    Law as a member of SWORD would be pretty nice ngl. he doesn't seem to be the kind to care about large treasures or being pirate king, but as a member of SWORD he could be looking to pay back Rosinante and maybe even lead a life Rosinante would be proud to see him lead

      even if he is a SWORD or not but judging by the person who is valuable to him is a Marine, no wonder Law still has sympathy for some Marines for example Smoker, even though he is hot-headed but Smoker can also be invited to cooperate with Law such as fighting Vergo and even talking about Law's plans . Smoker also didn't open his mouth about where Law and Luffy were going when Doflamingo came and asked where Law and Luffy were going.

      Yeah, Sengoku is the first person we see managing a pirate double agent (Rocinante). I'm surprised Liam didn't mention him as a possible leader of SWORD, especially since he picked Kuzan as his replacement and could have been handling Drake pre-timeskip (unlike Fujitora).

    • @Patriot009
      @Patriot009 Год назад +29

      I think Sengoku created SWORD with Rosinante being part of it or in some earlier iteration of it. And when Sengoku wanted to resign following the war, he planned to give the reigns to SWORD over to Kuzan. But the Elders wanted Sakazuki to be fleet admiral, and that threw a wrench in the plan. So Kuzan attempts to fight Sakazuki, loses, and then "resigns" from the marines but in reality was transitioning to an undercover SWORD role. Which would mean Sengoku is most likely still in charge of SWORD and his relaxed semi-retired attitude is to disguise that.

    Honestly, I don't see why either Kuzan or Smoker's SWORD membership means the other can't be a member. They're a secret organization within the Marines that opposes the Marines. I have no problem imagining that not every member knows who every other member is, because If one member is uncovered, then them knowing who every other member is would compromise the entire organization all at once. The leader would surely know the identity of every member, but the people below him would likely have very little info on the rest of the organization due to the necessity that comes from being a secret organization that seeks to sabotage the government from within it's ranks. I swear though, it would be hilarious to me if the leader ends up being Kizaru, and that is a very real possibility given just how little we actually know about him. It would be interesting to see more about him, because right now, I think all we know about him is that he's Sentomaru's uncle and he seems like a bit of an idiot that times. But that second part could easily just be him putting on an act, because there's so little info about him, and his personality feels like it clashes with his job even more than Kuzan did when he was Aokiji. I'm just saying he weird and quite possibly the Admiral we know the least about despite being the second one properly introduced to the story.

    • @danielrazo450

      Yes. It could even be a Barroque Works situation, in which the members recieve orders from a superior figure, but they may not even know who the leader is. Sword doesn't need that much communication between members to work out.
      The only dent to this theory is the fact that Coby and Drake seemed to have a lot of communication when their missions didn't seem to overlap that much.

Given that Law became a Shichibukai during the 2 years skip, Garp would also have had access to Law, so could have invited him into Sword.

    I'm of the opinion neither Law nor Kuzan are members of SWORD, and if Law it would have had to be a recent member because of the time frame and power scaling. SWORD is the counterpart to Aegis Zero (Oda crafting Sword and Shield dynamic). The confirmed Leader thus far is X Drake but we don't know if that is the Supreme designation or merely one leadership capacity. Most of the members seem like young and fairly recent marines. This should mean the most powerful member is X Drake. Law never met Sengoku before the end of Dressrosa, and SWORD definitely already existed by then. He'd have to have joined at that moment off screen or sometime after. I do not believe Garp is the founder nor member of SWORD, but aware of the unit given his relationship to Sengoku. Oda has drawn Akainu with a small SWORD tattoo, and Hibari was apparently speaking with a speech pattern similar to Akainu according to translators when they showed us the contingent. It is possible that the founder is Akainu-- with his strict sense of justice and opposition to the WG methods sought to have the Marines own special unit. I believe Akainu established the unit with Sengoku in charge, trusting his expertise and authority. He might've included his daughter in order to toughen her up, judging by the Hiroshima dialect only they use.

Sure, we see him get frozen over by Aokiji, but the first time we meet Aokiji we see both Luffy and Robin get frozen over entirely by him and they’re both alive and well. To top it all off, we also know the name of the move Aokiji used to “kill” Saul: Ice Time Capsule. So I believe Jaguar D. Saul may very well have been “killed” by Aokiji in order to protect him from the other marines and potentially given him a chance to escape Ohara or something, so maybe we will see him again.

    My thinking is that Sword was set up by Garp and Sengoku back when the later was an admiral, for me this is how Garp planned to change the Marines from with in and for Sengoku it was a way to make change with out the WG knowing after seeing what they were truely like.
    I see Dolfys brother as the “first gen” of Sword as he was doing just what Drake has been doing ( someone Sengoku also took on and raised ), this is in part why I think Sengoku was one of the leaders since he knew of this operation.
    I think Garps and Sengokus plan after MF was for Kuzon to become Fleet adirmal and leave him running Sword while they true left the marines but after Kuzon lost they had to rework the plan and that’s why they ending up staying in the “trainer” and inspector” roles with Kuzon sent out to do a Drake while they still lead from with in the marines.
    Coby being a member is also what leads me to think Garp is one of the leaders since he hand picked him. We can also look back and see Garp was depicted as Kuzons mentor figure back 30 years ago.
    An Admiral and Hero of the Marines would have both the respected of the people they chose along with the means and power the pull this off with out higher ups or others knowing about it.

    So I tend to agree with what Tekking often says when it comes to sword, and that is that it was created by either Sengoku, Garp, or both. And while it wouldn't make sense to say it was Sengoku leading it if it was a NEW organization, I think that is where your thinking is flawed. I think sword has been around for longer than you imply here, and that we are just seeing some of it's newer members. We know it was around at least since Drake joined Kaido during the timeskip since it was his mission to infiltrate Kaido's crew, but I think it has maybe even been around SINCE Rossinate was killed. He might have even been one of it's first members, using it as a way to try and take down Doflamingo from the inside. And in that case it makes much more sense for Sengoku to have been at the very least the founder based on what we know about his relationship with Rossinate. So I agree that law may very well be a member or at least an ally of Sword, and maybe Kuzan is just the current leader after Sengoku stepped down as fleet admiral. It would line up timelinewise that after Sengoku stepped down he passed the torch onto Kuzan and that is part of the reason he defected.

    I believe Sengoku found SWORD. He was a fleet admiral. Which meant he knows some info in the world government. Of course, he would have to turn a blind eye. But I think he is a righteous person and formed SWORD to secretly fight ciper pol. He also deals with double agents like Rosinante. Additionally, I believe he should've passed the role of the top of SWORD to Kuzan. I believe they did have a strong relationship too as Sengoku recommended Kuzan to be fleet admiral.

    Well I know this is a stretch but here it goes, I do not think he is a member of the Blackbeard Pirates because when we saw Kuzan with Van Augur, It wrote ' Kuzan & Van Augur of the Blackbeard Pirates ' Now like I saw it as Kuzan only Kuzan and the Blackbeard Pirates member Van Augur, because they could have wrote that way better if they wanted to point out that Kuzan was with the Blackbeard Pirates, like as in BLACKBEARD PİRATES and then the two names, why show one normal and add the other. Again, yes it is a stretch but still, I am not convinced that he is a member. But I know who strongly might be and most of the people are sleeping on it; Gecko moria, because he was at BB's island last time and he had 2 options at that point, Option A) Join them or Option B) He will die and BB will get his Devil Fruit, it could be that Vasco Shot or Avallo has it ( because its not confirmed that they have a Devil Fruit all though Avalo has horns and all could possibly have a Zoan DF )

    Law being a member of sword would make 1 event make sense. If I recall, we never got an explanation as to why law came to marineford. There was absolutely nothing going on there that could be of interest to him. It seems he showed up to only retrieve luffy, which if it wasn't connected to sword, would be a massive coincidence. Keep in mind I'm literally thinking of this now, but garp is probably the leader if law was a member. I'd imagine garp planned for law to use "room" to save ace when he gave the word

    I don’t think either garp nor sengoku are the leader of sword but I do feel like both of them (or at least Garo) joined post war. If Sword’s primary reason of existence are the denial of the celestial dragons and the rejection of Sakazuki as a fleet admiral I think Garp is probably the one character that should be a part of this. He HATES Sakazuki for killing Ace in that way. He himself told Sengoku he would kill him if he had not been held (I think that he was that pissed because of the traumatic way he killed him and not because of the killing itself, since he was kinda ok of Ace dying executed). Garp also rejected countless times the Admiral title just because he didn’t want to follow the orders of the Celestial Dragons, proving he is not the biggest fan of the guys.

    I would pretty much rule out Fujitora, as someone who is so opposed to the Warlord system probably wouldn't be the leader of another "inbetween" system. In that case his anger would seem more like compensatory reaction (I don't know how one formally avoids saying "coping" or "triggered").
    Also he blinded himself to no longer see the misery of the world, why would he also lead an operation to send people deep inside the misery to see everything especially clearly. Any way one thinks of it, he would be a silly character.

    GARP and SENGOKU are the only logical choice for who founded SWORD. Im pretty sure it has to do with aftermath of The GOD Valley incident, they learned the dark secrets of the WG. Then they formed an organization to oppose the WG secretly. Garp former subordinates(Aokiji, Drake and others) then took over mainly because him and sengoku were too old to continue the task. Garp trained coby which was confirmed to be a SWORD member. I suspect Law is also a member of the SWORD because of his connection with Rosinante(subordinate of Sengoku).
    Im not going to be surprised if the Revolutionary army was also affiliated with the SWORD due to their similarity in principles.

  • @hillycool

    I think it’s pretty insane that no-one has suggested that Garp is the head of SWORD
    1. He is still in the marines as a (semi-retired) Vice Admiral even though he hates Sakazuki and the celestial dragons to the point he rejected a promotion as it would mean directly serving the CD. Pretty strange that he still there.
    2. He closely trained Koby and Helmeppo, who just so happen to both be in sword (who else would have put Helmeppo in sword unless they trusted them completely)
    3. Has never said a bad thing about his son or Luffy and even laughs at Luffy’s antics. Plus, he never tries to actively hunt down Luffy, even when commanded to. A man who went toe-to-tope with a Rodger in his prime could of easily taken down Luffy after Enies Lobby if he wanted to.
    4. This could also explain his inaction at Marineford, not stepping in and saving Ace, even though he clearly loved him. Stepping in would have broken his cover and that’s why he was so conflicted, he almost did break after Sakasuki murdered Ace (I’m guessing deep down, he was hoping Luffy was going to pull off the escape).

  • @omnichaos80
    @omnichaos80 Год назад +1

    Honestly, Sengoku leading Sword makes significantly more sense when you factor in him being retired. Before doing so, as Fleet Admiral, Sengoku had mountains of work and was center stage for the entire Marine organization. Now, having stepped down, Sengoku is no longer in the spotlight. Moreover, no longer being the Fleet Admiral, Sengoku has more freedom to move about and, to a certain extent, likely under less surveillance/notice from the Elders. Furthermore, Sengoku has been shown to have experience dealing with infiltration operations with Rosinante. Also, do note that Drake, a confirmed member of Sword, was directly involved with the operation with Rosinante, which Sengoku was leading.
    Even if you want to make the argument that Sengoku founded Sword and that, upon retirement, passed leadership of it over to Kuzan, I would argue it is still very likely Sengoku is running things in Kuzan's absence. Of all the possible Marines that logically could have set up Sword and had the logistical knowledge to run it smoothly under the World Government's radar, Sengoku is the only one that fits that bill. Garp is the antithesis of subtle, X-Drake is too disconnected from the Marines , Fugitora is too new to the organization (and is too much of a troublemaker), and Kuzan honestly doesn't strike me as the type to formulate this sort of plan. Sengoku, on the other hand, is knowledgeable; extraordinarily cunning and strategic, as Marineford showed; is suggested to have a moral sense of justice, but is also willing to push it as needed; and, among all the previous possible candidates, is the one most removed from the Elders' radar for concern. I would be honestly shocked if Sengoku is not the leader (active or former) or founder of Sword. Just makes far too much sense.

    I mean, another possibility: Fujitora and Kuzan are "Co-heads," which is to say they both lead. Each offers unique experiences, and both are in unique situations to go about gathering information. Fujitora is the "acting head," giving out missions and such, while Kuzan pursues the greater goal of keeping a tag on Blackbeard.

    Why isn't Garp in this conversation? He's the only marine we know of that was specifically stated to dislike the celestial dragons, he's got a long history of working with or protecting his "enemies" including fighting side by side with Roger and looking after his son, Roger could've trusted him the secrets of the world the same way he trusted him with the life of his son. Speaking of sons, Garp's son is literally the leader of the revolutionary army, and he raised his grandson on an island frequently visited by a Yonko. He also let his grandson get away after that same grandson destroyed one of the 3 most important institutions in the World Gov, Ennies Lobby. We think he might be loyal to the World Gov because of his actions in the Paramount War, but maybe he couldn't afford to lose his rank and undermine the efforts of Sword. Idk but I think there's a lot more to Garp's story than meets the eye.
