I give Ford/Lincon alot of credit for making something that looks DIFFERENT as opposed to every other car company who copies one another. Good job guys!
These were great vehicles, far superior to Cadillac & luxury imports. Maybe the styling was radical, but they did stand out as pure modern luxury. Not many around, but in 10 years these will be considered collector classics. No doubt this vehicle paved the way for the new Navigator.
I just bought a 2008 Lincoln MKX with 137k miles on the engine but the body and transmission have 217k miles. Currently has a bad ball joint in the front right which is to be expected with the miles. I heard the MKX has hydro bushings up front, I wouldn't be surprised if the MKT does as well. Hoping to get the Lincoln ride quality back once that ball joint is replaced. Have you ever had to replace the internal water pump in your MKT?
The market was not ready for this car. Whale, ugly, whatever I'm buying a 2011 specifically for looks and features. Love that grill and features not offered elsewhere. Modern classic car.
I may be yelled at for this, but the more I see it the more I warm up to the styling. Not saying I would buy it but its nothing that would kill you to look at everyday.
We love ours, trouble free but brakes . 278,000 kms so far. Fast as hell. Runs to 200k limit in no time. And if you think it's ugly enjoy driving a x6 Beemer. Now that's ugly
@APR846 heh, look at Audi and the new A8, VW with the Passat or the new 5 series. These are the manufacturers that are losing their personality IMHO. The MKT and the rest of lincolns lineup are great looking cars, just because it looks a bit different it doesnt have to look like some generic whatever.
This is a poor substitute for the Lincoln Town Car. People would use a Car/Limo service to arrive in style with in a Black Town Car. It was just one notch below a chauffeur driven Rolls Royce Phantom, Maybach, or, Bentley Flying Spur or Mulsane. With this MKT, people would be ashamed to be seen in it and have the driver drop them in the back so nobody sees them.
i saw it at the miami aoutoshow it's small uncomfterble and yes it has all those nifty features that everyone elese is doing. it looks like a big headed mkz, for the price there are dozens of competitors. so why is ford throwing lincoln to the wolves with this?

i remember watching this show when i was 18, im 41, love the guy!
Yes! Ive been watching John Davis since i was 5 in 98, and he's still a great host and narrator for the road tests.
Fast. I don't know if qualifies as "beautiful", but has an image of his own. Thanks Motorweek.
This vehicle is underestimated. Lots of room, comfortable seats and smooth ride
the 2010-present Lincoln MKT is assembled in
Oakville, Ontario, Canada

i really donet mind the styling at all, looks different, but not bad
Very nice this Lincoln MKX
I'LL take the twin-turbo any day 😅😅
People that have or rode in one love these. I got over 400k miles on mine and love the balance between ride quality and handling.

I love the design. Front is beautiful,. Rear was ahead of his time. Simply wow I miss mine

0-60 in 6.1 sec? Hot rod Lincoln...
That concept car tho. Why it looks so much better then production version?
Ivan Fedyshyn the concepts are always better than the production car. The only exception I can think of is the Lexus LC.
graceful
Wow almost 15 years ago
Would not trade my 2014 Elite for anything. Amazing car!
I really like this car, pretty to me, personally I want a v8 tho, the v6 gets v8 gas mileage without v8 sound...
this turbocharged V6 gets V8 performance! maybe even a bit better.
The wagon sho we always wanted
When those Turbos Give out you're on Limp Mode .
Exterior and gas mileage are my only beefs otherwise like it.
cant wait to see the navigator with that grill!!

there is one perfect word to describe this car, WHALE. The grill even looks like the bristles of a whale.

You obviously haven't experienced one or anything like it. lol!
How can something sooooo UGLY come from a beautiful car like the flex.
@Motorfordtoyota name one.
The styling and editing of this video feels very 90's to me. Is this on purpose?
Excellent engineering… seriously. If only it wasn’t so darn ugly
im a big ford fan, BUT this makes me want to puke.

I dont think its going to sell well...
Look you were right, it was an ugly blob for sure
And you were right
Saw one of the road and I winced...it's that ugly.
LOL at how poor the 3rd row is!
LOL I laughed when his head was banging the roof.
@@palermoVmusic Much more interior room in the Ford Flex 3rd row, basically the same thing as this Lincoln MKT but different shell.
I hate the front.
I'd much rather have a flex
I'd rather have the R-Class
And pay 25K more?
@@casmatori and get a v8?
Yep, that is a whale.
thank u somebody else sees that...they are loseing personality matter of fact on some models they have....
Ugly azz hurst & a shame. I'd rather have a flex hands down.
I preffer the MKX
I don't mean to be mean, but honestly, this thing is ugly. It's a good idea, though. Just change the styling.
Lawd those things are ugly
is it just me or a lot of mid-sized SUVs like MKT, BMW X3, the new CR-V , all have really ugly, shitty looks
just my opinion , it's kinda ugly
Still a ugly car I like their mks. Model better
