John and Jeremy, I was sold on McPherson carbon fiber guitars during COVID shutdown having to play outside (in Montana cold). I got a buzz off The honeycomb pattern for a travel guitar. Thalia made a pick puck with a bee on it. These sound the closest to a wood guitar, to my ear. I tried several. Thanks John and Jeremy.

Good job, fellahs. I own the 2022 Honeycomb Blackout model and I’m digging it. On another note I also have an Emerald X20 carbon fiber. The Emerald is on par playability and tone wise (to my hands and ears). The Emerald is around $1K less though, depending on the add-ons one chooses. (I got the cheapest model with an upgraded pickup installed.) Both great instruments. One really cool thing is can leave either one out of their cases and not be concerned about the changes in temperature or humidity. Both stay in tune for a long time. My upscale wooden guitars reside in their cases along with humid paks to regulate the humidity. Something to consider, maybe.
    Keep on pickin!

Hi guys. Nice demo. For me and listening with sony earphones I liked the richness of the honeycomb and it seemed to me that it was also the loudest. That was my choice, right or wrong. Keep on smilng.

I liked all of them. Kinda liked the camo even though I don’t have one. One this is for sure, any of them could be an awesome studio recording guitar. These blow away wood. Only a wood mcpherson sounds better and that’s not by much.

I’ve owned my Touring for three years. Hangs on the wall in heat, cold, humidity and dry. Never a playability issue. I also own a McPherson Camrielle. The craftsmanship is second to none but it does take me a few minutes to acclimate to the cantilever fretboard if I’ve been playing my other guitars first. Please guys, stop interrupting each other when describing the instruments. It’s annoying as hell!

Plek is perfect if the tech is smart. I've seen a pleked gibson that is a disgrace....J45. I love the sound of the Mcpher....why no stainless frets I don't understand....EVO does wear. I know it from using them in zero frets.

I have done lots of composite molding ,fiberglass as well as carbon fiber .it is the least expensive molds in the industry compare the price of aluminum tooling to what composite tooling costs and you will find out quickly why they consider soft tooling a third of the cost now fine tuning the top is the difficult part of a guitar in carbon fiber . but for you to say how expensive this is is a misnomer these guitars can be made much more quickly and consistently than a wooden guitar wooden guitars such as Martin Taylor guild and others acoustically sound wonderful but they will not stay that way . some age well ,under almost perfect conditions these carbon fiber guitars don’t need those conditions and unless you have bats ears you can’t tell the difference .you can tell people that there is a difference but you would be exaggerating. I know luthier’s who will tell you that some of these carbon fiber guitars tone is comparable to anything made of wood and the process for carbon fiber is being done more and more with robotic equipment ,Therefore they will go lower and lower in price higher in quality and virtually identical tone to anything out there .not to mention the action can be so low you would think you were playing in the electric guitar McPhersons great but they’re too expensive they are cheaper versions that are just as good for a whole lot less and you might as well wait another four or five years .when they’re all really cheap and all really good And if you buy the cheaper ones now they’ll still hold up under any weather conditions and they can be handed down to beginner guitar players so I’m sorry I disagree with your sales pitch. Save your money buy a less expensive version now and wait a few years and you can buy some really good ones for a whole lot less money.

i came across man made material guitars a few years ago when i was hoping to go on a round the world trip. i've not managed to get my hands on a carbon fibre, but i did find a martin OOOX1. the plastic model. the story goes that it was on ebay, there was one really fuzzy picture and i bid £350 and i won.
i'd always wanted a martin but i never liked that diamond volute on the neck (i know, silly) and i never understood their numbering system (i'm kinda number dyslexic) so a martin for £350 - with case - was a bargain.
it was collection only i so i pop up to see the owner, and this is the ugliest guitar i ever did, i say the front looks like an 8 year old lost interest in creosoting it, the back and sides are HPL - martin don't even explain what HPL actually is, so to me it looks at worst like the stuff they sweep up off the floor plus glue, or, it's rejected kitchen worktop.
i wouldn't have touched this guitar even at that price if i'd seen it in a shop. so, anyway, i say to guy it has really old strings on, so i won't play it now, i'll take it home, restring it and if i don't like it i will just sell it on anyway. he goes to get the case and while he's gone of course i can't resist, and i just brush the bass strings, and ....
    WOW.
i told him he must be mad, i've bought and sold 60 or so guitars since 2013 and this is way, way better than anything - i have a 66 j45 and a 69 epi texan, a maton, a larrivee - i do know a little about acoustics.
anyway he wants an electric and who am i to stop him.
but i have a feeling that wood isn't (always) the best material to make acoustic guitars out of. i have demos on my channel but i warn you the recording is average.

I have to respectfully disagree. I’ve owned 3 high end rainsongs over the years and all of them are now sold after acquiring a McPherson. Rainsongs sound thin, brittle and plasticky to my ears. They feel like plastic, too. Emerald is far and away better than Rainsong as well and I still own 4 of them. The only thing I like about Rainsong anymore is the more traditional shapes, but that alone wasn’t enough for me. Anyways, we are all entitled to our own opinion, Mr.King, and I respect yours. Love your videos!
