Thanks for posting your proof-for-insurance video, because, even though my childhood ended before yours began, I enjoy looking back at the older sets more than the over-saturated new set reviews. My Favorite Set in the Video was the Space Probe Launcher from 1981, which I had (and loved) as a kid. Pump this nostalgia directly into my veins. Thanks, Josh!
Anytime Josh mentioned "before I was born" I started to think "dang, I could be this guy's father" - and if he was it would have been my mother's fault as she sold my LEGOs when I was twelve and that's about when I took an interest in the fairer sex.
I love the classic sets, especially space and town. Well to be honest I did also go down the Legoland hole so I started collection and building the sets from 600 and up.
Hey Josh! It was great meeting you and Shy at Brickworld Chicago! And thanks for the little clip you shared in this video, you can see my wife and I when we were hanging at your table! Looks like you got some great vintage sets. I remember getting Astro Dasher brand new at Kmart back in 1985 or 1986. I still have it, although my blue spaceman is missing his helmet and the coloring on his chest has faded. Great little set! And keep up the fun videos! Always fun to watch!
You are a little child. So am I when I reexperience these old bricks. This was a different and better time because we had not much, but what we had, we loved. thx 4 the vid
ooooooh I had the Bi-Wing Baron, with Baron Von Baron who sure was like a desert pirate, but you know who was an actual pirate and didn’t get a dessert? The Skeleton Crew, which I also had as a kid, I'd build it and take it apart as fast as a Red Devil; speaking of which, I also had this tiny F1, and I'd make it drive so fast it’d take flight just like the Bi-Wing Baron-but I don't want to hijack your comment section like an air pirate, so I’ll just say your Lego haul is giving me major nostalgia feels and make me want to dig out my old sets for a trip down memory lane and relive those pit stop memories!
I was in a school play. Once 😅but boring christmas song s. And now its christmas every week or day when i get lego 😅😊 im trying to flash back to primery school days .i dont recall teacher s or anny kids talking about lego. Or may be their was the robotic lego program. But i was not apart of it. But in high school wood work teacher made us build the wooden 🦆 duck so that wss very cool to remember. 😊
Ahhhhh old Lego. Memories. Except not for me. When the space theme was rebooted I got sort of excited and went looking for my vintage space minifigure that I had given to my son. Turns out all my fond memories of Lego as a kid were actually of Tyco and I never played with an actual Lego. I still had fun. But it wasn't technically Lego fun. *shrugs*
So why do all the sets from the time I graduated high school make me feel like I am ancient? I know that was a long time ago but they feel like they were made in an era before computers existed. Just because I had a pager my senior year doesn't make me that old does it? 🤣
This channel's production value and editing punches WAY above it's weight class (number for subscribers) - the only suggestion I would have (and not for the creator but for the viewers) is SUBSCRIBE! After only watching 3 videos (so far) I thought for sure the number of subs was 150k not just 15k - this is a travesty. BTW Josh dating these sets by way of how old he was really makes me feel old - theoretically, this gentlemen could be my son (age wise) - I very much doubt it based on looks but I have seen Maury Povich a time or three and know anything is possible ;-)
Those are the sets I had as a kid. I still have them all. Are you going to put them in storage and hide them from view forever? If you do that you should change the name of the channel to Josh HIDES Everything. Old sets are the best sets.
1991 great time s for me dam you was only 4 years old.then. Make s me feal old lol 😅 no i only 46 filling 33 age .is a bonus im still a big kid till some girl jumps my bone s .an try down grad my lego collection. Great video, I really enjoyed that!
Good to see you dive into acquiring more brown parts.
I still have the Adventurers Thunder Blazer, its still to this day my favourate little plane!
This was such a good and effective video. Loved the editing, loved the comedy, loved the quality sets. Keep it up!
you gotta pass by bricks and mini figs in Cary, NC (close to Raleigh). I work there and we would love to have you!
You beat me to some of these vintage sets at the garage sale. I own the supernova ii and the same die cast Ferrari F1 car
That pirate set with a skeleton and small shark submarine were one of the last sets I bought as a child. My little brother has that bi-plane.

These are fantastic
I miss my 90s lego so bad. Donated it all when I entered the teen years 😭
Came here for the nostalgia haul, stayed for the musings on inevitable mortality
Still have the pieces to that Johnny Thunder set
Thank you for recovering some memories of my childhood. I'm pretty sure I owned the Fire Chief's Car, and the Astro Dasher.

I had the barren set but my imagination took me away and I disassembled it
I may have blacked out 1 or 2 times playing with airplanes
LoL 😆 it's like blowing up balloons or blow up beds. Than yousing a electric pump 😊
do you need any 80s Technic ??
Why is your table so wobbly? Is it even a table or is it a board you had sitting on top of your legs?
"This one is from 1985, almost 40 years old!" *sigh* Same.
Now I really want to make a photoshop of a cereal box called "Oops, All Scorpions" in the style of Captain Crunch

Bro you gotta fix that table
I had some of these, but when I went to high school, I also went into my dark age and thus my mom donated them to Good Will. So yeah

I would never say a set from 2004 is old and yet somehow that was 20 years ago.

Wait, people actually SELL their old LEGO sets!? I've kept every single piece, even the broken ones.
Those are the sets I had as a kid. I still have them all. Are you going to put them in storage and hide them from view forever? If you do that you should change the name of the channel to Josh HIDES Everything. Old sets are the best sets.
Nothing stays in storage forever, I rotate sets in and out. But storage isn't exactly organized right now so it'll be a while.

You think you're this "hotshot" Lego builder huh?! Well let me tell you something junior.
