I'm 29 this year and helping my friend teach her lesson horse to do dressage and hopefully some small events. Maybe you and me will be twins there Tina. I didn't care for jumping as a kid but this horse is the safest and least spooky horse ever.
Loved it. So honest. I had My Ruby in 2015... my phone soon got cluttered, and I regretfully deleted lots... I have since discovered google photos and now I can keep everything without deleting anything or saving it in the cloud. But I have also used RUclips as another way of reflecting and keeping things. Can’t wait for the other episodes... and never stop waffling...love it☺️
So fun to look back at your partnership with Banksy from the very beginning. I wish I had so much early footage of my horse, but unfortunately it just wasn't as common to get video of lessons or even shows. All the more inspiration to document everything now!

As a fairly new subscriber it was good to see your story with Banks. I can understand why you love him so much as I like animals with oomph and character. My dogs were a handful but I wouldn’t have had it any other way.

I have a TB its taken me 6 years also to learn to use my legs. She needs me there to reassure her but was always scared to put the leg on as she would shoot forward with her back up. It's a good feeling to finally get then working well xx

You were brave enough to gomcompeting. I was terrified to canter for years. Was only last October I got my brave pants on and just went for it again wish I had done it sooner.xx
I still have that problem. But my horse also didnt know that leg on doesnt necessarily means faster 🤣🤣🤣 but thats the great thing about riding, you are never done learning!
Honestly this was really inspiring. Due to personal reasons I know it'll be a couple of years until I get out competing and I know it'll be like starting again as it'll be my baby TBs first season out competing and we'll probably have many hairy moments but this just shows how worth it those hairy moments are because look at you now; and look how much fun you had on the way!! Xx
I absolutely love watching your vids and after seeing this one makes me feel better, cause I’ve just thrown my self into the deep end and gone for a 1 day event in August on my unruly cart horse 😬who we have taught to jump but the Dressage is the one that fears me in all the 30 plus years of horses it’s always been my fear and I can see it’s going to be a mess so I’m glad I’ve seen this and makes me feel a lot more relaxed 😬😁🐴♥️xx
Tina my horse is like the same as banksy and she is called hope and at this moment she is now foaling and having her foal very special times for both of us and all of us

I stopping riding around 2013 but I rode in HT/ODEs and all sorts at Chyverton, Porth Valley etc... gutted I stopped riding for as long as I did! Was your first 1m HT at Porth Valley? I recognise that 'ski jump'. Although I did jump the smaller version 🤣 I'm back riding again now but I really miss Cornwall and have such amazing memories from those recognisable places 🥰

I remember doing a schooling show and was on my mare first, she did the same thing Banksy did - great indoors then wild outdoors - and got a crumby score. Then the next class I rode a friend's gelding that happens to look really similar to my mare if you aren't familiar with them, and the judge boosted my score because I had "done so well at relaxing my horse and getting them more under control". I was dying, but not about to correct her lmao.
Well that was very interesting Tina and you have come on leaps and bounds with Banksy. He certainly is made to do cross country and is so forward going to be fair he saved you in a way when you didn’t make the circle where he slipped and bolted remember getting dumped makes us into even better riders. He was plain naughty on occasions and he knew you were a little afraid but look at you both today full of confidence the thing with him is to be strong in your seat and low and light hands I was always told this when I rode hot horses such as banksy. If it makes you feel better I was dumped on many occasions then eventually I became a much stronger rider etc. You keep strong when you get on him keep in mind YOU are the boss and ride him with 100% of your self and no more playing with your phone. Tfs and I’m looking forward to seeing more of your journey. 😎

Im so glad I’m not the only one who first gets a horse and jumping bigger at the start than I do now. I s**t my pants at anything over 80/90 now. Looking back at the fences I used to jump and I’m like Christ I was so brave 😂😂😂😂 I remember the video of Banks going through the hedge. How many leaves did you eat Tina?🌿🌿😂
So weird how we can be braver at the start isn’t it. I guess less has happened to worry us then 😂 Gaaahhhhhh far too many 🙈😂 it was the brambles that were the worst!!!!

Well that was very interesting Tina and you have come on leaps and bounds with Banksy. He certainly is made to do cross country and is so forward going to be fair he saved you in a way when you didn’t make the circle where he slipped and bolted remember getting dumped makes us into even better riders. He was plain naughty on occasions and he knew you were a little afraid but look at you both today full of confidence the thing with him is to be strong in your seat and low and light hands I was always told this when I rode hot horses such as banksy. If it makes you feel better I was dumped on many occasions then eventually I became a much stronger rider etc. You keep strong when you get on him keep in mind YOU are the boss and ride him with 100% of your self and no more playing with your phone. Tfs and I’m looking forward to seeing more of your journey. 😎

Im so glad I’m not the only one who first gets a horse and jumping bigger at the start than I do now. I s**t my pants at anything over 80/90 now. Looking back at the fences I used to jump and I’m like Christ I was so brave 😂😂😂😂 I remember the video of Banks going through the hedge. How many leaves did you eat Tina?🌿🌿😂
