    You have a lot of stuff on there. I’m amazed at how you pedal,hook a fish and net it all at the same time. Thanks for sharing. 👍👍👍🎣

    Thanks for the video and the discount code. Every penny counts nowadays, setting kayaks up to troll is pricey but, it is a boat right, everything marine is expensive.

    Because of you I just bought the salty pdl 120 and I like it. Now for my question does the Berley Pro Side Bro interfere with you peddling. I'm 6' with a size 10 shoe

    I'm getting ready to spend the money to setup like, you the "Pro" does! Best to use all your equipment in your setup! Also, I am looking at purchasing an oldtown PDL Kayak and wondering which model you recommend?

      @spiltmilt  5 месяцев назад

      I fish the Old Town Salty 120 PDL but which is best for you will depend on a variety of factors.

    I am 72 years old and selling my old ski boat. Hoping to purchase a Native Titan X next Spring. I know it's huge, but planning to trailer it. My plan is to initially pedal and hope to do some kokanee fishing. Wallowa Lake, and Dworshak initially. The question for you is if I were to get a motor would you recommend a stern mount NK180 Pro type or bow-mounted motor for trolling kokanee and trout fishing?

    • @spiltmilt
      @spiltmilt  2 месяца назад

      A bow mount is going to give you a lot more options as there are several models that GPS enabled which will give you the ability to control you trolling speed precisely and also to spot lock if you want to try Kokanee jigging. However, those motors are more expensive, time consuming to install, and harder to deploy and stow. Stern mount motors are cheaper and easier to raise and lower and can get you close enough to the troll speed to be effective.

    Looks great! Have you tried the Yak Attack battery box/finder mount? Keeps from having to undo the transducer and power cables. Attaches to Gear Track as well. :D

      I don't like cluttering up the kayak rails with that. Having it wired inside keeps everything out of the way and nice and dry

    What is your opinion of power in current/wind between prop and mirage-type pedal drives? I still haven't bought my kayak, life came up and had expenses I wasn't planning on. Still intend to get the Lightning Nomad and rig it over the Winter. Not what I wanted but Murphy can be a real jerk. lol
    One thing I definitely like about the Lightning Vs Old Town is a LARGE dedicated transducer pocket in the hull.

    • @spiltmilt
      @spiltmilt  6 месяцев назад +1

      It has a lot more to do with hull shape than your pedal drive I think.

    since you use snap weights with kokanees, what do you use the downrigger for? It’s the one thing I’m not sure I need.
