I've been intoxicated by this song, since, I was 6. My entire life, I was always looking for acceptance and to be loved for who I am, not for what I have, looking over my shoulder constantly. I always loved how she took life struggles and lessons, and puts it into her lyrics, cause it's very relatable and she wasn't afraid to be real with her fans, and herself. And THATS what being a true artist is about 💯🙏❤️
I will always admire this incredible jam beautifully infused with Elton John's "Benny and the Jets." Additional: I still get a little freaked out every time I see those fiendish eyes of the paparazzi. Chilling.
And in case anyone doesn’t know this is not just a sample, the great Elton John is actually playing the the keys on this song for Mary. He is playing the hell out the keys, too. Mary, Mary, Mary...we have no choice but to stan.🙌🏾 This Queen has been giving us consistent realness since the very beginning.💯
yes to be very honest at around 1998- onwards my interests changed and I didn't listen to Mary as much (even after being obsessed with her when she first came out), but now I'm able to go back and listen to all the albums I missed out on and I must say "Mary" is one of my tops! it's soooo good! It has this kind of dark vibe to it that I just love! and the covert images are amazing!
@@neutralmultiverse8589 It's impossible that the Mary album didn't get as much credit as it should. To me, it's her best album far from the previous hip hop elements of the first three. That album has no intros, no interludes. Just all singing. People thought that the Mary album didn't exist but Mary proved them wrong.
@@Chavis_Jones I actually just found the give me you dance remix! It is so so so good!!! I don’t know why it didn’t become a bigger anthem! There’s a rare video of her performing and it’s absolute fire!!!
Gi Gi Neither can I. I remember watching this video awhile back and wondering where he was. Because I remember seeing him at the beginning of the video back in the day
True story!! It's amazing to see how many European white artists have respect for what Mary Jane Blige represents. And all that she has accomplished in a career spaning well over 4 decades. 💗👸🏽🙌🏾💂🏾♀️💃🏽🍑⛪🇿🇦
True. I think that there are two videos for this song...because I remember him in the video in a black suit, playing the piano with a white background, while Mary was singing.
Kevin Hanson I don't think Mary had a song called 'Heaven'. Keyshia Cole has a song by that name, though. Mary did a rendition of 'Stairway To Heaven.' In any case, it was not that. I could have swore that I saw him in the video on BET a while back...but I guess not. Thanks.
This woman is a wall of talent. I stop dead in my tracks when I see or hear this fine gal. I've been a classic rock fan since birth. But...music really has no boundaries, does it. This rules.
I grew up with my mom blasting her shit.. She's definitely a legend. And a classic. I would say she's the Queen and R.Kelly is the KING of R&B of our era... 90s
She just Mary, like Michael Jackson was Michael, Janet Jackson is just Janet, Stevie Wonder just Stevie, Aretha Franklin, Whitney Houston nothing but legends reside here.
Mary J. Blige is telling the story of every woman who has been forced into the spotlight, or has achieved a certain level of success. But it's Elton John's sample that makes this song sound so spectacular, coupled with Mary's rough and raw vocals. Deep Inside is; edgy, real, and harmonious. While emphasising on depth that anyone of any race can relate. Side note, I saw the most amazing Elton John mural in Watford, London. 💗👸🏽🙌🏾💂🏾♀️
Man I fucking love these two together!!!! Elton John can play some keys! Just like Stevie wonder. I love Elton. Would love to meet him in real life! Especially after watching rocket man
One of my favorite MJB songs! I was 14 when it came out and use to record everytime the video came on BET! 😂😂😂.. The dance breakdown was and will always be my favorite and most memorable part of the video
I'm such a huge fan of MJB. I wish I could give her a hug and take away the pain and doubt from her failed relationships. Sad that she had to go through that just so we could have this music.
OMG that's how I am you can tell she's a Capricorn we don't have but a few selected friends we don't trust you like that and we want sincerity and we can tell when something not right just Like when looked out at the people she saw them for what they were about I am the same way lol true song. 💯💯💯💯💯😇😇😇😇😇😇💜💜💜💜😍😍😍😍😍😍😍💛💛💛

She maybe the queen of hip hop soul, and perhaps the most critically acclaimed and respected rnb artists around for the past 15 yrs or so... but how any of her videos can be below under a million views on RUclips, is beyond me. To me she is still underrated.
Almighty God Gave Mary The "Strength" to become "humble" throughout every "Storms" in spite of the "Out Cries. And what she decide to do with her "Life" is her and Almighty God's "Business". But she will always be our "Mary"...!

Believe it at not, I just ran upon this track today while listening to Pandora and it was played. I'm old school, Senior and a Stepper but have always loved music... but not everything. This is such truth and many of us have experienced what Mary's talking about (that's if you've lived life and know your Worth), you just want people around you that love You for YOU (not things, or what they can get from you etc.) I too can SEE the evil/demons in some people, she's on point, God reveals, pay attention. I say, sing your song, Mary because there's a little "Mary" in us all. Keep living your best life, All! Dr. O
