Music is Win Can you do videos on basic set-up stuff? For example, im getting dead notes on my new guitar that I took in for a setup 2 months ago and dont want to have to spend another 85$ just for them to twist the truss rod a bit
How do you keep your guitar strings clean and easy to slide on? I clean mine with a cloth constantly but it still feels like my fingers are getting stuck when trying to play smoothly. Thanks
is it normal that every time I tune to an open g my top e sting breaks
I have a Gretsch with bigsby. How fun was it putting the strings on? Any tips?
This man buys guitars like shoes he has one for each occasion
You're not wrong, but he's had the 335 for awhile.
I have only one pair of shoes for every occasion
(But 15 guitars)
Oh by the way
You gonna have that croissant
@@iliyatheash6806 I have one pair of shoes for every occasion
And I only have one occasion
LMAO
Imagine if he drilled into the guitar by mistake while filming this
I think he would cry
Dont even want to imagine it! That would just be terrible.
Welp im evil and cynical so i think this stuff
imagine his wife suddenly pushed him out of fun. let's see how he reacts
He came pretty close lol
lol, glad to see i wasn't the only freaking out about the drill....i'd honestly just buy another guitar before i drilled into something, if i wanted a bigsby on my 335 i'd just sell what i had buy what i wanted....that said, a no drill bigsby is pretty cool! glad you didn't have to do that!
Same, I literally stood up and started pacing as the drill got closer
There is a Bisgby you can buy that you do not even need that adapter plate for. But that 335 now has 4 holes in it at the rear strap button location, which is fine if you plan on never taking it off, but if you do change your mind, well too darn bad lol. Me, I would just use the one hole where the strap button goes through and mounts it and not use those screws until after I was POSITIVE I wanted to keep the Bigsby on. I have a gretsch with one on it and it does nothing for me but I don't use a wiggle stick anyway. I did put a trapezoid bridge on my 335 style Peavey and I love it. You can just press down on the strings with your hand if you want to get a Vibrato type of effect, like Ted Nugent does on his Byrdlands. Also with the trapezoid I can just do one string where as a regular wiggle stick setup it's all or nothing. I did have to put 4 screws in by the strap button but I did wait until I was sure I was going to like it lol.
Shoot I was nervous even when he stopped but he was still just holding that drill bit that close!!
Hey man im curious..how much you payed for your 335? I just bought a brand new 335 but from 2011, has never been used and kept in a case with a humidifier.
Am I the only one that had a minor heart attack when he grabbed the bridge screw by the thread... with the pliers 😬😬😬
As a professional race car builder and part time engineer, it's not that big of a deal, that bolt is plenty hard enough to not get mashed threads
I was literally just thinking that! Whenever I do anything with screws on a machine or instrument, I dont wanna damage that perfect smoothe shiny screw.
@Catastrophic Stupidity .
I know i know. But I still like the shiny screws.
Nope, that hurt me too. I wouldn't dare risk damaging the fine threads on one of those bolts. Though, to be fair, he most likely has several spares available if something happened to one.
no
Told my girlfriend I wanted to get a Vibramate. She did not take it well.
Now that's funny.

Did not know the "blueberry burst" finish was available on the 335. Gorgeous!
Quick note about tremolo vs vibrato: all whammy bars are vibrato bars. Vibrato is a variation in pitch, tremolo is a variation in volume
Edit: didn’t mean to say speed.
A variation in speed would be the same as pitch modulation, as pitch is the speed of the vibration i.e. the frequency of the note? Actually, Tremolos produce a modulation in volume. One rather clumsy way to produce a tremolo effect would be to rapidly open and close your volume pot.
tremolo is a change in volume, and vibrato is a change in pitch
@@EdgarsLS Indeed that's what I said...
It’s a whammy bar lol
When you dropped the screw in the guitar I almost died I was hurt so much
@@Toumaiii not in my experience.
see thats why I don't have an acoustic
All tremolo's are vibratos, all tremolos are named wrong thanks to leo fender.
@@nuclearsenshitremolo alternates volume, but close enough
Leo
if anyone reading this comment is confused, heres what tremolo and vibrato mean:
tremolo - an oscillation in volume (how loud/quiet something is)
vibrato - an oscillation in pitch (how high/low something is)
what op said is that trem bars on guitars are the same as vibrato bars which is the same as a whammy bar
@@JJPMaster no
Everything: Awesome
The sticker: Hideous
Agreed. That sticker looks fucking awful... I do think they need to do a little bit of visual styling to the plate/bar though. They could make it match the Bigsby's look and it would be absolutely perfect with no caveat!
Juanma Caceres agreed
the sticker probably is paying homage to the custom made plate that GIbson used to put to factory Bigsby-equipped guitar to cover the hole originally drilled for stop-tail.
I'm assuming that the company sponsored this video so he's putting it on their to promote the product.
@@ReactarooSkidoo he said it wasnt sponsored
ACHTCHUALLY everything that people call "tremolo" on a guitar is vibrato, because it alters pitch. Tremolo alters volume.
Yes, it's Fender's fault for reversing the names.
Darn you, Leo Fender. Even though he made some of the best guitar models.
Even then, tremolo is still a misnomer. Tremolo classically is supposed to mean rapidly repeating notes.
@@loganfinn2728 don’t you mean staccato?
@@ZaneDalton
Staccato: a note played shortly
Tremolo: repeating notes at a rapid pace
Vibrato: fluctuation in pitch
This definitions are from classical music, so it is understandable if some other styles of music use the names differently

I've always been a sucker for Bigsbys (I've always been a fan of Gretsches) and your 335 looks even more majestic with it installed
I just installed a Bigsby B7 on my Epiphone Les Paul using the vibramate. Piece of cake, and sounds great! I also installed a Schaller roller bridge to mitigate the tuning instability issues inherent with using a vibrato bar. Very pleased with the results. Thank God for the vibramate. That drill headed toward that gorgeous 335 was terrifying.
That's one of the prettiest guitars I've ever seen. That paint-job is incredible.
2:15 Welp that's never going back on anything again
I gasped so hard when I saw him do that
I was hoping I wasn't the only one that shrieked when he did that lol.
lmao im so happy people recognized what could easily become a fatal flaw
That made me physically ill😂😂
i don’t get it
0:50 to 1:40, maybe the most satisfiying guitar cleaning ever
I agree 😂
I was thinking that before cleaning the guitar, he might have removed the tailpiece, since he planned to remove it anyway.
To be honest Tyler, you really keep surprising me as for your guitar skills and style, really marvelous ☺️🤩
Absolutely gorgeous guitar. That Bigsby makes it even more beautiful. 😍
I got a Vibramate for Christmas so I could put a Bigsby on my Epiphone Dot. I also got a string spoiler, which is amazing. I put a slight dent in the finish when I put the wrong screw in at first, but it's under the Vibramate, so you can't see it.
I will say you missed a good opportunity to switch to roller saddles.
I used a vibramate conversion thingie on my sg and it works great. However, in regards to the stringing hassle, Callaham makes a replacement cylinder piece that just uses holes instead of those prongs which makes stringing much easier and I think it looks better than the Vibramate alternative.
link?
What a gorgeous guitar. Perfectly fits a bigsby!
6:30 + what a tone 😯 amazing guitar, i’m always impressed about ur gear and playing. Thanks!
Man, staying at home is really hitting you hard.
Haha this comment aged really well
I don't care about it
When he plays it clean, it reminds me of the weird tremolo guy in the guitar store stereotypes video
Fast moon Gaming lol you’re right!
I like these laid back videos. I’d be happy to see more of it.
I came running into the comment section to try and warn this man to use a Vibramate. Lucky for me, he's one step ahead of me.
I installed one a couple years back with one of the spoilers Tyler used, and I love how easy it was to install without having to take tools to my guitar. It's been a ton of fun. This really is a brilliant adapter.
You scared the shit out of me by moving that drill towards that beautiful Gibson

This was a really well done video. Great job Tyler.
Great! Love your content bro, excellent production, great audio, good guitars, super nice narration, top quality, hope some day I can make content like yours. Big fan here!
Him: I don’t have a guitar with a bigsby
Me: I don’t have a guitar
Vibrato is an effect that occurs when the value of the frequency is changed in rapid succession. Tremolo does not change frequency in rapid succession, but instead changes the tone's amplitude rapidly.
Congrats on the bigsby. Looking forward to hearing it on your new album...
Love the new editing style!!
I need that song playing during the installation process. That was so cool sounding.
Reminds me of Gary Moore and Hank Marvin kind of put together, Nicely done tone man
Just be aware buddy that those Vibramates DO damage the finish - where the felt pads connect they will eat away/dull the finish. I had one on an SG for about 4 years and there are three very noticeable marks where the pads sat.
Be sure that you really want one lol
Yes, but drilling holes is also going to damage the finish, so...
I was thinking that leather pads would probably provide better protection than felt. But, in either case, there will likely be some damage to the finish over time.
And ... did you see those 4 screws he had to put in by the rear strap button? You can't undo that once it's done!! I put a trapezoid bridge on my 335 style Peavey but I waited until I was positive I wanted to stick with that before I installed the 4 screws necessary for that. He just put 4 holes in a $3000 guitar and yes those pads do mar up the surface!!
@@alabamahebrew nope the vibramate comes with a plate that screws into the bigsby. the plate is then held on with only the strap button. no holes in the guitar.
So glad you picked up the Vibramate String Spoiler. So many people don't know about these things and how they eliminate Bigsby re-stringing pain. I have Joe Bonamassa to thank: his Ltd Ed ES-355 Epiphone came with Bigsby factory fitted AND with Vibramate String Spoiler installed. Your Gibson looks and sounds great. Upgrading to locking Grovers would be the icing on the cake - faster, easier string changes and rock solid tuning stability.
The feedback at the end was beautiful. Thank you, tyguy
God that lick at 6:26 is so nice sounding, I had to sit down and just learn it on the spot. No idea how I'll use it, but it sounds great!
Do you have the tabs for it?
Do you?
Dude the bigsby, and the non drill kit etc costs more than my guitar :D. Still I love my affinity telecaster.
The telecaster´s bigsbys are really expensive xD Even the chinese copies are out of my budget hahaha
Gotta factory-installed Bigsby Vibramate on my LP Classic Gold Top-LOVE IT!!!...Splendid, Tyler! Good choice-Good demo!!
All I want to see that guitar play is “earth angel” with all the good sounds from Back to the Future. Truly an amazing sound..
Telecasters + Bigsbys = ❤️🔥
This is so cool
That guitar is GORGEOUS! I was thinking of getting one that same color but not the hollow body.
Love your playing here, so good! Thanks for sharing this!
I actually thought you were gonna drill in the guitar and I was like, he's not THAT stupid. Is He?
Nope, but stupid enough to use plyers the way he did at 2:15
@@Gnarkel that was horrifying
It was 100% obvious he wasn't going to drill it.
@@meteor713g I started screaming when he did that xD
Nice 335 and nice mod! Take care so... That bigsby could be addictive!!
Just to clarify one of the most common mistakes in the world of the guitar:
Tremolo: Amplitude oscillation of the signal.
Vibration: Frequency oscillation of the singal.
If you move the bar of a Fender bridge you are changing the tension of the strings, therefore the frequency at which they move ;)
If you move the volume up and down you are changing the amplitude of the signal :D
So:
So, Fender guitars has a Vibrato bridge not a Tremolo bridge. You installed a Vibrato system not a Tremolo system. The floyd rose is a vibrato bridge as well, not a tremolo bridge.
Fender did a mistake and named his bridge as a "tremolo bridge" and from then most of the people believes that is a "tremolo bridge" but it isn't.
Something similar happened with the Marshall JTM45 with tremolo. On the back panel they wrote "Tremelo" and because he hasn't corrected it since, it's "tremelo"
Cheers!
I am more into metal stuff and guitara but this piece is just gorgeous looking guitar omfg. Love the colors and how melancholic ir sounds.

that sticker is basically like putting a fishing bumper sticker on a 2020 corvette

Great playing
Ever played a Duesenberg Starplayer TV? You'd love that "vibrato" system.
Dusenberg Les Trem for the win any day. Just get a roller bridge (as with the Bigsby too).
‘Grabs insert by the threads’ Me: cringes
It was almost worse than the drill!
I was wondering if I was the only one super bothered by that lol. In my head I was thinking:
Stuck... "Okay"
Grabs pliers... "Right, makes sense"
Clamps onto the threads "WHAT ARE YOU DOING STOOOPPPP!!!" haha.
It's a hard enough material that it probably wouldn't hurt it. Gibson uses strong metals for their hardware.
@@niclastname LOL true!
Great mod - did this same job 6 months ago, couldn't be happier!
I think I have just seen my favourite guitar.
Thank you for the video.
The Bigsby is not a tremolo. Its an entirely whole new world. Its an experience.
A little tip from a mechanic: if your bolt is stuck on the end of the tool you are using and you can't get it off, thread the bolt back in slightly and then wiggle the tool off of the bolt, then unthread the bolt by hand.
This increases mental stability by a factor of 3 and saves you from throwing a lot of tools across the shop in anger.
Great video. Lots of good ideas/gadgets and excellent playing at the end.
Hi Tyler I think I have learnt more things from your channel than my school in Australia keep it up from Harry
Okay, I’m sure somebody mentioned this already, but I’m not reading through 500+ comments to find it. VIBRATO: Having to do with pitch changes. TREMOLO: Having to do with volume changes. Guitars do NOT have Tremolo Arms. Sheesh...
Unless it's a "Vibramute".
Many before you.
Finally someone who realizes that tremlo and vibrato are 100% different

That looks and sounds so good on that guitar
Does he even use half of those guitars often?
It's a collection. But at least he can actually play them. I've been messing around with guitars since high school. I'm 37 and got a 2019 Les Paul Standard new. I want a few more to collect but told myself when I get good with quality practice and music theory knowledge THEN I can get more.
