I will say it is good it looks like Twitch. I noticed lag time was much less watching someone who was streaming on both platforms. Trovo tried to compete with Twitch but it was so different it was hella confusing. I just want to know what the bits, same day payouts and 95/5 split will look like. I do want to know what the advertising will look like too.
If you don’t like gambling, don’t watch it or do it. Monitor your children’s internet content. It should be a non-issue. If a gambling organization wants to provide a better service for all streamers, count me in. I’m waiting for the bugs to clear up a bit, but I’ve made my account and will try streaming there soon.
@@xTwoShoes An interesting point is if they will prioritize gambling streamers above all other streaming categories. You’d be fighting against a different algorithm. If that’s the case, discoverability will still be an issue.
This is def gonna be a time will tell type situation so let’s see if this platform can survive or if it will crash and burn like the other platforms befor it
you dont let children into casinos (in america). if you cant create managerial policies to get a large majority of minors eyes off gambling channels and you know that a large majority of your demographic are under 18, you are ethically responsible to adhere to those laws, imo. i am also swayed by the very, very basic argument of *raise your own gd kids*
Sure I agree people need to raise their own kids, but the reality is that the internet is so easily accessible and it's SO hard to police what your children watch without being a complete control freak. My parents probably can't name a single streamer or RUclipsr that I watched growing up, even if watching them has been a huge part of my life. Of course, I think the onus is always on the parents, but if we KNOW statistically that the parents aren't stopping their kids from going online and getting addicted to gambling, I think the onus falls on us as a society and on Kick as a company. Plus... you made a great point, these huge millionaire streamers know their audience very well, they know what they're doing, and they continue to do it with intent, so logically they should be held to the same standard as a casino.
@@foxcollr831 I mean I think if we as a society want to implement some good culture, you should look at the parents before you look at kick. Your parents not investing time in your hobbies isn’t an excuse for bad parenting and regulating companies. Both options could work but one would be way less expensive for both parties involved. Raise your kids properly. If they have an internet addiction, it’s the responsibility of the parent to monitor. Unless you think China is doing it right and let’s the government raise the kids.
It’s probably worth creating an account and testing it out as it runs its course. Even if it eventually rivals Twitch, it’s got a long way to go. I did the same when I heard about Trovo. I’ve already switched from Facebook Gaming to Twitch and rebuilt once before, definitely not in a hurry to do that again. I think it’s good that Kick is familiar to Twitch and I’m not against the gambling aspect so long as it’s done responsibly. The DMCA checks obviously need to be tightened up sounds like.
I genuinely think this is going to fail just like most of the "Twitch killer" startups out there. Until someone comes along with a sustainable, creator-driven, yet profitable model for a streaming site, we are left with all these shitty sites that shoot themselves in the foot right from the beginning. Twitch is in no way a perfect platform, maybe not even a good platform right now, but I would take it anyday over Kick. If RUclips adjusts its interface and updates its functionality to catch up to Twitch, I believe it could genuinely be the best livestreaming platform out there. The idea that a site comes out literally copying Twitch's interface note for note, promises to be better than Twitch in every single possible way, and then announces they are partnering with the 2 biggest gambling streamers on the internet with these HUGE contracts... nothing about that seems right. The fact that people are comparing it to Twitch saying "oh well Twitch still accepts money from gambling sponsors" is ridiculous. They are on such a wildly different scale when you consider Kick is pretty much ENTIRELY driven by gambling, compared to Twitch taking a little bit of money from a few sponsors. It is absolutely unethical IMO and there is nothing stopping kids from blowing money on these gambling sites and lining some greedy executive's pockets. It's incredibly addicting and attractive to minors, and a LOT of XQC and Train's audience is minors.
There's too many secrets with this already. It seems SUS to me. That's where I am at with this right now. Won't make an account as of right now. Not for me. But anyone who does, same as on Twitch, I wish you the best of luck !
I'm skeptical tbh, I want a new place to stream so bad, but with the way they hide the owner of kick, and with how their ads are probably going to be, it just makes the site less appealing.
Y’all gotta ease up lol. What’s the problem with stake running it? Probably a good thing since they’ll have the money to back up their perks. People will always gamble so you aren’t saving anyone by not streaming on there 💀, unless you’re participating in the gambling what’s the problem?
What are your thoughts on all of this madness? Let me know below or when I'm live at www.twitch.tv/xtwoshoes
I am already monetized on Kick... I have never reached monetization on Twitch. That is a big difference! The rest is yet to be seen.
I'll certainly be keeping an eye on it, but I don't think I'm going anywhere just yet.

Been following your RUclips gor a couple years now shoes, good to see you covered kick
Thanks!

We'll have to wait and see for sure!

IF this business plan is actually viable, it could be something. But IMO it's a big if.
Appreciate your content
Big if indeed! But interesting all the same!
Thanks so much
Nothing will kill twitch but twitch itself. Twitch will have to fall before anything takes it’s place and even then it will probably be RUclips.
Interesting point for sure!

Agreed

You got me in the first half, not gonna lie
The platform got a lot of us at first I think lol
So is Dan moving to kick?

I'm still skeptical of kick, especially after the $16 dollars an hour statement for all streamers. How are they going to afford that?

Sounds too good to be true...
As the old saying goes!
How is a same day payout even possible?
I speculate towards the end of the video that it may be possible due to being paid out in crypto.
@@xTwoShoes Yes thank you good sir I made my comment before the end of the video like a right sausage aha D:
Will KICK ever be released to console?

Yeah defo seems weird. When I first heard of it I was almost sold but "when things seem to good to be true..."

@Parf8 oh I personally don't care about the gambling, but just the way they hid it, that was my thing.
People that follows train 🤡
