All those COD/Warzone streamers are really influential with normies. They have enornous audiences. From a business standpoint it makes sense EA would fly them out to play it especially since all of them are really unhappy with COD at the moment. People don't seem to know how much more popular COD is compared to BF. The best selling BF game ever was BF1, which sold 25 million copies, and that is basically equivalent to a bad year for COD. COD usually sells 30-40 million copies a year, and on a good year it is 40-50 million. That could change over the next few years though if COD doesn't make a hard pivot away from the path that they're on with a cartoony aesthetics and wacky bundles.
The Battlefield OG content creators were also there, and their viewers scaled x4, with advertising, you want to include these COD things, so that other part of the community are also attracted.
You forget that people that consume content about games is like 5% of the consumerbase. The average gamer that plays a few hours per week has already preordered.

the issue with squad size is squad spawn. The moment a rat gets behind enemy lines, you may suddenly have SIX rats in new squads waiting for others to spawn on them

Story was never good except Bad Company. No one but RUclipsrs want Single Player Campaign. Look at the Trophy ratio for BFV some of the best Story since bad company, no one played that, what like 1% completion of the story of the entire player base last time I checked.

I see lots of Abrams, I hope we get to see/use some Leo2s or even some of the Swedish stuff like the CV90 (in this vid, it seems like one side only has the CV90 while the US gets the Brad and Abrams, hopefully they are keeping some other vehicles away for later reveals). One of if not the best IFV around these days (I'd hope to see a Marder or at least a Lynx too). I see a Gepard! I'd really like, if they do cosmetics also for vehicles, to pull from Ukraine's upgrades/mods on the Brad and other. ERA on a US vehicle looks pretty cool, and the anti drone cages. Similar like I've seen on the Marder and CV90 etc. Whether or not they want to do a reference to ongoing things, could take inspiration to current vehicle mods in a pretty cool way. -Hopefully the Gepard isn't restricted to burst fire, looks sorta like unless that player just fired it like that. It should be able to fire its twin cannons like a machine gun. The guy riding the CV90 is my spirits, I'd be mech infantry likely.

Normally I'd agree with you, like if Beavis and Butthead was the very first Fortnitification of CoD then it'd be a dark day, but because the game is already a total clown show, Beavis and Butthead is at least actually funny, especially the voicelines and stuff. getting a bunch of influencers for the release gives me a bad feeling. trying to buy clout is never a good sign. cosmetics is an easy fix, just make each map/group of maps different factions that can have multiple authentic looks.
I bought a PS5 for 2042 and i played the beta and waited for launch for them to fix it hoping the beta was a couple of months old and i never bought the game even 2 years after its release
I missed when Battlefield 2 and 3 you were able to put 5 satchel charges in the jeep and drive up to tank and jump off and blow up the jeep with the tank and get multiple kills. This was what made BF fun. Also, the sniper guns had realistic bullet drop from far distance so nobody can aim and shoot that easily. They should also bring back warships that allow you to control and shoot and AA turrets to shoot planes down. Submarines? Like make BF land and sea and air like how BF 1942 was.
You can be excited, but hold your horses! Remember! Gameplay-wise, Battlefield always (mostly) looked good. But when it comes to small details that add up for the whole game, such as ranked progress, medals, and the stats page... If they don't make it good and the game is half-baked and only focused on glorious-looking gameplay... I hope that they make a good, slow, decent speed on ranks and that the stats page is something you want to look at in the long run to see how well you're playing, etc. The medals are long-run progress. I don't want a Battlefield that throws 10 ranks under one day or even four ranks. Don't throw tons of loot boxes or 100 attachments at me. Let us enjoy the gameplay with a slow, steady progress that makes you feel like you're working forward to something good. Just because of tons of destruction and cool effects isn't everything, and don't fall for every cool detail; we haven't seen ranks or anything outside of the combat gameplay. Don't pre-order until we know much more! (We have Arc Raiders if Battlefield fails 😜)

What's sad is returning to the fundamentals is bare minimum. People forget that the guns felt incrediblly unique in Bad Company 2, the vehicles felt powerful in BF3/4, the maps and classes were balanced for the most part in BF3/4. It's not just about giving legacy features and calling it a day.

128 players is dumb. It was way too big and definitely contributed to 2042's maps being as empty and lifeless as they are. The maps have to be massive to accommodate those numbers, which leads to less dense and boring maps
I keep seeing comments like this but a LOT of people were extremely skeptical about 2042 before launch. The main sentiment coming out of the beta they held was that it needed more time and they weren't sold on the vision. Same with BFV.

I just want BF4 with updated graphics and new maps. It's pretty simple, and I'm sure many can agree, but it's EA we're talking about. They're not very fond of making good games, even when they're easy dunks. I'm already skeptical because of the whole "Needs Secure Boot ON to play on PC", but I'm willing to wait for release before I make a decision to buy or not.
One challenge EA is gonna face is that the younger generation doesn't care about Battlefield. They've grown up playing the likes of Fortnite, Rocket League, Valorant etc, all while Battlefield has been a floundering series. Ask an 18 year old what they think of the Battlefield games, and they'll probably just shrug their shoulders at you.
The worst thing is that BF2, BF Vietnam, BF2142 veterans have been entirely forgotten about and now BF3, BFBC2 and BF4 are the veterans that are going to be forgotten about. Like seriously, theres a ton of people who have never played BF3 or BC2 or BF4 and they grew up on BF1, BFV and BF2042 - and that is the Battlefield experience to them, we are simply not going to get a good Battlefield again until they decide to remaster BF3 or BF4 (which is not going to happen since BF6 is essentially a sequel to those games even tho its basically MW2019 + BF2042)
This is the reason they go full chaos and faster gameplay but still to be good for the old players they need them but if they dont take the new players will be sad. I love the slower gameplay but is not for everyone and a billion dollar franchise cant make happy only the 50.000 who will play every day they need players and money. Imagine a game better in every level than cod and they have every time lower player base is sad they made the risk with 2042 they fail they come back with bf6 to make every old player happy but still stupid chaotic and fun for new players we cant ask for everything if we want our franchise to have future we need the new generation who play only fortnite but will be hard to make them happy with something who is full war and not garbage cartoon

engine limitations have nothing to do with squad size... it's just common denominator for numbers 64, 32, 16 and 8 is number 4, same as number of classes. plain and square

4 man squads are better. the main appeal to battlefield is the massive tug of war that it is, and having bigger squads would make the whole thing feel smaller in scale. your class also has higher value in a 4 squad than a 6.
No they aren’t. 5 and 6 squads were in the originals and meant better team work. Squad leaders were more important and worked with commanders, the modern BF are so dumb in comparison

I'd really like, if they do cosmetics also for vehicles, to pull from Ukraine's upgrades/mods on the Brad and other. ERA on a US vehicle looks pretty cool, and the anti drone cages. Similar like I've seen on the Marder and CV90 etc. Whether or not they want to do a reference to ongoing things, could take inspiration to current vehicle mods in a pretty cool way. -Hopefully the Gepard isn't restricted to burst fire, looks sorta like unless that player just fired it like that. It should be able to fire its twin cannons like a machine gun. The guy riding the CV90 is my spirits, I'd be mech infantry likely.

I bought a PS5 for 2042 and i played the beta and waited for launch for them to fix it hoping the beta was a couple of months old and i never bought the game even 2 years after its release

I missed when Battlefield 2 and 3 you were able to put 5 satchel charges in the jeep and drive up to tank and jump off and blow up the jeep with the tank and get multiple kills. This was what made BF fun. Also, the sniper guns had realistic bullet drop from far distance so nobody can aim and shoot that easily. They should also bring back warships that allow you to control and shoot and AA turrets to shoot planes down. Submarines? Like make BF land and sea and air like how BF 1942 was.
You could do that in every BF game. Even BF1, so there wasn’t much that you missed in terms of mixing game mechanics

Remember! Gameplay-wise, Battlefield always (mostly) looked good. But when it comes to small details that add up for the whole game, such as ranked progress, medals, and the stats page...
If they don't make it good and the game is half-baked and only focused on glorious-looking gameplay...
I hope that they make a good, slow, decent speed on ranks and that the stats page is something you want to look at in the long run to see how well you're playing, etc. The medals are long-run progress. I don't want a Battlefield that throws 10 ranks under one day or even four ranks. Don't throw tons of loot boxes or 100 attachments at me. Let us enjoy the gameplay with a slow, steady progress that makes you feel like you're working forward to something good.
Just because of tons of destruction and cool effects isn't everything, and don't fall for every cool detail; we haven't seen ranks or anything outside of the combat gameplay.

What's sad is returning to the fundamentals is bare minimum. People forget that the guns felt incrediblly unique in Bad Company 2, the vehicles felt powerful in BF3/4, the maps and classes were balanced for the most part in BF3/4. It's not just about giving legacy features and calling it a day.

128 players is dumb. It was way too big and definitely contributed to 2042's maps being as empty and lifeless as they are. The maps have to be massive to accommodate those numbers, which leads to less dense and boring maps

I keep seeing comments like this but a LOT of people were extremely skeptical about 2042 before launch. The main sentiment coming out of the beta they held was that it needed more time and they weren't sold on the vision. Same with BFV.

I just want BF4 with updated graphics and new maps. It's pretty simple, and I'm sure many can agree, but it's EA we're talking about. They're not very fond of making good games, even when they're easy dunks. The commander in BF2 was such a great set of mechanics.
One challenge EA is gonna face is that the younger generation doesn't care about Battlefield.
They've grown up playing the likes of Fortnite, Rocket League, Valorant etc, all while Battlefield has been a floundering series.
Ask an 18 year old what they think of the Battlefield games, and they'll probably just shrug their shoulders at you.

The worst thing is that BF2, BF Vietnam, BF2142 veterans have been entirely forgotten about and now BF3, BFBC2 and BF4 are the veterans that are going to be forgotten about. Like seriously, theres a ton of people who have never played BF3 or BC2 or BF4 and they grew up on BF1, BFV and BF2042 - and that is the Battlefield experience to them, we are simply not going to get a good Battlefield again until they decide to remaster BF3 or BF4 (which is not going to happen since BF6 is essentially a sequel to those games even tho its basically MW2019 + BF2042)
This is the reason they go full chaos and faster gameplay but still to be good for the old players they need them but if they dont take the new players will be sad. I love the slower gameplay but is not for everyone and a billion dollar franchise cant make happy only the 50.000 who will play every day they need players and money. Imagine a game better in every level than cod and they have every time lower player base is sad they made the risk with 2042 they fail they come back with bf6 to make every old player happy but still stupid chaotic and fun for new players we cant ask for everything if we want our franchise to have future we need the new generation who play only fortnite but will be hard to make them happy with something who is full war and not garbage cartoon

4 man squads are better. the main appeal to battlefield is the massive tug of war that it is, and having bigger squads would make the whole thing feel smaller in scale. your class also has higher value in a 4 squad than a 6.
