Method 1 does not work anymore (or at least not for me) it says "too many incorrect password attempts" and that the account is now locked. Method 2 worked flawlessly though. Thank you!

yes, actually that is a good point, windows home can not join a domain. What about the first method?
The easiest and best method to avoid the Microsoft account is to just switch to Linux. Bam, problem solved!
