My first car was a 1967 Dodge Dart, which was very similar to its Valiant cousin. That car had a 225 Slant six and a torqueflite. I used to drive that car through the night by myself, from Richmond, VA to Terre Haute, IN where I went to school. That car never left me sitting anywhere.

I've had a love for Valiants my whole life. I used to play in my grandpa's '64 wagon that sat on blocks, and my first car was a '68 2 door sedan. They weren't very popular when I bought mine in 2001, but people always stopped me to ask about it, sometimes starting off with "I like your Dart!"
I miss my Valiant, and the reliable 225 Slant Six. No matter where I went, the car never let me down.

Love your 68 Valiant, and my big block 68 also. If mine could talk would be all about drag racing starting in 1975 and still getting it done!

I absolutely love that gorgeous 68 Valiant 2 dr sedan !!! I have a 67 Valiant 2 dr sedan and a 68 Dart 2 dr sedan Sport Special Model. Used to be a hard top man but these days just love the sedans!! Bet when he gets a lot more tire under it . That Valiant will easily be a low 12’s high 11’s car with suspension tuning track time. I am in Northern California.

The trunk was flat with the bumper, You could sit in it and drink beer. However, if trunk was open while driving, everything would fall out! mine as a 225 slant 6. 30+ mpg, idled @ 600 rpm.

@@IfThisCarCouldTalk I ...... actually have a story about how my classic car helped save my life. Literally. I was heavily into muscle cars in high school and was quite known for that. Ended up getting married at 18, had to sell my car. Promise myself that someday I would get another one. Things took a bad turn when I turn 23, my wife ended up getting cancer and I fell heavily into addiction for almost 2 decades. One of my counselors suggested that I set goals. Get back into cars. Deal was I ever got a muscle car again I could never touch anything that led to my addiction again. 12 years ago I ended up getting my 65 coronet and have held my promise ever sense. My life of sobriety is wonderful however it does take work but having my car it was a big step I still have it and I’ve done many upgrades. I love your channel and will continue watching it. Keep up the great content!! Thank you

Wow...your story brought tears to my eyes. Wonderful positive lift up! I'm so glad things are much better for you now. I'm not sure where you're located but maybe we could figure out a way to do a feature with you and your car and the story you have together? It really means a lot to receive a compliment like yours because the human/car "story" is what we try to focus on. As an example - if you haven't seen the International Scout video - you'll love their story of inspiration. Thanks again!
