I'm trying to model a violin scroll in 3d software. In its side view, the spiral representing the shape looks logarithmic, but with some jumps. Is it possible to understand this mechanism mathematically or is it purely artistic?

The Logarithmic spiral is Asymmetrical right? It feels more pleasing to look at compared to the Archimedes Symmetric spiral, like it just wants to keep going. I wonder what effect making our electronics Asymmetrical would have?
