I booked tickets to experience the film a 2nd time as I was watching this convo. The level of detailing he spoke about is astounding. I know all filmmakers are supposed to do that, but there's a reason films like SSE stand out. We usually don't get to experience this kind of detailed world building in most commercial Indian films.

One thing I noticed in the movie was, during the first time when Priya goes to visit Manu in jail, she offers seat to an elderly woman in the bus, which shows she has an innocence and is kind to the world, but later in the second half in the same route bus, the lady expects Priya to offer the seat again ,but Priya doesn't, which shows that Priya is frustrated and she doesn't want to be kind or nice to anyone, anymore because she thinks that it's of no use.
Actually I was expecting this to happen, and I was surprised when it actually happened. Great detailing 🙏

Started watching this and I think this showed me the movie in 3D. Kannada movies are a little costly to watch here in Toronto. I had to drive an hour to watch this move and I had to go alone(I have a 3 year old). So I have almost given 5 hours for this movie , followed by guilt of leaving my wife and kid behind. That's how much I love this guy. Hope god blesses him with more of such stories, long , healthy life and wealthy producers. Also, I don't know how Kairam can interview a director so creatively. For us, we just watch a movie and forget it but to watch a movie so passionately and to talk about it with its creator is an art. However, I think its easy to speak about a movie with a creative director like Hemanth. I would love to see Kairam discussing about movie with some pakka commercial, sumo blasting , joint family scene directors for this long. That requires some gundge. I wish they chat about Side B once it gets released as well.

Me being never a fan of romantic love story genre, deeply moved by this movie. I knew how Hemanth Rao movies are before but this one one was intense.
    Things I loved
    1. Tight screenplay with no not much cliche scenes. We are into world of Manu and Priya right from word go. So intro or how they met nothing. Still it characters sink deep into our mind and we are invested.
2.Attention to detail. Oh man, people are coming with lists on Twitter of detailing of every scenes.
    3. Top notch screenwriting where no unnecessary scene, dialogue is kept which made the movie watchable even if you watch it for 3rd time.
4.BGM. the climax scene BGM just rips your heart out.
    5. Rukmini. Never expected that level of performance whom we didn't knew anything till now.
Eagerly waiting for Side B. 🤞

An excellent film, with Rakshit delivering outstanding acting and Hemanth's direction shining brightly. The audiences in Malayalam and Tamil have long held high expectations for quality cinema. In recent years, even Kannada viewers have joined in this demand for exceptional movies, offering their support and encouragement. But Telugu audiences seem to be celebrating the re-releases of regressive films like Businessman and endorsing propaganda-driven movies.

I could able to connect to the emotions of Manu and Priya life...I would like to give one example why I call this director as intelligent and how deep he thinks about any scene he wrote...in the auditorium scene when Priya starts singing, manu who loves Priya from his heart comes and starts expressing his love towards priyas voice...I noticed here manu not only express his love but he also express his emotions towards her through his small tears which hides behind his eyes...this makes the scene even more beautiful...excellent acting by rakshit sir and i appreciate the detail work by hemanth sir.
I fell in love with Priya..who expresses her feeling that her world is nothing without manu and who wants to live her life with manu who is her only world. Superb acting by rukmini vasanth..
Different music but still relates to story everywhere also makes audience to feel the emotions and love... nice job Charan sir
Finally would like to congratulate the entire team for excellent work ...this is not just a film...it's an emotion..looking forward to watch more genuine film making from you sir...I am fan of rakshit sir ...I loved his all movies ...keep up the good work sir...i feel you are a big big asset to kannada industry...hope you will stay as kannadiga and make our industry proud with your good works..thank you

as people who are viewers of meaningful cinema be it any format we need to protect these outstanding film makers who have a terrific talent of telling us a marvellous stories irrespective of the language the characters they are speaking- As a person whose mother tongue is not Kannada, i was spellbound with Side a already.

The arc of Achyuth Kumar was not convincing that much because in last couple of movies he has portrayed similar kind of roles and it's becoming stereotype of the actor.

@@balu8885unfortunately the only thought process you see with many of them is how to impress the star they cast or the fan base they hold. As Rishabh says local is the new global, a film maker should first be true to the craft and what the story needs. Next time when you see a film maker using the word, 'holywood level' skip that movie eyes closed.

Fabulous analysis of the movie. The questions are so intelligently framed and the way Mr. Hemanth has analysed each and every scene, is mind blowing. It threw light on some of the scenes, wherever the audience had missed out the intricacy..
    Please analyse this scenario 😊
I am a very sensitive and emotional person, who cry at the silliest of emotional scenes. I have watched this movie, appreciate everything from superb acting, direction to all the technical aspects. Thought it is an emotionally loaded journey, it didn't bring tears. Is it because it is too perfectly made, the method acting or I had watched almost all the interviews (over exposure) before the release of the move ?
    Anyone can analyze...

I had the same thinking why didn’t I cry ?? ..however I was trying to listen sse title track and at the same time listen to “yava Mohana “ .. yava mohana easily pulled me and tears were automatic .. so could it be the bgm that also matters ?

    • @prasad8956
      @prasad8956 10 месяцев назад +2

Same here. I cried after Charlie, and expected so for SSE. But I didn't.. I sat back and asked myself the same question. I found few reasons, some at the personal level and few movie specific.
      1. I have been through such separation myself. Could relate to it completely. May be I don't have any more tears left to shed further.
      2. The movie prepares you for that. As audience we know where it is heading to. Though we root for them to be together, we are also aware of Hemanth's craft of being realistic and humanise those stories. So expected it, though didn't wish for it.
      3. Even I watched a lot of interviews leading up to the release. So accepting them as a couple was never difficult. So expected the separation to be the turning point
      4. Side B teaser at the end, gave a glimmer of hope of them meeting again. The revenge angle in that teaser perhaps subdued the emotions of side A.

I really like Hemath Rao, and I enjoyed the movie a lot. The only thing that puzzled me was that I don't think someone would get 10 years in jail for a hit and run. I think the maximum is usually 2 years. To make sense of it, I thought that maybe he tried to escape from jail, which is why they might have given him a longer sentence

Regarding Intentional Mistakes in Scenes: There is a scene in the beginning where Priya's brother is watching TV, however what we hear (if I'm not mistaken) sounds uncannily like commentary from the game FIFA 10. Would be great to know what Hemanth thinks of this :)
