It seems like enough whale calves are being killed by orcas every year that between human beings and orcas, together we will make most large whale species extinct in the next 40 years. I think your assessment that large whales will be extinct in about 40 years is a tad pessimistic. Contrary to common lore, whales are not endangered. Only a few species of whale are at risk. The grew whale featured in this item, is not at risk at all. They are hunted by eskimo's without any risk for the species. About 1/3 of calves fall prey to predation, there is no reason to fear for extinction as a result of that. Most animals lose a far higher percentage of offspring. Orca's and grey whales are animals, human traits are seldom found in animals. The hunting game is an intelligent way of hunting, but it remains just a hunt.
