  • Yesterday I killed this washing machine,
and today I destroyed it completely.
All the shots have been fired using the same concrete projectile..
Projectile was shortened every time. But there is still fully usable.

Any ideas of what we shoot next?

Valve and hose to the barrel are way too small. Need a much larger fast free flowing valve for high velocity on low weight projectiles. I use a 2 inch piston valve on mine. Got a spud to 880 FPS velocity on 100 PSI air.

What hose are you referring to?
The valve is directly at the end of the pressure tank.
The valve is of the piston type. When the valve opens, there is no gap of less than 50mm in diameter between the tank and the barrel, the barrel is 63mm.
I have measured the speed of a tennis ball 178M / s (584 feet per second).
How big is the barrel in your own cannon? Videos?

@@AnttiHara I had to re-watch the video. Lack of depth perception at the 1:35 mark gave the illusion you were using the blue hose.. LOL.. I'm on the other side of the pond so I'm using English units, so some conversion is required. The audio tipped me off that air was hissing through a restriction after launch, indicating a small orifice or in the case of a piloted piston valve, the valve fails to open fully as tank pressure is lost. I'll give you a link to my videos to view, which even shows a model of the design in use and an explanation of it's operation. The ID of my valve is 2 inch diameter. Various diameter barrels then can be interchanged from golf ball thin 1.7 inch to 4 inch. Please note the sound a fully open piston valve makes when discharged. Ours were built for a completion to launch t shirts. At the end of this video, you can see me with my prototype. The school had to build their own. ruclips.net/video/9Klxqav_6NM/видео.html Note the different sound and air flow after the shot. We were limited to 100PSI air or Nitrogen. The shot in the stadium is at about 35 PSI. We over engineered and reduced pressure. My instruction video is here. ruclips.net/video/No3nI07mlQo/видео.html This describes and shows the air path. This next video shows an orange launched into an expanded metal screen. ruclips.net/video/LOQrXpK5AT4/видео.html Sorry about the video quality. It was a one day loan of a high speed camera. Shot at 1,000 frames per second. White marks are 1 foot apart. Sorry not metric. This next is my cannon with the 3 inch barrel. The gatoraid landed on the track in front of the 2 story brown press building for the field see behind the field lights. That shot was 100PSI. 7kg/cm2 Again note the sound. ruclips.net/video/XsSTxCP8rvY/видео.html No hissing after the shot. It is a full fast dump.

    Range ja tarkkuus testejä? :)

Ranget vaatii kiusallisen paljon tilaa =D, tarkkuutta toki voisi.. Olis toisaalta villi kyllä ampua vaikka kilon painoinen betonimurkula lähes suoraan ylös ja katsoa miten täsähtää tonttiin..
