So what’s the solution because having a so called “bad team” go up against the number 1 and beat them is what makes it a success. Ya it’s rare to see it happen but when it does that’s what brings the excitement. If you’d like a best of 7 we’ll be in March madness till July so... I’m not saying you’re wrong but I’m curious what you’d like to see as a “fair playoff”
@@alexbinkley5479 March madness till July 😂 that would be amazing to see college basketball for that long lol. But I like it the way it is today! It’s called March Madness for a Reason not July Madness lol. Go Hokies!
@Hayden Panagos imo this is the perfect playoffs in sports So much excitement and hype for every game One game to either show up or go home Really anyone can win and any top team can have a bad showing and it leads to a shocking win the UMBC beating Virginia is the perfect game to show why nothing can top March Madness imo
So did I and glad I watched it from here with my list of Automatic Bids, Teams likely to get At Large Bids and then also teams on the bubble. So it probably took me 45 minutes to go through even the bracket unveilings
Vdub Productions In other words...they pretended that last year’s format (in which they ran through the automatic qualifiers and at-large bids _followed by_ the bracketing in front of a live studio audience here in Atlanta) never existed.
I was at the San Jose games in 2019, it was interesting how after that weekend, Seth Davis was right how the 12 and 13 seeds were going to pull off upsets with Oregon being the only double digit seed going to sweet 16 and gave Virginia a game in that sweet 16 match.
March Madness 2019 was the last March Madness of the CBS Corporation era, before it re-merged with Viacom towards the end of the year to become ViacomCBS, thus reuniting CBS Sports with Viacom and bringing Spongebob Squarepants to the fold!
Big Bama fan here. I remember days before this show I was following bubble teams and bracketologists in hope that my Tide would be on the good side of the bubble. I remember on Selection Sunday I was nervous and knew we had a slim chance to get in but felt our SOS and NET was the only hope we had to sneak in, but obviously we didn't in (Second team out on 29:05) . I wasn't angry. I knew we had more problems than simply missing the NCAAT. Several days later both the University and Avery Johnson agreed to a buyout which made me mad because I wanted Avery to succeed and he contacted us about the job after the program was dead in the waters. In my opinion he's the greatest hire we ever had, but at the same time he never solved problems that was there on the team. Then seeing our in state arch rivals make it to the Final Four put me in a dark place as a Bama Hoops fan during March of 2019 going into April of 2019 until Virginia knocked them off. Now we're less than 2 weeks away from Selection Sunday. My team will more than likely be a 2 seed, but could bump up to 1 if we take care of business on our side the rest of the conference season. Our ceiling is really high, but I understand anything can happen in a 1-game elimination tournament especially if you're a team wearing a white jersey. Glad March Madness is almost here. We was robbed of it a year ago. Given how things has been over the last 12 months, we definitely need this tournament.
EAST - Last time Duke was the overall #1 seed, they lost in the Sweet 16 to LSU (2006 - Atlanta Regional which Lundquist/Raftery). A lot of familiar school names with MSU, Mississippi State (9 seed in Duke’s 2005 bracket - Austin), Louisville (headlined their 2013 bracket), VCU (upset Duke as an 11 seed in Buffalo, NY - 2007), Belmont (almost beat Duke as a 15 seed in Washington DC - 2008). SOUTH - Virginia was a #4 seed in this bracket in 2007 (lost to #5 Tennessee in the Round of 32). A lot of similar, slow paced teams in their bracket with Wisconsin, Kansas State, Old Dominion, Saint Mary’s, Cincinnati, Villanova (latter played slower than year before). MIDWEST - Traditional powerhouses with UNC, UK and KU. Previous time UNC played in this region they lost to Kansas in the 2012 Elite 8. WEST - FSU and Gonzaga were 1-1 before the Sweet 16 matchup (FSU won in the 2018 West Regional Semifinal, Gonzaga won in the 2010 Round of 64 in Buffalo, NY - lost to Syracuse). Texas Tech defeated Gonzaga in a past Round of 32 meeting (2005 - Tucson, AZ) and John Beilein (final year at Michigan) coached against the Red Raiders when he was at West Virginia.
This may be the best job the selection committee has ever done - seriously this is a good bracket and I can't find any serious fault with any of it. Let's play the games!
Personal bias aside (Sparty got screwed NCAA will rue the day zion falls before the final 4), I think they did an exceptional job in terms of parity. Location wise not great... potential 7v2 Cincy vs Tennessee 2nd round game in Ohio, and a potential UNC vs Kansas 1v4 sweet 16 in Kansas City. Those aren't even close to neutral sites
Would love to c u guys adv to the second round and have Johnny Dawkins go up against his mentor and former coach! Being a Duke man I not only have the highest respect for Dawkins but also what he has done at UCF keeping them relevant! They truly deserve getting into the Dance Tacko Fall is a beast
Guard play was a factor as well. While Jones (Duke) was an excellent defender, Winston was better at team decision making. Duke’s reliance on starpower of Barrett/Williamson limited them as a team in the tournament.
Wow, usually the experts are way off but seth got at least 3/4 of his predictions right this time. He should have also been right on belmont and NMSU but they both choked epically.
Seth Davis is summer camp counselor who went to Duke who is a talentless hack ... but every time Davis has picked against UNC they ended up winning it all
UNC has the best defense in the country, but we finally beat them with Zion. Still had a starter out. We get Bolden back, this title is coming back to the Bull City. Let's go, Duke!!! 💪🏼

I do agree with u on Furman; should have gotten some consideration they beat both Nova and Loyola but lost to Wofford all three times they played! Even with that being said they still should have gotten in ahead of Ariz St and Temple! How two teams combined that had 1 decent win got in is appalling
The bracket is probably the easiest to understand and probably the the most fair way to hold a playoff.
