    I have a 2021 f150 platinum. I have owned 20+ vehicles and I have never had as many issues like the 2021! 🤬
    My a/c was doing the same thing. And it would flip sides one side cooled and the other didn’t. It happened while getting my first service. The “dealer” blamed it on the cabin air filter. Wtf?! That’s not the issue.
    My screen also goes out. The “dealer” saw it and blamed it on my phone. I have an iPhone 12! 🤬
    My fat left a/c vent and my fat right a/c vent both broke a week apart. “Dealer” said it can’t replace it because it’s not mechanical 🤬
    When I fuel up, the distance to empty or fuel range varies from 320miles to empty / 530 miles to empty!! “Dealer” said that’s regular depending on how the vehicle is driven! Bullshit! 🤬 200+miles is a huge difference! I have a bunch of other issues and more problems keep popping up. The “dealer” replaced the a-pin numerous times and then said the radio needed ford updates. My truck sat over 90 days at the dealer in 2021
    I made a case with Ford, I ordered a new 22 f150 back in December 2021. It’s been 7 months. Still no build date! 🤬
    Out of all my vehicles, this one has been the worse, and bad dealer service and communication with solving real issues that they passed the blame onto something else instead of listening to the customer that the truck is the issue. Oh! They blamed me for not replacing the caving air filter and that’s why the ac has problems. It’s been changed twice under 25k miles. And my a/c is starting to smell like a wet dog. Again. “Dealer” said they will look into it. Truck has been sitting there since Tuesday and they can’t look at it until this Friday. 🤬
    Now no other dealer will look at my truck because there is an open ford case on it. 🤦🏻‍♂️🤬. So I’m stuck using the dealer that I’m super unsatisfied with until I can get a new truck. 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬
    The 2021 has been a nightmare and I see I’m not the only one with similar issues.
    Other issues, back seats were coming unstitched, dealer wouldn’t fix so I found a nice seat shop that fixed it for free!!
    4 recalls and they don’t know if they have the parts to fix. Front Passenger door has to be slammed to close correctly. Dealer said my passengers are closing it improperly. 🤬🤬 Back driver side door doesn’t open properly. They checked it 3 times and still not resolved.
    When radio was first having issues, “dealer” technician wrote on service paper, “customer needs to read owner manual” cause they said it was user error🤬🤬🤬.
    CarPlay still has plenty issues, maps don’t work. Screen doesn’t come on, navigation doesn’t work, Bluetooth doesn’t work properly. All these extra SAFETY OPTIONS DONT WORK PROPERLY!!!
    Sorry! For anyone looking to buy… stay away from the 21’s! Especially used 21’s! They will have plenty issues.

      Thank you!! I was literally just looking at a used 2021 XLT Sport with under 8,000 miles. Good price too. Then some red flags. Owner had it brand new for 10 months. Two recalls (not fixed), plus two other issues that are called "courtesy notifications" for issues (like tailgate automatically opening).
      That's enough to scare me away (sadly). I miss having a F150, but too many warning signs.

      @@nocarbsnation tailgate automatically opening? Wow! That’s a new one!! Lol! I’m still having issues with my truck. I ordered a new 2022 in December of 2021. We’re going into the 3rd quarter of the year and it still hasn’t been built! 😡 if they offer me a 2023 I’ll take it, I’m not taking one that’s a year old when I bought mine at the beginning of 21.

      @@o713 I ordered an '22 F250 end of Nov '21 and it's scheduled for production end of Oct '22 assuming no more delays, lmao. So basically 1 year, or more for an order. Needless to say, I bought a '22 off a lot earlier this year and paid $750 to ship it halfway across the country because I was able to get it for MSRP, which in this market is tough to do. It's nuts that I saved thousands by ordering 1,500 miles away because I couldn't get it anywhere in the northeast US without price gouging.

      That totally sucks we have a 21 Lariat powerboost and when we were driving on the freeway when the gauge cluster suddenly turned off and wouldn’t turn back on so we had to pull over and turn the truck off and on back again and when it did turn on everything was reset .This issue has happened 3 times and yes we also have the CarPlay issue and lastly the issue were it switches from electric to gas is annoying how the entire truck shakes.

    • @Longsnowsm
      @Longsnowsm Год назад

      It used to be true. The old model of introducing a new model or make over, then over the course of roughly 5ish years they would iron out the issues and then start it all over again. But we are seeing now that the manufacturers are making large changes year to year now. Parts are changing, supply chain issues, and very significant software changes have become the ghost in the machine. So the old adage you should just wait a few years doesn't really work like it used to. We are seeing it right now that the dealers can't do recalls for specific model years of the same truck run because the software changed and they don't yet have a fix for it. The reliance on software and so much tech that is clearly not tested and ironed out is a problem, and worse yet if it is this hard to maintain when the vehicles are new you can forget these things being supported in 5 or 10 years from now. Your vehicle will become like a Google phone that once they stop the updates you have to get a new phone. Think that sounds far fetched? Just wait. Much of the new co-pilot and auto drive stuff all requires online connectivity and constant updates. People are so enamored with the tech toys they don't think about the long term ramifications. I guess if you are constantly in a new vehicle and willing to stay on the little wheel in a cage then it is all fine. Anyone who keeps vehicles and later needs any sort of support, parts etc is in for a real treat. They can't support this stuff now while it is new.

We're loving the truck, it now has 28,500 kms on it and have not had one single issue with it. It's been back for a couple recalls, the most recent one was to replace the windshield wiper motor. They dealership did it while it was in gettting a free oil change and they gave me a courtesy car to use. Any recall I've had is minor stuff and it's painless. I just checked the fuel mileage meter and I'm currently getting 9.5L/100 kms (29.7 Imp mpg). The truck is the best of both worlds; you can drive it like you stole it or hypermile with it. I have a GMC Sierra that has had these types of problems. Not often, but there have been some like the hot air coming out of one side and not the other. The most significant problem was the electronic parking break NOT releasing which is a show stopper since there is no mechanical release or any other way to release the brakes. I have found that the truck is a lot like my home computer such that I have to reboot occasionally. Sometimes I have to pull the plug for a full reboot and the truck is like this --- the battery has to be disconnected and reconnected to clear a problem. I now carry a small ratchet in the truck that fits the battery cable connection. So far this has always cleared a screwy electronic problem and I have to do this just two or three times a year.

    Wow, hope you get it all sorted out. I have a Limited Powerboost and I love it. I had a dead gas pedal issue where the engine would go to sleep for 2 or 3 seconds when operating at low speeds like turning at an intersection or turning out into traffic which scared me to death. They have since sorted that issue. Now my auto crash sensor goes off when there's no cars directly in front of me. These are my only issues thus far. I'm warrantied up for 120k miles so not too worried, but if this truck doesn't last me, I'd consider leaving the brand. The new Tundra lacks mostly all of the feel good features and attention to detail of the Ford at these trim levels, but I think that's where I'll head next. I left GM for good over problems with my Sierra.

    What a bummer, I got my Lariat Powerboost right around the time you got yours (13k Miles on mine). Live in Northern MN in the freezing cold and for the most part mine has been flawless. The only time I have issues is when Ice and snow build up on the sensors but once it gets warmed up in the garage it goes back to normal. Carplay issues are the same on mine. It amazes me that Apple and Google play are not very dependable but I have just learned to always plug the phone in and forget it. But I am frustrated because it struggles to connect to the truck wifi while using carplay.

    Thanks for the video, I have the same truck and now have 72k miles on it, yes I drive a lot. I have the exact same problems you had on your truck. The dealer told me it was a sensor that caused the heating/cooling fault. It’s been fine since they replaced it, however, they are now telling me I have to pay $2300 to replace the entire exhaust system as it has created something to overheat? No idea yet, but still investigating it. It’s not covered under my extended warranty as Ford is calling “maintenance” and it also does not involve any electrical components. Now Today I received a new fault code “Power Reduced to Lower Engine Temperature” and the gauge is stating that the temp is normal, It’s in limp mode now. The fun never stops. Lastly, for anyone who lives in cold weather climates, the dealer informed me that if you wash the powerboost F150 in temperatures less than 32 degrees, you run the risk of the sensors breaking and they will not cover it under warranty! The dealer just told me that’s the price you pay to have the hybrid power boost. The gas mileage is great, but with these issues, it's time to find another vehicle.

Ford has agreed to replace my truck with a 2022 truck as two (2) APIM replacements have failed to correct my issues. They are to contact me next week with the formal details. Just curious if you ever tried hooking up a trailer to your truck? That's the thing that would really trigger my electrical failures. Hi Frank. How difficult was it to get them to replace your truck? I have had mine a few months and have multiple mechanical troubles with less than 8k miles. She's currently in the shop :( I bought her brand spanking new and have tranny issues, light shuddering when lightly accelerating uphill, 4x4 doesn't work, all drive modes disabled, and a horrible grinding noise coming from the engine block. I LOVE this truck! We have 2 that are near identical (his has the extra towing capacity, and we bought them at the same time) and there are ZERO issues with his, so I would assume it's just the bad one off the line. Which we all know does happen. The thing is... I didn't pay all that money for a brand new truck to be failing and rebuilt- I mean, wouldn't that impact the value of the vehicle overall?

    • @frankwalker1075
      @frankwalker1075 2 года назад

      @@kimfb1443 Hello Kim,
      Wow, your truck sounds way worse than mine!
      The first thing you need to do is take a look at the Lemon Law for your state. If you qualify for replacement under the rules your state has in place, you would then contact Ford and tell them your intention to get a refund or a replacement vehicle under Lemon Law rules. I turned down my initial Ford offer I received on December 23, 2021 that was to to give me back all my money minus mileage. I am leasing and I opted instead for them to make me a new identical (2022) truck with NO changes to my original lease agreement. The only change they can make is to change the VIN number when the new truck is built. Ford is saying that the new truck most likely will be built sometime in February and I'm ok with waiting that long as I mainly need the truck for the boating season. Save all your paperwork and document EVERYTHING relating to your truck problems. Of course, the pandemic and the chip shortage is increasing the wait time for everything so don't expect a quick fix. Good luck!!

      @kimfb1443 2 года назад

      @@frankwalker1075 Update: I just spoke to the Ford dealership (they are so kind). There are multiple issues.
      Firstly, the integrated wheel end on the front passenger side is failing which is why the 4x4 will not engage. Unfortunately, because the truck is so new, the parts are on back order indefinitely. They have sent a request to "Big Ford" engineers, as I like to call them, to request the parts directly from the line. Pending a response on that.
      Secondly, they were able to recreate the crazy noise and decided that it is something with the transmission and/or some front -end pump as the sound emanates from the center of the engine/tranny linkage area. Here's the kicker... they don't have a transmission tech right now due to the staffing issues seen across the country *cough* letsgobrandon *cough*. I talked with "Big Ford" about this and they are checking my area for a dealership that is capable of dropping the motor and trans in order to do a full diag on this issue. Kicker #2... The dealership it is currently at cannot transport it to wherever it will need to go. And I cannot drive it there either. Sooooo... we shall see.
      I am not upset, I know there are going to be issues with some ratio of vehicles coming off the line. It happens. Ford has always taken care of me and I understand that while it may be a pain to deal with ESPECIALLY this year - it's not intentional, negligent, or malicious. It just is.
      I'll try to get the video of the sound uploaded.
      *FYI* Ford just issued a recall for the underbody insulation issue - the one where it sags a bit and touches the shaft making a ticking noise.

      @@kimfb1443 Hey Kim,
      I don't know what state you are in, but I would pursue the Lemon Law thing with all the problems you are having. In Michigan, the Lemon Law can be used if your vehicle is in the shop for more than thirty (30) days or the dealer has had four (4) tries at fixing the same defect with no luck. My truck hit on both criteria and also had two (2) complete APIM (computer) replacements that failed to fix my electrical problems. Like you, I also bought two new Ford vehicles in 2021 and only one is having major problems. Ford knows I am a loyal customer and they referred me to the Ford RAV (Re Acquired Vehicle) program almost immediately after reviewing my case and I think reviewing my past buying history. I can drive my truck for now as long as I don't attach a trailer to it and I can wait for them to build me a new truck later this winter. You might want to look into the Lemon Law option as your dealer is on record as saying that they cannot fix your issues due to staffing issues and parts shortages You also should look at the NHTSA website as your problems definitely sound safety related to me. Good luck with everything!

In the end I ordered the 3.5 Ecoboost as the Powerboost adds a lot of complexity and I didn't want to be the first year guinea pig. I have questioned my decision many times, but following your issues makes me feel like I made the right decision at this point in time. I have had a few small quality issues: wind noise from rear view mirrors, rear bench seat not sitting flush between driver and passenger side, grinding noise from steering wheel in cold weather, and front driver tire rubbing inner fender well at fully lock when reversing. My dealer has been great about working through these issues. I am happy that none of them are powertrain issues or electrical issues.

During the failure, the system went crazy with warnings for almost every thing but only 2 recorded on fordpass. Now have trans leak so my truck has been parked for over a month now. If wasnt for the issues, I would love this truck.

    • @miked5220
      @miked5220 2 года назад

      @@justinl8455 Honestly, I have my concern they won't. It is going in for a third time on 1/20. Last time, they had it for 5 days around Christmas and admited it's leaking but said, I shit you not, that "it's really hard to see in that area" so they couldn't verify the issue. Since they couldn't verify it's a warranty issue, they tried to charge me $125 diagnostic fee. The first time in, at different dealer, they said no leaks until I showed up and pointed to the drip and fluid under it, they were too backlogged to reevaluate it since they completed my appointment in their eyes. It is ironic that I have been sent home driving it with no fix but I have been warned by the service advisor that if there is damage from me driving it with low fluid, that it possibly wouldn't be warrantied since I drove it knowing it is leaking. The stupidity of it is almost funny but sad. Ford customer relations is useless.

    I have a 2018 base xlt and driven it 30k miles now. My wife and I have driven two trips out west from our state Ohio two consecutive years. With the last time being with the pandemic in full bloom. It was enjoyable and as my wife said it was comfortable. Seats in my screw are good for long trips. I guess I’m saying that I hate you have so many things making your experience a miserable one. But at least you have options. I have had some local dealers wanting me to sell them my truck with a notable profit for myself. I have considered it but I don’t think it would be wise with all the uncertainty of chips and quality issues at this time. And my wife told me she likes the truck and won’t let me Lol. I guess you’ll figure out a solution that would be suitable to you and I hope you get the truck you can be happy with. Good luck!

    🙌🏼 OMGosh… I’m so thankful to find this video!!! ⚠️ Short version: SCREW FORD, 🚫DO NOT BUY A FORD VEHICLE AS THEY DO NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCT!!!
    I have your same issues and WAY more, including the firewall falling off @ 4500 miles and they couldn’t replace for 5 months. In March 2021 I bought the 🤬 2021 Lariat Powerboost with 7.5 generator and it the BIGGEST FKN REGRET of any vehicle I’ve ever owned (out of like 30)‼️ Completely loaded with every extra I could get (over $75k plus additional $5900 for a hard tonneau cover, 8 ply tires, High Country nerf bars for steps & ceramic tint on the windows). Recall on windshield as it “pops out” as the seals are bad. Ford wont pay for the ceramic to be put back on.
    I purchased this as I moved across country out West to a remote area almost 2 hours from the nearest city/stores and 15 miles on a dirt road into the National Forrest. I needed to ENSURE I had a dependable vehicle that I wouldn’t have to worry about breaking on me so far away from a repair shop and as a single lady I wanted an extra layer of safety. Not what I got at all. And so mad with myself as I traded in my Chevy truck & my Tahoe 😢(miss them for sure) on this TOTAL PIECE OF S*!T‼️
    Sorry for your issues but glad I’m not the only one‼️
    The list is so long on issues with this vehicle that I’m dumbfounded. Short in the Drivers window and the wouldn’t roll up and stay up. 3 feet of snow and below zero weather and NO HEAT 1/2 the time in the winter and summer the AC wouldn’t work properly. Going down the road the screen/ dash goes out while driving. It puts itself in AUTO park randomly. The transmission sounds awful like it has rocks in it intermittently (which I have on video) The fuel range will show I only have around 300 miles when I have just filled up. Radio wont play/ Apple Car play wont recognize my phone on wireless, so I plug it in and it wont recognize I have it plugged in OR charge my phone. The shifter gets stuck some times in Park and wont go into drive AT ALL. I have had to walk home several times while either at the post boxes 4 miles away or on the other 30+ acres from my land as It wouldn’t go into gear. The sensors on the bumpers are intermittent as well, and God forbid they get dusty or muddy because they set off the alarm driving down the road, and it will slam the brakes on…. OR they dont sense when I am close to something to alert me. The rear camera picture turned white like it was smoked ( 5 weeks backordered). Windshield wiper motor inoperable.
    My first accident EVER, it didn’t alert me I was close to the cement barrier and I bumped it by the headlamp.. 7 months later it is still in the shop as parts are impossible to get. (PS. A headlamp alone is $1850, not including installation). Insurance only paid for 30 days of rental and I have been 6 months without a vehicle!!! The nearest neighbor (who me I dont know) is over a mile away and my nearest family is 1800 miles from me.
    SO AWFUL.
    I believe as of now there are, what, 15 plus recalls on this truck…. and that doesn’t address these other issues we speak on here!! There are way more issues than mentioned or recalled.
    I called FORD Corporate and opened a case and they are “too bad, good luck”.
    Let me add, I am an Iraq OIF/OEF Veteran, in which I was injured while deployed and medically retired after a a year in the hospital due to my injuries. I moved to the country to help with PTSD and to have peace and FORD has made this a living nightmare for me for 2 years now!!!!!!!!‼️‼️
    Sorry for being lengthy, and venting, but the above is a true story.

    So, I bought a 2021 Powerboost around Oct 21, and its now May 7th, 22. I have about 8800 miles on it and today, I went to open it up to grab my sunglasses and I was going to drive my Jeep. The weird thing is it didn’t recognize my fob like always. I had to use the manual key to get into it, it was totally lit up with warnings (emergency brake service) in red, I hit ok, and their were many other things lit up. I tried to start it, it just kept throwing up random warning lights. Then the brake was pulsating when i put my foot on it to try to start it and then it was done, as in, completely dead. I cant even get in the back of my truck to get to my tools because i have a back flip on it so its locked tight. I managed to get the battery cables off and then reinstalled, nothing has changed. It’s like it doesn’t even have a battery in it. My head lights are set for auto (never have changed that and dont see a reason to do so). It stays locked in my carport. We have 5 vehicles but this was going to be our long trip vehicle, now I’m nervous as to the reliability of it and watching your channel as well. Dealership will have to drag it out of the carport monday and have no clue what it could be. Never acted like a battery running low, looked more like a computer glitch issue. Thoughts?

    I have a 2022 Ford F-150 Platinum Powerboost and it has been nothing but a heap of problems. Sunroof had to be replaced twice because of leaks, rear passenger window broke and was stuck down, and now I have a bunch of strange electronic issues. Stereo popped super loud one day at full blast and a bunch of crackling. Trailer brake system fault light keeps coming on. The gas tank open light comes on and off randomly. The notification that child could be left in the back seat is turned on, but I receive continuous notifications to turn it on. My headlights switch turns on or off when exiting the truck for no reason so I can’t place it on one setting. The other day the temperature change control would change the air flow from your face to your feet and the button to push to control that setting would not work. It’s like every day something new happens strange with the truck. I have no clue what is going on and of course you take it to the dealer and they cannot duplicate the issue. Modern a/C systems on auto usually adjust the temp automatically base on GPS info and sun position. Ie, it should be cooler on the side facing the sun. Turn off auto if you don't want it that way. This shouldn't cause the heat issue though.

    My 2021 F150 Powerboost HVAC issues as well. Not as bad, but the recirculate area will not stay ON unless I'm in Max Cool. As soon as I turn the dial to make the air warmer, the Recirculate turns off, and I get the outside air. It might not be a big deal, but I live in the City, and my truck fills up with Exhaust from the other vehicles on the road. Ford said the "HVAC was working as designed." I'm very disappointed with this "feature." I'm sure it's a programming issue, but I want to control my Cabin Air Quality and NOT be overridden by the computer. Keep up the good videos, and I hope you can resolve your issues soon! If anyone has any suggestions to recirculate issues, please let me know! Merry Christmas!

    Nothing wrong with wanting the bells and whistles and expecting them to work. It's why I buy a Platinum. It's a truck, but it's my family luxury vehicle. I don't off road, haul, or tow anything. I also agree that you should document document document everything. I plan on the bells and whistles failing so I prepay the bill by getting the extended warranty. I'm betting I'll use it and come out ahead.

    Wonder if your screen that’s running hot. Your thermal shows the screen is 91 degrees. Could the air duct be running behind the screen and getting heated right before it comes out. Maybe the screen isn’t cooling correctly or there’s no insulative barrier between the screen and your ducting? Or the blend door module doing to that side is getting stuck intermittently causing it to not blend air correctly causing hot air some times on one side
