- In this video we have discussed about the Citric Acid Cycle.
The citric acid cycle also known as the tricarboxylic acid (TCA) cycle or the Krebs cycle. It includes a series of chemical reactions used by all aerobic organisms to release stored energy through the oxidation of acetyl-CoA derived from carbohydrates, fats, and proteins into carbon dioxide and chemical energy in the form of adenosine triphosphate (ATP).
The sole purpose of this cycle is to provide electrons to the electron transport chain when it reduces NAD and FADH to NADH and FADH2 respectively in the reactions. These are called electron carriers.

Merry Christmas 🎄
@@hussainbiology bro honestly your teaching is paramount and i honestly love it and your whole well being.👍👍
@@robertmarks6525 Really Glad to know that..❤️
super ,sir please say slowly and make lengthy detailed video.
O
i think kreb cycle is start from acetyl coa, so the kreb cycle final amount of electron carrier should only 3 nadh and 1 fadh2.
You're right, 3NADH are produced. TCA cycle starts from acetyl COA
Sir, are you from Kashmir? Your accent indicates so.
Yes i am Kashmiri and so is the accent ✌️
Thanku sir
You are welcome
Sir 1 NADH2 equal 3 ATP
1NADH= 3c so 4NADH=12c compound
Hi Deepak, that is lower level concept where most of the text books denotes 1 NADH gives 3 ATPs in oxidative phosphorylation but it actually is not.
Plz watch the video below from 9: 38 sec and u will know why 1NADH yields 2.5 ATP.
