Thank you for posting this! I noticed in the 1:1:1 part that your backswing got a lot shorter on the rep with the ball -- you are human just like us :)
Great vid again Chris. What I'm getting out of this is that the arms are not really doing the power in the swing, it's the body turning and the arms pretty much along for the ride. Trying to generate the power with the arms throws the body turn off and you just don't seem to able to smooth through the swing and get that effortless strike.
There is a huge difference in your hip movement. between your practice. swing and the swing when you actually hit the ball. It is a completely different swing/ The reason is that when you hit the ball you start the downswing faster than with the practice swing. Because of this the hips have to move a lot faster to lead the upper body. This requires a lot more strength and is a lot faster. This strength issue is what separates good golfers. from average golfers.
I couldn’t disagree more really. I have worked with NHL players, NBA players, NFL players etc and it’s pretty safe to say every single one of them has strength superior to mine and they still don’t produce speed at the bottom of the tour average. This was a backswing video and if we want to discuss what really separates good golfers from average golfers, we can certainly discuss it. Loading and unloading the body in a very specific order, utilizing leverage properly both from ground force and lag, inside of that loading and unloading to produce speed is important but that doesn’t separate good golfers from average golfers. There’s a little more to the game of golf than lower body strength I can assure you of that.
A great drill and pre shot routine! Thanks.
Glad you enjoyed it Ron.
Easy to understand with clarity
That’s the goal. Thank you for watching.

Absolutely spot on! Turn, stay wide is much easier to keep the arms from outracing in the downward half.
I am ending up right side of fairway or straight down the middle of fairway_Al from Saginaw
Hitting fairways is NEVER a bad thing.
The lesson starts a 3:00.
How is it possible to remain tension free by reaching back to create width? I find it impossible.
