from their kids.
Season 1 was meant to just be its own short story. Then they got renewed for 3 more seasons. And while those seasons were airing, they got dicked around by Nickelodeon multiple times with time slot changes, budget cuts, it went completely online only for half a season, then came back to tv… it was a mess. And all of those little things started to added up.
Actually general Iroh is Zuko's grandson, not son. Also: Aang and Katara had 3 kids, she mentioned at the beginning of the show. But Bumi is not a bender and Kya is a waterbender.
@@heinszugzwang Literally none of that is a spoiler lmao. They mention siblings in episode 1 and considering none of them live on Airbender Island, you don't need to be Batman to figure out they're not airbenders.
At some points during the entire show most people who said they dislike the legend of Kora hate was mostly Kora and I quote "She is not a great character from the way she acts and treats some people in the early episodes" that's one reason that I remember people complaining about.
You guys are gonna love the season finale!! On the seasons question, Ruff is right. Every season they didn’t know if they were gonna get another one. Season 4 was all online because Nickelodeon took it off the air mid season 3
Really do love the subtle power scaling going on with Amon in these episodes, Aang needed the avatar state to break through the bloodbending while Amon just keeps casually walking forward with nearly no issue.
They really forgot about the confrontation between.... Katara and the original blood bender lady where Katara was able to resist by being the stronger blood bender.
I'm pretty sure that is already been said, tenzin is the only airbending children of aang, if you have children with another bender there is multiple outcome possible
I love the subtle foreshadowing in this episode. We have only ever seen two instances of someone resisting/fighting through the effects of bloodbending before we see Amon do it. The first one is in the episode it was revealed in ATLA Book three, where we see Katara resist Hama's bloodbending, essentially taking bloodbending out of the equation and turning their battle into a classic waterbender 1v1. At least until Aang and Sokka arrived to become Hama's meatshields. The second is actually just moments before we see Amon do it, where we see Aang break through Yakone's bloodbending using the Avatar state. So with this information, we can confirm that we know for a fact that Katara and the Avatar state can break through bloodbending. Given this, we can also assume that a waterbender, a bloodbender that is on the same skill of Katara at the very least, can also break through the effects of bloodbending. I just found that it was a nice little foreshadowing for the end of the season when Amon's true identity was revealed.
As far as I can tell, the ability to bloodbend without the full moon is just a matter of raw power and/or skill. Hama and Katara couldn't bloodbend at other times because while the water is within someone else's body, their own spirit fights back against outside influence and resists being bent. For Hama and Katara, the full moon gave them enough power to overwhelm this defense and bend another person's body. I don't think it's too unreasonable to assume that a waterbender with more raw power or more skill as a bloodbender could possibly manage to bloodbend someone without the moon's help. Hama invented the art, others have had more time to develop it since then. And I have a feeling that if Katara hadn't banned bloodbending and sworn to never use it again, she might have been able to do it one day herself.
To my knowledge the greenlighting of the seasons goes like this. Nick gave them season 1. Then Nick gave them season 2. Finally, Nick gave them seasons 3 and 4 at the same time. They knew season 4 was the end, I've never heard anyone say otherwise. Yeah, season 4 was left a little open ended; but not like overtly so.
You know it’s funny, because even if every air bender passed away, there is still a small chance that the Avatar’s children could be airbenders. Like it’s never truly extinct I think, just no one around to teach them airbending.
2:06 The issues is how Nickelodeon treated this show. It was just supposed to be 1 season. Then when they saw how high the ratings were, they greenlit a season 2 only. In the middle of post production for season 2, they gave them season 3 & 4
General Iroh is Zuko's grandson. And Dante Basco isn't the only voice actor from the ATLA series to return to Korra: you've heard Clancy Brown voice Yakone in Korra's visions (and he voiced Long Feng, the head of the Dai Li, back in ATLA). Then there's Asami's father Hiroshi voiced by Daniel Dae Kim, who also voiced General Fong in S2 of ATLA (he's the Earth General who tried to speed up Aang's Avatar state), and Daniel will actually portray Fire Lord Ozai in the Netflix live-action version of the series. There are a few more familiar voices who will return in the upcoming seasons of Korra. You may have already heard them.
Odds are that Combustionbending is related to the chakras, specifically the Fire Chakra it's located around the navel, which makes perfect sense because Combustion Man would sharply inhale before firing
Yes, the show runners never knew if they were getting more seasons beyond the one they were working on, so each of the books are self-contained narratives. That also means of course that the role of characters may change rapidly between books. Not because of character development, but because the writers want them doing different things for the new narrative that they couldn't have planned for ahead of time. Meanwhile Last Airbender had weaker episodes, but they were all contained under the umbrella of this long form story arc that brought it all together in the end. Characters had arcs that made them feel so much more real. Plus, individual episodes of last Airbender were contained for the most part. So even if the writing suffered a bit in one episode, it didn't spill into the ones around it. Korra did a more serial style narrative, so even if individual episodes throughout a book are cool, there may be elements from the worst episodes that necessarily impact the plot of later episodes directly. For example, no spoilers or anything, but Book 2 is quite possibly the most panned book out of them all, yet simultaneously has the most beloved two parter in the whole show. In any case, it's easy to get swept up on the hate train when there's so much negative discourse around the show, but I try to take the good with the bad. My criticisms come from wanting the show to have been better, lost potential so to speak, but I have a good time watching for the most part.
Season 3 is soooooo great, I think it's the peak of Korra's story, Season 2 isn't bad, it's just at a different pace and atmosphere which most people might not like. Just like you, I enjoyed every second of Korra...!
Amon in episode 9 was a BOMB for me! When I first saw that I faulted on my theory brewing and almost caved to what he claimed at the "Revelation". "The spirits have given me the gift. The ability to take away bending." **HALF SPOILER WARNING** I am SO glad I didn't faulter. I sat back down slowly, took a breath, and said, "You ain't that guy." I will not spell out the truth of Amon, but damn was the ride good.
Book 2 is the last favorite of most of the fandom, but still good. NOW, the book 3 and 4 are something else. I'm obsessed of how good this seasons are and also their villains. Fantastic
Don’t worry about the reason people don’t like it. Personally there’s a rough patch at the beginning of book 2 that get resolved and around mid season and everything else is 10/10 great show
TENZIN The Air-Supremacist? No shot..? Well... Maybe? Spoiler-free speculation only. I'd love to hear ur'alls opinions on something that piqued play curiosity while watching your most recent Avatar Korra video. But first... Y'all didn't sign up to hear my backstory or anything and so let me first just say thank you for your patience... and now, I'ma say my piece... I was a foster kid, from a very early age and graduated from the system at 18... I didn't have much of a social life in high school...I was an outcast, socially awkward stoner with only one or two friends... One of those kids who was raieed by anime and cartoons, lol... As an adult... I'd find myself a doctor who could help me get my shit together and navigate my social issues. Eventually I'd learn that I'm not actually antisocial, I'm autistic... It's been years since. I was diagnosed, I've learned a lot since then about living and coping as a person with autism. This has made it a lot easier to make friends and get people better informed. I have an amazing network of friends all over the country now, I started college recently ans life is good... But... Something was missing... My friends and I are all busy people in our mid 30s or older... the days where I could actually ask anyone close to me if they're down to have a Dragon Ball super watch party are not only over but, many of my friends are over the cartoons that basically saved my young life... So... I recently started checking out react channels because I never had the opportunity growing up to watch or fan boy over anything I loved with my bros. I never had bros... I actually found your channel by accident but when I looked at your homepage, I immediately noticed how many different shows you guys were checking out simultaneously. Not to mention how diverse a selection of personalities you guys bring to the table. And the chemistry that you all have with each other in spite of that diversity. I want to tell you that I really appreciate the enthusiasm and genuine care that you guys bring into each video. It feels like I'm actually sitting on a couch with my friends as they experience things that I truly love and appreciate for the first time... it's meant more to me than you guys could ever know... and it really is a great time guys... I know it sounds weird but thanks you for providing that missing piece.... it's been a hard year... And on the amount of different content you guys pump out. Mad respect... To get everything organized, shot and edited. If anybody ever gave you hell about watching cartoons for a living just let me say that I get it. Hell I'd be overwhelmed just getting everybody in place to do these kind of watch parties... I commend you for how much effort you guys are all putting in just so people like me can feel less alone and emulate the high school/ college social life he wanted but never had... Anyways, Thank you, and keep doing what you're doing. I have a feeling it's going to be fine Billy... Okay, fan theory time... Tenzin, is an extraordinary individual... but... I wonder how pressured he felt when it came to his lineage. When he and Lynn broke up they worked closely together for years and yet their breakup still feels fresh when they're together. Could it be that he left her because she was an earthbender. Is his current relationship just a calculated move on his part? An Earth binding mother might give him a child that is an earth or air binder or a non binder... but, a non binder could only give him an air binder or non binder. Did he choose her for this reason is his wife only a means to an end that he picks due to an obsession with his own lineage or pressures that were placed on him by his father perhaps to rebuild the air culture. It's an interesting thought
I hate waiting once a week for these 😭 but they’re so good. Keep it up! As for the seasons! Without spoilers, each season has its own storyline, but the following seasons tie back into the previous ones to a small extent
The first 2 seasons they didn't know if there would be more. While working on the third season they knew they would get season 4 and I think they knew that would be the end; although much like with ATLA they have release 2 comic trilogies post season 4.
So originally it was just supposed to be a mini series which is what book 1 is but then after how popular that was they got the green light for book 2 and 3 so they had to unresolve things from book 1 and set up for the new plot. Then part way through production of book 3 in early airing of book 2 it got renewed for 2 more seasons, then something happened in book 3 I won't spoil and they pulled the show off the air entirely, cut their budget and basically told them to wrap it up in book 4 which would only air sporadically and often was only released online with random last minute late night batches airing on nick.
I think the main criticism people have with korra stems from the fact that the last airbender was so good, so something that wasn't as "airtight" story-wise seemed like a letdown. Anybody hating on the show for anything else other than retcon's and minor story elements are just nitpicking the show and never actually gave it a fair shot imo.
Yea each season they thought it would be the last. So it was written that way. Therefore some story elements fall short or feel sour because they need to make the next season make sense based on the crazy stuff from the previous season
I loooove you guys theorizing maan absolutely golden 😂 I wonder If you figure everything out before it's revealed 👀 and lol about the Mako/ Korra / Asami- triangle: literally so funny when you actually know how it ends up😂😂
2:06, Dear Boom, As a personal avatar fans myself, we don’t talk about Season 2 in TLOK, but we do talk about season three. And don’t get me wrong season 2 has its ups and downs.
S2 really is not that bad yes it’s my least favourite out of the 4 books but it still has very high highs , Unfortunately as lok is only 12-14 episodes we do miss out on a lot of filler and episode that don’t advance the plot but gives us more character development as sone episodes in atla we’re filler but still gave us time with the crew and we got more from them unfortunately lok especially in book 2 is trying to build a villain and world build , while giving the other characters there own story’s while wrapping it up in 14 episodes and it’s not like they had a choice when Nickelodeon was so stop start with them
Season 2 may be the weakest of all 7 books, but I don't think it's as bad as everyone says, still better than many other shows out there. My biggest problem with it is that there's too much going on at once to keep track of, but it still has its merits. Book 3 however is amazing (I like how in both A:TLA and LoK, B3 is my favourite)
@@ashhabimran239 nah I prefer book 2 of lok over book 1 of atla , but ur right it’s still got amazing voice acting, animation, fight scenes, score and being out side of the avatar world it’s would be an amazing season just does have its issues but i over all still value what it gives to the show and do not shun it Side note , I prefer both 2 of atla, s3 obviously has an amazing last quarter of that season and still have some very good’s stand out episodes but I think over all book 2 for me is the strongest
From what I understand car was only supposed to be like a four episode thing. It was supposed to be just a short story but Nickelodeon wanted more eps.
You've probably completed season 4 by now! I hope yall would find out more background info and read up on the comics that came after (: The writers gave lots of background info regarding production, direction, and restrictions.
I remember that fans thought we were only getting Book 1 for Korra and then anything else with her would be in comics. Nickelodeon seriously mishandled Korra to the point where fans weren't even sure when the transition to comics would be.
I dont know how far ahead you guys are but if youre possibly watching the dvd versios of these episodes I have a very specific warning Season 4 episode 2 gives away a whole spoiler in the subtitles but only in the dvd version of it. You may just want to not use subs for that episode

Just like to point out, because I'm sure you've already finished the book. We have seen someone fight off blood bending before. It was Katara, against Hama. Only a more powerful blood bender can negate other blood benders.
Or just be the Avatar, since Avatar State is the ultimate "nuh uh" 😂
They on book four already
you@@colt1903 I feel like being the avatar just makes you better bender than others anyway, so the avatar would just be a better waterbender
Cheers guys Merry Christmas!
you may not remember but in the very first episode Katara said that they had three kids, two sons and a daughter, and she named all three.
Pretty sure General Iroh is Zuko's grandson, not son. Notice he's closer to Korra's age then to say Tenzin or Lin.
Actually he is in between. He is younger than Tenzin but he is an adult in his 30s, Korra is a teen.
@@lillykawaiifox : well, I did say closer, not the same, but you are correct.
I will never stop loving how haws are dropped as soon as Iroh ll is shown.
Despite their flaws, the dichotomy between their battle prowess and emotional incompetence has always been entertaining to me
"Do you think they are gonna flip"
oh boy do they know how flip they are
"Do we think it's gonna flip?"
My man you have no idea what season 4 has in store for you
38:37
RUFF: Ya’ll gotta kill this man already.
NAGA: I GOTCHU HOMEY
The amount of times Boom has said "thats how that ends?" in both avatar and Korra is insane lol.
*"My man's different!"* 😁
"I am the solution."
... Yeah, that's a hard ass line, ngl.😂
The issues in LoK are really pacing. Season one needed another 4 ish episodes and season 2 drags and is a bit... nonsensical. 3 and 4 are both very good in that regard
tbf, that's probably nick's fault rather than the showrunners
@@maloo538 it is. Season 1 was planned at 26 episodes and to be stand alone. Then it got halved. THEN it got a second season.
2 isn't that bad
If you want to talk about nonsense talk about season 4 and the IRON GIANT+DEATH STAR RAY and SPIRIT ENERGY WINES
season 4 was going so well until they just started making up new technology that 1.makes bending 99% useless and 2 .
Boom's about to be looking up Lin body pillows at this rate.
"Permed Friar Tuck" is wild. 😆💀
39:23 Oh gawd why did this make my eyes water? That expression on her face and the reactions LoL
(At 36:57) Somewhere in between 50-60's. Lin is DEFINITELY in her 50s.
Actually general Iroh is Zuko's grandson, not son.
Also: Aang and Katara had 3 kids, she mentioned at the beginning of the show.
But Bumi is not a bender and Kya is a waterbender.
Stop with spoilers!! Deleat this!
@@heinszugzwang Literally none of that is a spoiler lmao. They mention siblings in episode 1 and considering none of them live on Airbender Island, you don't need to be Batman to figure out they're not airbenders.
a murder mountain must be a blood bending thing cuz Hama def had one too lol
At some points during the entire show most people who said they dislike the legend of Kora hate was mostly Kora and I quote "She is not a great character from the way she acts and treats some people in the early episodes" that's one reason that I remember people complaining about.
Amon just walking through the bloodbending and saying "I am the solution" is one of the coldest things I remember seeing as a child
29:09 the way the ship is actually gonna flip just not the way you think lmaooo
You guys are gonna love the season finale!! On the seasons question, Ruff is right. Every season they didn’t know if they were gonna get another one. Season 4 was all online because Nickelodeon took it off the air mid season 3
Really do love the subtle power scaling going on with Amon in these episodes, Aang needed the avatar state to break through the bloodbending while Amon just keeps casually walking forward with nearly no issue.
You forgot... In the first episode Tema asks Katara if TENZIN'S SIBLINGS were like her kids. Tenzin is the youngest of three siblings.
(At 41:54) Yes, the General is Firelord Zuko's grandson.
David Attenborough: Little does the airship know that it's currently being stalked by its natural predator: the Beifong.
They really forgot about the confrontation between....
Katara and the original blood bender lady where Katara was able to resist by being the stronger blood bender.
Hama and Katara don’t compare to yakone family
@@AmarZion Okay, but the scene featured two members of that family so why does that matter?
Tenzin's earthbending @26:32 was INSANCE
Tenzin can’t earthbend.
@@butterflywarrioredits are u stupid
@@butterflywarrioredits Yes, thank you for explaining the joke. Click the timestamp.
42:00 grandson actually, Zuko had a daughter :]
38:01 aang has more kids guys it was said in ep 1 when he was first introduced... aang has 3 kids
So just to say, cause it's not a spoiller, Zuko actually have a daughter, named Izumi, who is actually Iroh's mother
Your just not a Beifong until you take down an airship.
So happy to see so many reactors appreciating Korra as much as I do.
I love that they don't have any defenses or tech to take out air bending 31:19
Bro this show is dope, glad to finally be seeing it
Odds are that Combustionbending is related to the chakras, specifically the Fire Chakra
it's located around the navel, which makes perfect sense because Combustion Man would sharply inhale before firing
I'm cackling at some of their predictions regarding shipping xD If you know, you know.
The ability to take away bending."
**HALF SPOILER WARNING**
I am SO glad I didn't faulter. I sat back down slowly, took a breath, and said, "You ain't that guy."
I will not spell out the truth of Amon, but damn was the ride good.
The baby has a bad habit of coming out at the wrong times
sometimes really high stress situations can induce labor
Rohan always rides in right at the peak of battle.
OKAY HERE WE GO!! I PUT OFF WATCHING THIS FOR A WEEK SO I CAN WATCH THE FINALE WITH YALL.
I hate waiting once a week for these 😭 but they’re so good. Keep it up!
As for the seasons! Without spoilers, each season has its own storyline, but the following seasons tie back into the previous ones to a small extent
Iroh is actually Zuko's GRANDSON. He was named after the greatest man Zuko ever knew
yes Chief Sikon's haircut is giving Detective Sipowicz (Dennis Franz) in NYPD Blue. And yes, he was a bigoted asshole lmao
The first 2 seasons they didn't know if there would be more. While working on the third season they knew they would get season 4 and I think they knew that would be the end; although much like with ATLA they have release 2 comic trilogies post season 4.
In an attempt to clear up and possible confusion, General Iroh is the grandson of Lord Zuko and the son of the current Fire lord.
“He wants to perfect blood bending in jail” HUH?!??
Why there is no available episodes after this one?😢
I loooove you guys theorizing maan absolutely golden 😂 I wonder If you figure everything out before it's revealed 👀 and lol about the Mako/ Korra / Asami- triangle: literally so funny when you actually know how it ends up😂😂
i was so glad to see Tarlok's immortality theory die a deserved death in this reaction, ngl 💁♀🙂 19:12
The ships are going crazy with these 3..... wonder what their reaction will be when it is all said and done at the end of the show
Oh no Aang did get busy, we know that Tenzin has siblings, Bumi and Kya, it's just that Tenzin was the only one with Airbending
2:06, Dear Boom,
As a personal avatar fans myself, we don’t talk about Season 2 in TLOK, but we do talk about season three. And don’t get me wrong season 2 has its ups and downs.
S2 really is not that bad yes it’s my least favourite out of the 4 books but it still has very high highs ,
Unfortunately as lok is only 12-14 episodes we do miss out on a lot of filler and episode that don’t advance the plot but gives us more character development as sone episodes in atla we’re filler but still gave us time with the crew and we got more from them unfortunately lok especially in book 2 is trying to build a villain and world build , while giving the other characters there own story’s while wrapping it up in 14 episodes and it’s not like they had a choice when Nickelodeon was so stop start with them
Season 2 may be the weakest of all 7 books, but I don't think it's as bad as everyone says, still better than many other shows out there. My biggest problem with it is that there's too much going on at once to keep track of, but it still has its merits. Book 3 however is amazing (I like how in both A:TLA and LoK, B3 is my favourite)
@@ashhabimran239 nah I prefer book 2 of lok over book 1 of atla , but ur right it’s still got amazing voice acting, animation, fight scenes, score and being out side of the avatar world it’s would be an amazing season just does have its issues but i over all still value what it gives to the show and do not shun it
Side note , I prefer both 2 of atla, s3 obviously has an amazing last quarter of that season and still have some very good’s stand out episodes but I think over all book 2 for me is the strongest
as a personal avatar fan myself season 2 is good stop shitting
@@millieboon That’s one thing I did like about Book 2
From what I understand car was only supposed to be like a four episode thing. It was supposed to be just a short story but Nickelodeon wanted more eps.
I legit never watched this show but I'm excited for season 2 because I know whats coming that's related to something they said lol
I AM THE SOLUTION 🗣️🗣️🗣️🔥🔥🔥
love watching this and seeing how they are conflicted with the asami, korra and mako relationship when we know now that asami and korra get together
I dont know how far ahead you guys are but if youre possibly watching the dvd versios of these episodes I have a very specific warning
Season 4 episode 2 gives away a whole spoiler in the subtitles but only in the dvd version of it. You may just want to not use subs for that episode
