I hate the front end where the Acura A is placed inside a brick. I'm sure it's their implementation of adaptive cruise and brake assist but it's enough to stop me from considering this for myself. The exhaust tips... I just don't know why they'd go away from the duel tips on the concept. Terrible decisions.
I thought they were pretty harsh in this review as well, but I know there talking about what the tail lights. The taillights are good stand alone, but in context with the car they kind of don't fit it. The front looks amazing, the real looks like a Mazda and its so out of place
Yuri tends to make a mountain of a molehill. He got so hung up on the Apple Carplay software update that he missed out on reviewing one of the best sound systems in the industry, ELS 3D.
10:28 I'm shocked you guys aren't aware that sometimes a car has to roll a few inches for a parking pawl to engage. That's been like that for decades now.
Which is why you ought to use the park brake even when there's also a transmission parking pawl, seeing people roll their cars against the pawl when slamming some 5000 lb SUV into park ON A HILL is excruciating.
I dont know if you driven one of the new hondas with this shifter but the crawl is alot more than most cars. My dad and I both immediately noticed it when we got our new honda. Its kinda scary when parking on a hill
plus the fact the ZF 9-speed sucked on the old TLX, Acura's not doing business with them again. Their in-house Honda 10-speed has been waaaay more reliable.
@@TheBreakfastLover Exactly! They were stuck with their purchase contract with ZF and had to stick it on several Honda and Acura Models. Honda took matter into their own hands and developed a new trans!
Amazing job Acura did on this. Acura is def back with this new design. Not sure why the reviewers were so hard on it matching the concept, I actually think this looks better then the concept. Interior is great as well.
Yuri I don't understand how you seem so surprised and disappointed when the concept doesn't look exactly like the production model. They rarely do due to mainly safety measures. 😒
It has no advantages over its competition. There's also a ton of questionable design choices (weight and size being the most egregious). It looks good, and SH-AWD is really nice, but that's about it. Maybe price will be an advantage when dealers become desperate to offload them like the current TLX. I wouldn't call that hate, just criticism.
Kuki Mel 27 lol, because they were honest and said mean things about a terrible car? Ok, unsub and don’t watch them any more. I promise you, they will notice and really really miss you 😂😂
Awkwardly negative review that differs greatly from literally every other review I’ve seen today by reputable sources. Even The Topher gave it praise - who was very critical of the driving dynamics of the outgoing TLX. Don’t take one persons opinion as the gospel go drive it yourself. I’m sure this is a great car. It looks fantastic.
@Dylan Matthew I think topher gives valid criticism when appropriate. he doesn't sh*t on the entire car bc it doesn't have the same exact lines as a concept or doesn't rewind sat radio. lol
I think every review I've seen has been positive except TheStraightPipes and Consumer Reports (lol). If this was Rotten Tomatoes the new TLX would be like 95% Certified Fresh.
Uri? Yuri? Whatever how you spell his name. He keeps claiming concept this, concept that. But then he goes on Acura’s Type S video and says “they’re excited for the Type S”. So, having a Type S suddenly changes their perception of this car? WTF? And Uri actually owns a concept car which is his dream car...which is a Prowler? I’m actually sorry his dream car is a Prowler.
@@MCWhiffles no one but brand snobs want that over priced, unreliable shit box still. Coming from a 850ci, 750il, and 540i former owner. Good luck with you beemer
You guys are quite literally the only reviewers to dislike the car and didn’t even highlight some of its best features, namely the ELS audio system. Production models will never look as good as concepts for high volume vehicles.
ricky v I like how it looks too! The concept was very striking and this is pretty close to it. Just disappointed that half the review was basically them saying they wished it looked more like the concept.
Agreed. For the last decade or two it seems the Japanese were trying to out do each other on who could make the ugliest car Looks like the new m3/m4 takes that title now
Is it me but are they overly negative ?? Idk I’ve watched 7 or 8 reviews and everyone loves the car and have their critiques but they’re critiques are childish and aren’t even really articulated as well as they could but I looooooove the shots and red color of their vid so I’ll shut up now and just look at the TLX
mylifeisJDM ooooh tut makes sense but then I remember oh wait they just reviewed the 2019 Acura tlx aspec sh-awd. I’ve never driven it but Acura’s sh-awd sounds incredibly intelligent.
Respectfully, I disagree with you. I love TSP reviews but I often find them "too positive" and I want to hear more critique! Granted I havent driven this Acura TLX, but I dont find it appealing AT ALL.
I just don’t think at what they will have to charge the Type S is going to be competitive against the similar priced Germans (S4/M340). You’re spending close to $60k and the M340i is just a absolute rocket. Germans discount heavy too, my 19 S4 was $13k off new.
Sorry guys. Been watching some other reviews and feel like there’s something off here especially with Yuri on what he’s saying. The other reviews while they agree on certain points seem far more objective when it comes to actual dynamics and other things for the vehicle. The experience itself is marred considering the review from the RDX which has the same power train and a cheaper interior. There was praise there, yet here it’s basically panned as a non-starter. What happened?
TheStraightPipes only difference with this point is that this is the same engine and transmission since that review. So there it was good, and here it’s not even though it has the same characteristics?
@@TheStraightPipes and that's no damn frikin excuse... it's not what you say it's how you say it you could have said it's a really good car but because you've reviewed so much cars your expectations have changed and that overall it's a pretty good car but they are just some other options out there that you prefer... that's way way way more unbiased then how are you guys did it... @@RaY_77W I'm saying the exact same thing.... much time is spent in subjective nit picking to extent that any firdt time viewer would swear this car is the worst in its class. Thats what makes this review distasteful. I just wish they would review a car for what it is!
@@hamee8726 yeah, same. Was super excited about this car, and these guys' were the first review I watched. Got super disappointed in the car, like could it really be thaaat bad?? Then I went on and watched at least 5 different reviews from other channels. Definitely changed my opinion on the car.
He's definitely in the minority. Car&Driver, Autoblog, Motor Trend, Motor Authority, Automobile, and Motor1 all gave the TLX really good reviews, particularly the driving dynamics. EDIT: Also fellow RUclipsrs like TheTopher, Alex-on-Auto's, and Raiti's Ride were far more positive than Yuri. I'll say it again, Yuri's opinion is an outlier from otherwise really good reviews.
TheBreakfastLover doesn’t matter. All you need to do is look at the actual drive reviews. It’s lag is pretty bad. It’s 0-60 is worse than the old V6 and RDX. You can hear it. Yeah the car is beautiful but the drive doesn’t seem very good. For a sports sedan, it’s not comparable to other models in its class.
@@Jacobk66 true, but when the consensus from multiple outlets (not just Motor Trend) applaud the driving dynamics, Yuri's opinion becomes most likely an outlier.
Didn’t like this review. The new infotainment system is way better than the outgoing infotainment. I think this going to be a solid daily driver as well. I have an Audi S4 and that car is a money pit and I might get the v6 version of this car with more hp and torque.
So you want only people who agree with you? The review is what it is. Don't be insecure. If you like the fucking care then get it. They gave their review.
Daniel RN did he say “I don’t like the review because I don’t agree with them” you don’t have to be a dick about it. Btw is *car not care Just like the journalist gave their opinion about the car J Grill is giving he is stating his opinion as well. The review was okay, I’m not an Acura or Honda fan. They have review worst cars than this and gave them a much better and positive review. I just hope they are not being so judgmental because this is an “accessible car and not a super car”
Dylan Matthew The new infotainment system is way better. They didn’t really dwell on that and the sound system is way better. I have owned several European brands such as Mercedes and Audi and Japanese brands too. One of the things that frustrate me with several reviewers is they don’t talk about potential reliability.
Why does this review seem so negative? Everything feels really nitpicky, especially the rollback thing that *EVERY* car does? (Coming from someone who currently works in an oil change shop and moved 30+ cars a day)
@@TheStraightPipes guys....so why mention it if its just a bit more... guys come on so damn frikin negative about this...ik that not who you really are😫😫😫

@@YuriTereshyn yea, but 99% of the cars on the market doesn't exactly look like concept. They are concept for a reason. You can't take that 1% and brag about it. And btw how many Prowlers they sell each year? Probably less than Rolls-Royce. So that argument is invalid.
The True Touch Interface is extremely intuitive and works exceptionally well. If Yuri can't figure it out, that's on him, not the car. Don't let his opinion on the infotainment stop you, it works great. Anyone who can't figure it out is too attached to their own ideas of what an infotainment system should be and isn't open to what an infotainment system can be. If you actually own an acura with TTI, like the RDX, it won't take much time at all to become accustomed to the system. If you have the car for a day to test, are using the car mostly for filming, and don't familiarize yourself completely with the system, then of course it's going to feel different. And that's basically true for any new car infotainment system that you are unfamiliar with. Frankly Acura has put a lot of thought into it, not to mention how unsafe a touch screen can be while driving, and the thought and consideration that went toward the TTI clearly went over some reviewer's heads. Also, the comparisons to the Type S Concept are irrelevant. What do you intend to gain by comparing a production vehicle to a concept vehicle? Didn't we all know it wasn't going to be exactly like the concept, hence... Concept? They did a great job translating the concept to production. Lastly, saying the grill and front end are mostly the same from previous models? No, it's not. Period. How can you even argue that it's the same front end? It's a completely different car from the ground up. Why do you think so many people are loving the looks of this 2021 compared to the outgoing model? Sure, It's "the same" in the same way EVERY manufacturer's front end and grill are the same. Obviously they're going to keep the diamond pentagon grill and the jewel eyes. Every mftr keeps their grills and headlines across all models and only updates them iteratively each redesign. Good Lord. Did you expect them to get rid of the diamond pentagon grill and jewel eye headlights that they've been working on for years and finally developed some brand recognition and then just start all over from scratch? Can you believe Acura gave it wheels, a windshield, and tailights too? Looks like every other car out there now doesn't it? Basically a 2007 Acura TL by that measure. I like these guys and their videos. But they REALLY missed it in the commentary on this one. The only thing of note worth accepting are the delays with the transmission and paddle shifters.
What do you mean they had to slap the concept parts onto the existing body? What existing body? This isn't the old body, it's a brand new body and platform.
I'm sure that homda being ahead and design and performance over the past few years is not helping. Honda had all the new turbo engines while Acura was still riding around with the old k24 in all their models.
Great channel, great reviews, but agree this was harsh on Acura, the auto gearbox gripe is fair but ripping the A spec doesn’t look like the type S concept is off key, wait for the actual type S to come out to make that call, and also A specs like never offer more performance, so why should it this time? Anyway, you guys rock but I’m calling you out on this one, PS touch pads can save us from annoying and distracting all touch interfaces!!
Very accurate and fair review. Sometimes we have to accept that our favorite car is not going to get glowing reviews from our favorite reviewers. It happens.
Sounds like you guys have something personal against Acura, so busy being salty and blindly trash talking the car that a few key features about the car were not mentioned. This review was terrible.
They shat on this car like it's worse than the previous generation. They should have called the video "everything we don't like about the Acura tlx". Certainly wasn't a review.
F L I completely disagree the whole car in person looks very rear wheel drive with a very long dash to axle ratio, and it is surprisingly low and wide. The cabin looks stretched back, typical of a rear wheel drive car
F L have you seen this in person? It doesn’t seem like you have. It definitely looks like a RWD car and it sits pretty low to the ground. Lower than all it’s competitors.
@F L I disagree, the new TLX definitely looks RWD. The A-pillar and front door line sit well behind the front wheel arch. The old TLX and new Accord does not.
@@kristians2704 Who cares if the Lexus grille is huge if most of it is non-functional? Who cares if the Audi SQ5 has quad exhaust tips if none of them are real? Newsflash: style is rarely pragmatic.
Come on Yuri how can you say it's pretty much the exact same front end as last year when this a completely new generation, they have some resemblance but are definitely not the same.
I don't get this comment. They do look the same. If you're not insisting that the overlapping parts make them so different. Yeah other brands do that too, but that doesn't mean this don't look the same.
Agreed, some surface detailing is similar, but the fundamental stance and proportions are very different. The old design was cab-forward, the new one is cab-rearward as if it were RWD.
I don't think the TLX is considered "entry-level" anymore because it's the new flagship sedan for Acura. It might be between compact & midsize sedan categories but it's by no means an "entry-level" sedan anymore when that designation would go to the ILX in the Acura lineup
Lmao what? The TLX is definitely entry-level. Acura is just incapable of making a higher end vehicle at this point. Just because TLX is Acura’s flagship vehicle, that doesn’t make it a BMW 5 series fighter. People might consider it with a BMW 2 series or 3 series at best.

Agreed. I own this car and everything about it in the other reviews rings true. This is the only one that gives it low marks. The horsepower and torque alone in this class is right at the top.
Eleanor Massaro the back is 95% of the concept except for the rear defuser (which is only on the Type-s) and the tail lights. All the lines and shapes from the concept are exactly the same. Idk what you or Yuri are talking about. It’s not as seamless obviously because it’s actually functional in the production model and not a shell. He literally called the back awkward for not being like the concept. So if there was no concept he would like it? Yuri just doesn’t like Acura and it’s pretty obvious. Anyone who chooses the Lexus infotainment over that is getting paid to.
@Dylan Matthew It has more standard features then any of the German brands, power is comparable, exterior design is great, interior fit and finish is really nice, you have a fantastic warranty, Acura takes care of their customers, great value proposition and the gearbox is much better then the 9 speed offered in the previous gen tlx. Shall I go on.
This video was weirdly negative about everything about this car but then makes a video about the new Kia And almost likes everything about it maybe they’re taking a brand dealer or something be the cause this car usually gets really good reviews I don’t know all I’m saying is this video was weird
I actually think the exterior looks really nice. Acura did their best to keep it close to the Type S concept, & they made adjustments or changes to make it more production ready. They might've had to make some of the changes for safety & regulation reasons too. Style is subjective so it all depends on everyone's individual taste

Fahd Abiyyi I usually like and appreciate their reviews but I’m starting to feel like these guys really let their personal biases dictate, even before an actual trial run, which cars they’re actually going to to excited about and thoroughly review. The way they kept harping on the concept seemed a bit immature to me. Who cares about the concept at this point, it was a CONCEPT. We’ve seen the production unit for some time now, just give me an objective review of what we actually got! I personally feel AlexonAutos did a much more thorough review of this car. I’m hoping maybe Savagegeese does a review of it at some point. Hopefully these guys tighten up their focus a bit during their reviews.
You're right. Something is off on their video. The replies are for sure petty but the negativity for no reason on this car was very weird. They are extremely biased but we already know that. Their reviews are starting to get worse.
Yeah for some reason I felt off in this video to they were like really negative when this car really got good reviews by everybody else I don’t know it’s weird man and They kept comparing it to cars that wasn’t even in this car category
TheStraightPipes i dont think anyone cares about your prowler. You said this everytime someone brought up concept cars in the comments. Not all cars will be like their concepts, this is well known everywhere.
HerrPoopschitz are they bs though or is he bias? He literally said he basically doesn’t like the car because it’s not the concept. Which is not a valid or logical reason to not like or negatively review a vehicle. The fact that he said he likes the Lexus infotainment better is absurd and honestly makes him questionable to me now. Especially how they reviewed the RDX and gave it so much praise. Then hates it for not having 360 camera on that trim and Jakub tells him the BMW, Audi, and Mercedes competitors don’t as well and all Yuri says is “well it needs it”. Seems more like this is the bs review. And I normally love the straightpipes reviews. It’d be interesting to see how they would review the new Lexus IS. Then it would really tell if they were getting paid off to talk bad on this car.
@@AFCompany What Yuri meant was that he liked the concept but does not like the toned down version. He didn't say he doesn't like it because it's not concept. There's a big difference in this. Sometimes concept cars look great but the production models don't. That's very common. I don't think this is a biased statement to make. He had hated almost all touchpads and he likes touch screens. Why people say he is biased when he say the same thing for Acura? I wonder who is the biased one. Honda fans can't take any negativity because they are biased towards Honda vehicles.
Lowlands I am definitely not a Honda fan boy but as a car person there is no way in hell the Lexus infotainment system is better than this one. It’s now touch screen which is better but Yuri is talking about liking the track pad more which is insane. its weird how they loved the RDX but hated on this car. It's literally the sedan version of the RDX. they gave more praise to the last gen TLX than this one, and this is a FAR BETTER car than its previous gen. what's up with that @straightpipes ?

TheStraightPipes the prowler and LC are low production cars where Chrysler and Lexus tried to use them as their halo cars to prove a point about how exciting and enticing they can be. The TLX on the other hand is simply a mid-sized luxury sedan, it doesn’t need to look “exactly like the concept” like literally 99.9% of all other cars made.

You guys miss the mark on the coffee and the car, a rare happening. The TLX gives a tko to the Lexus ES, a tie to the BMW 430i, a ddt to the Benz C300, and a half-nelson to the Audi A5 sport back. Among, these vehicles the TLX is the MVP for price, tech., safety, performance, standard features, quality, and durability. 🖖 Tim Hortons ☕👍
Here's the problem with this car in a nutshell. It's heavier and slower than the accord 2.0T, cost a few grand more than the older 4 cylinder TLX, but it's quicker than the TLX na 4. The good about this car is the looks and performance over the non turbo 4 cylinder. Acura just needs a quick affordable luxury 4 cylinder to compete with the Germans and Koreans. YUP noticed I didn't include Toyota or other Japanese car makers because they're either expensive, reliable, and slow or fragile and quick. Honda just engineers good stuff that's affordable but the TLX needs a smaller, lighter, more affordable, and quicker sibling.
supposedly acura is replacing the ilx with a compact car (think 1st gen tsx) in 2022, and it should have various trims (including type s) too. not sure if it will use an acura-only platform, but guessing the engine will come from the civic since they can tune the type s to 300 if they really wanted to. if they can get a ilx-sized sh-awd type s putting out 275 and price tops out at 35k, that ain't bad.
My favourite thing is watching a Hellcat straight pipes video then watching them review a normal car. The Hellcat really brings out the crazy in them (in the best way possible)
Nothing says it all than Yuri wincing as Jacob pulls around the corner. If ever 2 seconds sums up a car review.. it would be that moment. Great job again Honda/Acura...
It's really weird, they were praising the RDX which has the same engine, transmission, and AWD system. TheStraightPipes are too inconsistent with their opinion.
Agree with you guys, I don't know what happened to them on this video. I own a 2020 Accord Touring 2.0t and it does make a huge difference to have the car on the different driving modes: Eco - Normal - Sport. If you want quick down shifts and throttle response then you should be on the Sport mode... That is what it's made for
@@212dems I love Hondas but the 10 speed auto trans is sluggish. The only solid built auto honda made is the 8 speed DCT on the 2.4 ILX which in sport drive is very close to a manual feel with excellent paddle shifters that are quick to shift up and down. The torque converter in standard mode is better for everyday driving also with pretty smooth feel. It's why after someone destroyed my 2018 accord Sport 2.0t I bought a Civic Si which didn't last very long it was missing to many creature converts though, so that wasn't working as much as I like manuals. Now because I hated hondas CVT's and the automatics Honda makes I almost gave up until I drove the more old school 2020 ILX A Spec the transmission sold the car with updated 2.4 version from the 9th gen Si. Also the price helped at $23,995 down from $31,320 MSRP. Another trans built even stronger like this in the TLX would have made more sense.
@@robertblack6630As a 2020 Accord Touring 2.0t owner, I cannot give you my opinion about the 8 speed DCT from acura because I haven't tried, but I have heard that it is really good in terms of shifting speed. What bothers me is the way they did this review, they don't seem to care about giving people an honest unbiased review about the car. It's like if they didn't wanted to do it in the first place and just decided to give the middle finger to the car. If you watch their RDX and 10th gen Accord review you will see what I mean. Some idiot living in mom's basement with no licence could have done better....😂 Now before I made my decision I drove the 2020 and 2021 TLX though I ended up buying my ILX A Spec. The 2020 TLX body is ugly and the 2021 has a perfect look for me but price tag is alot higher when it starts at 38k. Plus I don't know in my case if I could ever get passed the 10 speed transmission feel after my accord it's worse after you own it for awhile. As the ILX has new school exterior styling with a old school sportier feel with that Vtech K24A7 engine that is bullet proof. It's like having 9th gen Civic with luxurious interior except this has a DCT auto-manual trans so I don't have to row. Transmissions matter more to me then horsepower because if you can't put the power properly to the ground in a enjoyable manner then what's the point. My CR-V with the CVT trans is a belt driven loud wind-up toy that never shifts.

@@swanblake not going to lie I am a honda fanboy but to really make the infotainment that works a deal breaker and say it's worse than lexus when that stuff doesn't even work is a little bit too much.
I just had a 2019 TLX fwd 2.4. Eco mode makes throttle dead, and sport mode made it very lively, responsive. Having 65 more hp and 100lb feet more would have blown my sox off. I think they are getting used to high end cars, and need to work on calibrating their expectations
They drove the Mazda RX-8 with less power and enjoyed it. It seems like there is something wrong with the handling settings or the tyres -- the A.Spec is supposed to be the sporty model, it shouldn't have excessive bodyroll or feel disconnected from the road! On top of that, the inline-four turbo lacks character compared to the old V6, and the transmission was laughably slow to downshift. None of that is good. :(
TassieLorenzo and it’s a fwd based awd which is shit even if it has sh awd. I know because I’ve driven one, all fwd based awd feel like shit, drive a rwd based awd system spiritedly and you’ll notice the difference immediately

yes, really dope
I miss the old ~2005 TL/RL designs, nothing since comes close to that TL Type S. I'll withhold judgement until you guys test the new Type S!
oh and why the bouncy camera footage? I thought you guys were going into a worm hole..
It's sick and also excited for Type S..
But the intro was good with music though......
"The taillights are good, but also bad?" This is the kind of sophisticated analysis that I come to The Straight Pipes for
Hahaha
"The taillights look good, but they aren't like the concept, so the taillights look bad"
How about the parking critique? Weird review
I thought they were pretty harsh in this review as well, but I know there talking about what the tail lights. The taillights are good stand alone, but in context with the car they kind of don't fit it. The front looks amazing, the real looks like a Mazda and its so out of place
@@KK-tt6ui Yeah the parking critique was ridiculous. Every automatic tanny does that.

Yuri tends to make a mountain of a molehill. He got so hung up on the Apple Carplay software update that he missed out on reviewing one of the best sound systems in the industry, ELS 3D.
These 2 don’t have a good chemistry. It got better but the bad chemistry is still there
10:28 I'm shocked you guys aren't aware that sometimes a car has to roll a few inches for a parking pawl to engage. That's been like that for decades now.
Agreed my 07 car dose that and most cars even now move a lil when you put park
Yuri hates Acura that’s why
Which is why you ought to use the park brake even when there's also a transmission parking pawl, seeing people roll their cars against the pawl when slamming some 5000 lb SUV into park ON A HILL is excruciating.
Yeah this is how my Kia works too but I have a DCT so I thought maybe that’s why. I just use the parking brake because that’s how I was taught.
I dont know if you driven one of the new hondas with this shifter but the crawl is alot more than most cars. My dad and I both immediately noticed it when we got our new honda. Its kinda scary when parking on a hill
“They should have used the ZF eight-speed”
ZF doesn’t make an eight speed for FWD or FWD-based AWD, so Acura couldn’t have used it
Toyota(Aisin) 8AT FWD Version may be better than this.
@@TechBuuny Aisin is shit and not geared for sportiness.
plus the fact the ZF 9-speed sucked on the old TLX, Acura's not doing business with them again. Their in-house Honda 10-speed has been waaaay more reliable.
@@TheBreakfastLover Exactly! They were stuck with their purchase contract with ZF and had to stick it on several Honda and Acura Models. Honda took matter into their own hands and developed a new trans!
Maybe Jakub is thinking of the Honda-built 8 speed DCT on the old 2.4L TLX ?? Like you say, the ZF 8 speed was for longitudinal/RWD vehicles only.
Amazing job Acura did on this. Acura is def back with this new design. Not sure why the reviewers were so hard on it matching the concept, I actually think this looks better then the concept. Interior is great as well.
No way I still prefer Accord Touring 😤

It starts at $33K USD, I would consider that entry level.
Lmao what? The TLX is definitely entry-level. Acura is just incapable of making a higher end vehicle at this point. Just because TLX is Acura’s flagship vehicle, that doesn’t make it a BMW 5 series fighter. People might consider it with a BMW 2 series or 3 series at best.

Meh, Throttle House is way much better than these two clowns, and there're more quality content out there. If you look these two objectively, they just give opinions and don't know a lot about cars.
@@disco.lemonade When I say they’re pretty good they’re usually funny not really what I’m looking for but give them credit for what they are I guess.... this review really got on my nerves though....Didn’t even talk about the freaking killer 17 speaker system... they just said things are not true about the car....some things were tru but they were very minor and they made a big deal about it other things just did not exist anywhere else on any other review about this car...
Yo WTH you guys didn’t even talk about the sound system!
They probably didn't even turn on the stereo.
But hey, apparently Apple CarPlay can't pronounce Jakub anymore, so at least we know that completely useless information.
It apparently has the best sound system in the industry, ELS 3D. So it's a shame they spend soooo much time talking about how Apple CarPlay's software update is unable to voice-recognize "Jakub W".
And as much as I love TheStraightPipes, you can't count on them to give a comprehensive review.
the krell sound system that’s available on some models is absolutely insane for an oem system
It's because the sound system is better than the one in the G70, that's why they didn't bother reviewing it.
Hopefully these guys tighten up their focus a bit during their reviews.
love the car, buying it!, love the content!

You're right. Something is off on their video. The replies are for sure petty but the negativity for no reason on this car was very weird. They are extremely biased but we already know that. Their reviews are starting to get worse.
@Yousef Shabana I don't think they ever talk about sound systems 😔
Yeah for some reason I felt off in this video to they were like really negative when this car really got good reviews by everybody else I don’t know it’s weird man and They kept comparing it to cars that wasn’t even in this car category
TheStraightPipes i dont think anyone cares about your prowler. You said this everytime someone brought up concept cars in the comments. Not all cars will be like their concepts, this is well known everywhere.
I love that you guys are honest about how you really feel instead of shilling for every car like it is the greatest thing ever.
exactly. Honda fan boys are angry that Yuri did not like this car, but what's the use of watching this channel if they like every car they review?
Agreed. Ive been waiting eagerly for reviews of this thing, and tired of the bs reviews. Very refreshing.
Don’t you find it odd they are driving around in a car with one of if not the best audio systems in the whole industry and don’t even mention it? I really think Genesis paid them off.
its weird how they loved the RDX but hated on this car. It's literally the sedan version of the RDX. they gave more praise to the last gen TLX than this one, and this is a FAR BETTER car than its previous gen. what's up with that @straightpipes ?
Maybe because we’ve reviewed 200 cars since the rdx and our expectations have changed
@@TheStraightPipes Yeah, I get it, but I still think it's a better car than the video suggests. You guys are still my go to car review channel though. Hey Yuri, did you see my suggestion for your civic on your comment thread on the last civic vs mustang video? Go to The Topher. His reviews are unbiased and he actually focuses on the what people actually care about.
Damn few cars ever make the market looking exactly like the concept for several very good reasons.
My uncle works at a acura dealer and they got them yesterday he brought a white TLX a-spec it was so sexyyy
It seems jakub and yuri are no longer excited to do car reviews unless they are $100,000+. It's unfortunate, first review I couldn't finish.
I actually like the interior a lot. Probably because I'm a Honda guy, and I HATE PIANO BLACK!
Well the shifter is piano black.
How many times does he have to mention the concept? Like does he not understand what the word concept means?
Also mentions that the prowler and lc 500 are exactly like the concept....
TheStraightPipes what other production cars look like the concepts other than those two?
@@TheStraightPipes They do, and that's not a compliment to either.
@@TheStraightPipes And you got a Prowler... good for you. Next you should do a video called: 100 reasons why the Prowler is better than the 2021 TLX. Where you compare things like the car movement after putting the transmission in Park and 99 other pointless things 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

Watchmeshine yep. Didn’t say they couldn’t.
If this was Rotten Tomatoes, the Acura would be like 90+ percent and Certified Fresh. While TheStraightPipes didn't like the car, nearly every other reviewer did.
Made the interior more user friendly
Fix the gadge cluster
Use a 8 speed dct instead of 10 speed auto
Perfection
The skinny ones complaining sounded very whiny.
Tim Hortons ☕👍
Ya maybe if they took that same turbo 4 and put it in the ILX they could have an ILX Type S.
Agreed.
What Toyota product is fragile and quick?
@@odugs You didn't read the "or other Japanese car" part. They're talking about Nissan.
supposedly acura is replacing the ilx with a compact car (think 1st gen tsx) in 2022, and it should have various trims (including type s) too. not sure if it will use an acura-only platform, but guessing the engine will come from the civic since they can tune the type s to 300 if they really wanted to. if they can get a ilx-sized sh-awd type s putting out 275 and price tops out at 35k, that ain't bad.
Why would you give the RDX top marks but not the TLX? Is the transmission lag worse or about the same? Confounding review.
If you watch Alex On Autos you will see what is the objective way to point out "flaws" about this car in a professional way (Like I said before, I know the car is not perfect)
@@212dems yeah I agree with you. Seriously this is probably the worst try at giving a review on a car I have seen in long time. Some idiot living in mom's basement with no licence could have done better....😂
Now before I made my decision I drove the 2020 and 2021 TLX though I ended up buying my ILX A Spec.
I swear Kia/Hyundai is paying them to say all these negative comments... Didn't mention one pro about this beautiful car

I prefer black rims, especially on a red car.
Agreed, I wish the rims had more character, but the car is sexy otherwise
