This tune from Hokus Pokus helped form my musical taste and my whole life up to now.
Me has well..kids at school were listening to MC Hammer and New kids..I was like SUB SOCIETY!
back tail slides, back smiths, back nose grinds, 360 flips, pop shuvs, 360 oillies, blunt slides, back lips slides, nose blunt slides, front side hand rails.....best days of my life. Everybody watched this religiously. H street was our religion.
Fresh sidewalks were poured at the corner of my street in 1991. I carved the H street arrows on one whole block. Still there today!
I’m 17 and just watch lots of 80s skate vids and I can’t believe I didn’t think of that yet.
@@bigd1979 watch all the old Powell Peralta videos. Ban This is great!
Speed Freaks- Santa Cruz, Useless wooden toys- New Deal
Hockeyteeth I already did.
@@bigd1979 My skating days are long gone. Two ankle surgeries and being 44 years old don't help.
I miss the old days.
I was one of the better skaters in the Buffalo area. Well known on the streets.
Back in the 90s, skaters were a tight group that always had each other's backs and encouraged each other.
Not sure how it is now.
Tear it up man, take care of your body. ☮️
Hockeyteeth I just recently got an Rudy Johnson deck, Indy 169 trucks and some wheels and bearings that I’m gonna set up in four hours (10 am) and I’m gonna fuck with curbs because I have skate wax. I will make the most out of my age.
47 now and still crank this when I drop the old VHS tape of "New Kids on the Twock" snowboard video. RIP Noah Salaznek
it's kinda sad how many people from this video are no longer around.

Read on another video that Markus Wyndham ("This is Markus. You may not know him now, but you will someday") died in the early 2000s, but can't find anything to confirm that. In fact, there's not much out there about him after the late 90s.
Born in 73, cruising the streets in the 80's, Good times.
I love how skate films back in the day gave a leg up to unknown bands, wish they'd still do that now
They do
Always have.
@@beemelonhead1 u right

360 one foot at magnolia school 1990. Yes this was the best of skateboarding. Stoked I grew up in that era! Carlsbad ❤
Probably the most iconic skate rock song ever...
Yeah Matt! (Hensley)
I remember this song was stuck in my head for years back when I was 11. Now 25 years later its in front of me on my iPad at 5am because I don't have to work today but I can't sleep late. I guess it will be stuck in my head for the rest of my life.
:) same
Jay Eff I know the feeling. A lot of things change when your an adult. Im glad this time in my life wasn't one of them. I'll never forget putting in the h street hokus VHS tape in for the first time
This song has played in my head so many times over the last 30 years, and I knew it was from skate video, so after laying in bed this morning I finally hunted it down. Funny to see there are others out there that have had this song stuck in their heads.
If you are lucky!
Stuck in my head 30 plus years...
Same here 90s
H Street memories
I have occasionally played this song in my head/sung it to myself starting at the :30 second mark for nearly 30 years. It's been so long since I even remembered where I first heard it, but I randomly decided to hunt it down with Google this morning.
42 now still remembering shredding my deck to this, ripped from H-Street Hokus Pokus VHS video with a cable from 1899.
Sub Society was a San Diego band late '80's early 90's
i ve meet matt last year. what a cool personality. he was so kind and he was so cool in everything he said. that was maybe the best highlight in my life, except the birth of my daughter;-)
Man! The end of my videotape was fucked up and I finally know who is this band after 20 years. Thanks to the internet.
When reminiscing about skating this song is often playing in my head. Matt had such cool style...complete with a chain wallet.
Brings back lots of great memories of the first show I ever went to back in the day (circa 1991).
RIP lead singer. Michael Steinman aka Stimy
Reminds me of a better life, better friends, and better music
Couldn't have said it better myself. Age 47 here
Yep, I remember this from Hokus Pokus.
I spend my time thinking about you when I know I should think less.
Thinking about you girl I think a whole lot less

Una delle voci piu particolarmente Calanti e hardcore punk dell'underground
RIP Stimy💓🇺🇸🇮🇹
on the 80s Hokus Pokus H-street vid soundtrack....ace.
It's funny. Our guitarist Tommy was in an anarco-punk band called Subsociety in nor cal. Looked everywhere to see if anyone else had the name but found nothing. Later, watching Hokus Pokus, an all time favorite, heard this song and saw it was Sub Society. Sounded NOTHING like this band, more like Crass, but still they were hoping they wouldn't get mixed up.
Awesome!
Here come the combos on the School W bar..
