Dead dad in the chimney was in Gremlins, it was why Phoebe Cates character hated Christmas because he dad died on Christmas trying to slide down the chimney
My mom's parents were German immigrants. My Mom told me that on Christmas Eve the kids were made to wait in the kitchen while Grandma and Grandpa decorated the tree. Once it was done the kids could come in and open the gifts in their stockings. But they did look for the glass pickle, and whoever found it first got an extra gift, usually just a small piece of candy because my grandparents were poor.
Holland/ Netherlands leave a carot in the schoe for the horse and a poem or drawing for Sinterklaas, than in the morning there would be a chocolate letter usualy the first letter of the name of the shoe owner some " strooigoed " ( special seasonal candy and mini cookies, (pepernoten.) Around and in the shoe, as well as a smal gift. After that in the evening you eat together and open gifts "Sinterklaas" has brought. When grown up to not believe the story anymore you all write your own name on a small paper and put it in a pot. Shake it and pick 1 paper thats the person you write a poem for and buy a gift for. (What is really Dutch there mostly is a set price range, matching your budget you must follow) at some homes ( smaller kids) Sinterklaas comes, kids sit on his lap. he brings his book " he sees everything because of his (friends), and writes it in the book. so if you been naughty or nice that year, the book knows.) comes with his black face friends bringing gifts. its actually celebrated 5th of dec not on christmas on christmas they celebrate you can guess it.... christmas. 😘
BTW, wow, it is not Jack and Jill who were lost in the forest. Jack and Jill went up the hill to fetch a pail of water from the well. Hansel and Gretel were taken into the woods by their parents and left there and they came upon a house with a witch who thought they looked good for stew. Get your stories straight so we don't lose any more respect for the researchers
We have had real Christmas trees for 20ish of my life and have never found any bugs… also who the hell is stupid enough to let their tree run out of water for days 🤦♀️
I'm from Belgium and Sinterklaus is something that happend on 11 November, not during Christmas,he gives out candy, fruits, cookies, chocolate and gifts and his birthday is on 5 December, some ppl celebrate it but i don't 🤷
The stories of the husband coming down the chimney as Santa to surprise his family actually reminds me of the Modern Family episode where Dylan plans to come down the chimney as Santa to enlighten the boys Joe and Cal. The two husbands unfortunately died after getting stuck in their chimneys, while Dylan (who got stuck in the Dunphy chimney) fortunately was able to get out of the chimney, with a little help with Jay’s elbow cream!
Allright Lindsey!! I love minced meat pie. It is sweet and made with raisins and some other berries. My grandmother actually canned several jars of it and we had it as a dessert for awhile. It was made with venison. Very yummy. Not your typical chicken pot pie. I'm only 57 :?
we do the glass pickle thing on Christmas morning, normally the extra gift is a bottle of Martinelli's sparkling cider. It's not a long standing tradition threw generations for us, just a fun thing we started when me and my siblings were kids.
There's also Krampus, that terrifying creature half goat half demon that also punishes naughty children. That legend was popular in Austria, Czech republic and Hungary, amongst others.
My family does this pickle tradition except the first person who finds the pickle gets to open their gift first. We used to do the extra gift thing but now it's just that. We do it at my grandma's house and we go there on Christmas Eve. This year my grandma forgot to put the pickle in the tree so we played black jack in replacement.
One I think she is trying to refer to is not jack and jill but Hansel and Gretel. I think that one comes from Germany. The children were taken to the woods by their parents and left because they couldn't afford to feed them. They found their way back. On one occasion they came upon a small house and it belonged to an old woman believed to be a witch. She caged them and was planning on cooking them to eat when they outsmarted her and escaped by pushing her into her own oven.
So I worked in a gentleman's club as a bartender for years and one year before Thanksgiving a man came into the bar in full Santa costume since Thanksgiving was still yet to happen this set off warning signals in my brain fortunately this was a false alarm and nothing nefarious happened but still very strange!!
The Dutch Sinterklaas is not Santa. We have a Santa that we call "Kerstman". They're two diffrent characters. (Though they do look and act alike.) Sinterklaas is not around during Christmas but rather early December. The Kerstman is of course here during Christmas.
Glass pickle? I'm German and never heard of pickles in a Christmas tree. The first time I heard about it when I moved to US, Then I asked all my family in Germany if they have ever heard of it, no one did. This is not a German tradition.
The several men who dressed as Santa to massacre there families should be in this list , one guy dressed as Santa complete with 5 guns hundreds of rounds of ammunition and a home made fire thrower killed 13 people who attended a Christmas Eve party at his ex wife's parents house children, men and women! Thankfully he was an idol and ended up getting caught in the flames and severely burned so his Santa costume was melted to his skin and he ultimately killed himself
to the future people in 2022 I know 2022 is gonna end people still use orange in their words and cars still are in the ground and we still believe that orange is orange because the color orange is like orange and the stuff still exist for the people that is about five years away and watching this
Thank you
Jack and Jill? Did you perhaps mean Hansel and Gretel?

@@sweetassugar97 Unfortunately, no. Neither my Mom nor her siblings carried on that tradition. But I do have a German glass pickle on my tree.

Hansel and Gretel
Yo you guys choose your words carefully. I understood the context, but saying Santa shouldn’t help murder victims was a bit much. Lol
Love:ur early and don't know what to say✋
*Lindsay Evans Is The Most Beautiful Girl Ever*
Hansel & Gretel met the witch not Jack & Jill meeting the butcher..🙄SMH

19:18 but why you have to make it sound so weird?
And they wonder why some kids are terrified of Santa. 😁
Moving on at number 9🤣
Damn Olivia. Thank you😛😛
She didn’t mention krampus. That’s a great holiday character. It has two movies 😂

Dude this Santa's are so creepy so disturbing 😳👽
You look pretty.
Dutch Sinterklaas is 5 december or 6 dec.
It's a different thing.
We celebrate Christmass on 25/26 december.
So this channel allows scammers to post here...hmmm...great job top 10.
Fake Christmas trees are safe
That's no Alien Santa, it's just John Malkovich
There's also Krampus, that terrifying creature half goat half demon that also punishes naughty children. That legend was popular in Austria, Czech republic and Hungary, amongst others.
Merry! christmas!
Have a nice New year

I can sympathize with the Jack Nicholson Santa Claus almost all pictures of me I look like my eyes are either closed or creepily open
My schnauzer Bruce talks to me everyday he says roo roooo roooooo lol
I'm confused about some stories from Germany I've never heard of as a German. 🤔😂

Ahhhhh
That Santa looks like Gacy
Why would you want to eat a poinsettia..... you know they actually came from Mexico

I love the dress she is wearing!… so pretty on her!! Well she is so beautiful so she could probably make a trash bag look attractive!!.

My grandfather is French- Canadian and I remember my great grandparents telling us the Santa "detective " ... freaked us out
I thought Lindsay quit MA.
@brendamilstead4668. She did. It must be an old video.
