Over the years I done all the wainwrights in the Lakes 150+ Munro's. IMHO The 5 best bridges walks in Scotland. 1: Full traverse of the Cuillin ridge. 2: Aonach Eagach. 3: Liathach. 4: An Teallach. 5: CMD. But my Fav mountain of all? you've guessed it "Stac Pollaidh" You can spend all day up there scrambling what ever grade you want to your hearts content. In spectacular surroundings. It is special

A stunning little mountain which I still haven't topped more than 25 years after my first attempt. The first one ended on the moor at the back of the mountain in storm force winds where it was one step forward two steps back and I retreated while I could still get back off in one piece. The second ended a year after a major heart operation and work down south where I didn't see a hill from one month to the next. I was so unfit that on a perfect May day without a breath of wind I didn't even get to the top of the paved section.
Happily all is mended now and as soon as the pandemic permits I shall be back over the border where I prefer to be. All this stop-start has given me a real appreciation of just how hard it is to make good mountain walking videos. Hope you all find a way of keeping the faith going during the new lockdown.

A fantastic little mountain which I climbed some 25 years ago, and managed to scramble up the the west summit. Although I recall that it was rather more difficult getting down. It's an iconic mountain with an iconic name. But I'm always disappointed when I go out cycling locally (Wirral) and I pass a house that they have named 'Stack Polly'. Grrrr. Really enjoyed both Gary's and your vlogs. Nice to see the SP car park almost empty, it can get somewhat stowed out in the summer months.
SP is a cracking little hill but I'd nominate Ben Stack as my favourite wee mountain. Nearby Meallan Liath Coire Mhic Dhugaill is another favourite for me, climbed it 5 or 6 times and only once saw another walker. Next door to Arkle which is absolutely stunning as landscape photogs might say.
Thanks for one of the best RUclips channels. Awesome stuff.

The timing of this video made me smile, as tomorrow would have been exactly a year since I was last on it. I was up for a week's winter climbing and late February was like spring not winter. Still 5 mountain days in the West Highlands in February and only one hour of rain while out, isn't something to complain about, despite the lack of snow. Stac Pollaidh via the West Buttress climb was my last day of the trip. Back up again next week, so should have more of a wintry time.
Always a lovely mountain. It really looks the part driving in, but from the car park you can't really see the shape. Then as you climb you get the view.

I can boast having climbed all the Munros, but the West top on Stac Pollaidh is rather tricky getting past the mauvais pas. What this hill/mountain or whatever you want to call it shows, is that the pleasure of a hill is not correlated to its height. This video captures that well. Stac Pollaidh is an excellent experience.

Another great video, and another fantastic location, there is a small sandy shore on Loch Lurgainn, i wild camped there in 2018 and the view of Stac pollaidh were breath taking.

Hi Murray, great video, we were up yesterday, little bit more snow than you had. Anyway, don't know how to do a more generic comment, but how about you and Jerry doing the Old Man of Stoer? That would be awesome, just a thought 🤞

Hi Steve, we have actually stood at the bottom of the Old man of Stoer after camping out the night before. We awoke and set up the Tyrolean crossing , but as we were gearing up to set of , we noticed some shower clouds on the horizon and decided we didn't want caught on the climb in the rain!! so we backed off... need to go back one day though :)

Incidentally I was on the Cobbler this Afternoon.... Forecast looked decent... Cobbler is Absolutely Burried in Fresh powder... I'd be swimming that all week... Couldn't get anywhere near the summit, up to my waist... Spindrift was Crazy fillling in steps within Seconds...
Chockstone Gully was Great... Had to Break thru the hole....cobbler path is in a bad state... Path builders have Temporary wrecked it Using a mini excavator🚜..1st time in 20 years I've never Been on the summit.... Wee Freeze and they'll be some good Condition 🏔️❄️⛏️⛏️☃️🌨️
