This is a prototype model of the Image Processing based forest fire detection system using visual basic.net, Arduino, and a K-type thermocouple. I have this small demonstration video which I recorded a long time ago. The circuit diagram… Arduino programming… Visual basic application programming and thesis can be downloaded from my website. You can find a link in the description.
The k type thermocouple or temperature sensor is connected with the Arduino through the Max6675 breakout board. The temperature is used as the feedback which solves the false detection problem. This K-type thermocouple can measure temperature up to 1000 centigrade.
An email is sent only if the fire is detected and the temperature has crossed a certain pre-defined value. This value can be changed in the programming.
